We can all AGREE that this is might be THE ONLY movie that we already seen more than 10 times but still amaze us with the same feeling like watch it the first time. TRULLY EVERLASTING MASTERPIECE
This film is truly a masterpiece, paid homage to so many kung fu novels, characters, fighting styles and tidbits. I still get a real laugh at the knives and snakes scene!
The significance of the ending can not be understated. After showing him that he could have ended it whenever he wanted, he grabs what was a weapon, and shows it as instead a toy. The same was as the martial arts, not meant to harm. When he asked him what move it was, and was offered to be taught, he was forgiven of his mistakes however great. He saw him as he was, seeing him in the shadow of the sun, he felt a wave of every emotion possible, fully accepting his offering of forgiveness and teaching.
This is the perfect example of how live-action anime fighting scenes should be portrayed: the effects are fantastic, and the exaggeration is just right. It's not cringeworthy or weird at all.
hey, very well said. There is a sort of realism even in the people's acting in this movie that is mixed with a sliver of caricature exaggeration that would definitely fit live-action shounen anime.
06:13 the fact that his left foot is still flat (from getting stepped on earlier) just show how much they pay attention to every minor details. This is why this movie will be a timeless classic.
"If you want to learn, I'll teach you." That's all the Beast every really wanted. He thought he'd reached the pinnacle of what could be achieved, and what he had achieved made him feel empty, bored, and unfulfilled. Realizing that there are mysteries beyond what he had hoped to be able to achieve restored his sense of wonder, and the fact that this now-enlightened young man that he had tried to kill would offer to teach him if he could humble himself to learn filled him with hope (such as he must have once had when he began learning the martial arts in his youth).
Very nicely summarized. A brutal beatdown or death wouldn't do justice to a villain like that. The beast did evil things but not out of evil intentions.
It would be wonderful to do a prequel where he does turn out to be their son and was lost somehow because of their Kung fu history after all they were called masters Helen of Troy and Paris so I was thinking it would be neat to know their back story

Sorry, but no matter how good he is, all it would have taken for Thanos was a snap, and he would be done. Even saying this takes away from the sacrifice that Tony Stark made to defeat Thanos. He and Spider-Man would have been a good fight though, I'm not sure who would win. You're obviously delusional if you think this guy could beat Thanos, he couldn't even have beat Corvus Glaive, not even on his worst day. In fact, I would say that almost any Avenger could have stopped the Buddist Palm with their pinky, and then annihilated the guy. I don't know what kind of fictional World y'all are living in where Supernatural martial arts skills overpower Supernatural magical skills, you must be ignorant of how fictional physics work.
That ending always brings a tear 4 me. At 1st, it seems a bad idea to "teach" him. But I imagine it's like Thor's hammer; the Buddha Palm is only 4 the worthy.😱
It also implies the teaching of Buddhism that to show mercy and kindness to every living thing! Love 'em producing the ending like this to make us think, rather than just kill the antagonist ❤
The man who plays the Beast had been retired for many years. he had always been the good guy in his films. This was his return and the first time he ever played a villain.
Chinese movies aren't typically renowned in the West, at all. However, Stephen Chow certainly has a talent to bridge the audiences to something palatable for us all.

Greatest movie ever and still is but I kinda wish the 3 warriors who protected the people live cause they showed what I love about Asian people the true heart of protecting people
Yes Kung Fu Hustle 2 is coming. We don't know when for sure, because he's working on The Mermaid 2 (Mermaid might even be better and is the alltime box office champ.) Steven Chow won't appear in it, other than maybe a cameo - in fact, it will be all new characters, with most likely a female lead.
If I were to describe all the ways this movie was awesome, I'd break the internet. Also, thank God his pants weren't flammable, otherwise that would have been awkward.
A beautiful ending. Both found their purpose. The final boss achieved what he wanted, he wanted to be defeated. But his purpose was to learn more. The hero got what his purpose was, to be the strongest kung Fu master.
That foot stomping scene is still one of my favorite move in this movie. I could just imagine that each stomp is the equivalent of having a heavy metal piece getting dropped on your foot, yikes!

damn right 💪
Not hard to do everyone in the marvel universe is trash even most of the characters don't even want to be from that universe
@@atworldsend818 You try snapping as your toes get stomped on.

Ok, if Thanos didn't have those big Uru metal boots on, then maybe.
That ending always brings a tear 4 me.
At 1st, it seems a bad idea to "teach" him. But I imagine it's like Thor's hammer; the Buddha Palm is only 4 the worthy.😱
By teaching him, it actually redeems him.
Remember yin yang ☯️ ? Theres good in evil and there's evil in good
It also implies the teaching of Buddhism that to show mercy and kindness to every living thing! Love 'em producing the ending like this to make us think, rather than just kill the antagonist ❤

Mercy n kindness have their place but fly out the window in "kill or be killed" moments.
Asian boy: Displays insanely strong martial arts prowess
2:05 asian parents: If he studies, he can be a lawyer or doctor!
Kung Fu Hustle = sheer brilliance. Just has everything. Loving the humor and story.
The man who plays the Beast had been retired for many years. he had always been the good guy in his films. This was his return and the first time he ever played a villain.
He was perfect as the Beast.
This is still my favorite fight in all of Kung Fu! I love this movie!
Then ur stupid af black
Same here
i know right, he gains enlightenment in the air and becomes great.
Chinese movies aren't typically renowned in the West, at all.
However, Stephen Chow certainly has a talent to bridge the audiences to something palatable for us all.
Maybe nitpicking here but it is Cantonese. Especially Jackie Chan and Bruce Lee movies are quite popular I'd say
@@Keepcalm-lovesports true, Hong Kong cinema is a different story, pretty popular in the west and influential (gun-fu)
Hong kong movies are typically known, if not, jackie chan and jet li and donnie yen wouldnt land in hollywood

one of the greatest movie of all time, top action scenes + great comedy + good cgi + good bit of drama. its absolutely epic

"If our son were alive he'd be his age now"
You know I'm starting to think that the before the events of the movie the Land Lord and the Land Lady used to be a very happy married couple however that changed when their son died which turned the land lady into this bitter old hag while the land lord resorted into adultery as a means to cope for the lost of their son.

20 years ago and the cgi was way better than some million dollar productions from hollywood… that movie was a masterpieace
This movie is ageless should be in eternal hall of fame❤
8:27 One Palm Man
Grossly underrated masterpiece. Love this movie.
I can not overstate the happiness I felt watching this again. A one of a kind film & an absolute masterpiece. Thanks for sharing!
This 5 minute clip has better CGI for 20 year old movie than the whole DCEU
Exactly
1:38 Now that's art ! 😁😁
Greatest movie ever and still is but I kinda wish the 3 warriors who protected the people live cause they showed what I love about Asian people the true heart of protecting people
7:20 PUBG!!
Thank you SBS. Kung Fu Hustle is a movie all of us round-eye martial artist's should watch.

We need kung hustle 2....this movie was a masterpiece 😊
Don’t worry, it’s coming😊

It’s really coming. Saw the news.
It’s really coming. Saw the news.
Yes Kung Fu Hustle 2 is coming. We don't know when for sure, because he's working on The Mermaid 2 (Mermaid might even be better and is the alltime box office champ.) Steven Chow won't appear in it, other than maybe a cameo - in fact, it will be all new characters, with most likely a female lead.
this movie is masterpiece
😂😂😂
So genius, slow motion, funny n serious combined together in one scne.. legendary stephen chow
Best fighting movie ever
Still one of my fav movies, i dont care if people say its over the top and urealistic, ofc it is thats the point
If I were to describe all the ways this movie was awesome, I'd break the internet. Also, thank God his pants weren't flammable, otherwise that would have been awkward.
just like how hulk get to keep his pants, regardless how big he become.
😁😁
"You have faced the Buddha's palm... But have you faced..."
*Pants burn away*
"The Buddha's DONG!?"
What i learned from that movie? Never underestimate the power of toe-stepping technique
A beautiful ending. Both found their purpose. The final boss achieved what he wanted, he wanted to be defeated. But his purpose was to learn more. The hero got what his purpose was, to be the strongest kung Fu master.
This movie made me realize that, if we are ever to get a good live action dragonball movie, it cant be made by Hollywood.
It's the realism I like the best.
Best kung fu movie ever 😂
Nah bruh
If it's in animated then it's the different thing
But this isn't the best martial arts movie
I love when the bad dude says; lets go and the one hit him straight ahead without notice 🤣
Knowing the beast, he would play dirty too soo get him first is a must
That foot stomping scene is still one of my favorite move in this movie. I could just imagine that each stomp is the equivalent of having a heavy metal piece getting dropped on your foot, yikes!
I love this movie to death.
PS. People have no idea how huge this movie is in India
And here I thought india hates anything to do with china
Yes i have watched more than 10 times but never get bored, i used to practice those kungfu moves to become a kungfu fighter,😢

I feel sorry to those whose toes were killed in action. They didn't make it to shoulin soccer.
Much more enthralling, gripping and emotional than even Avengers Endgame's climax.
I mean.. it was great.. but I doubt this movie's climax got the cheer or excitement that 'Avengers..... Assemble" got.
You: Literally The ONE, who can stomp hundreds of people with your martial art skills
Asian parents: You should study hard and strive to become a doctor or lawyer
RIP to all the legends in this movie that arent here anymore. Stephen chow will always be a legendary director and actor. The fact he directed and played the role as the main character is such a great achievement and for it to be funny and entertaining is the best
