What’s the movie Dragonheart about?
England, 984. During a peasant revolt, Freyn (Peter Hric), a tyrannical monarch, is killed and his son Einon (David Thewlis of Naked and Harry Potter) seriously injured while under the care of Sir Bowen (Dennis Quaid of Breaking Away and Frequency), his guardian. Dying, Einon is rushed to Draco, a noble dragon who saves his life by sharing his heart with him. A few years later, Einon took his father's place and proved to be even more cruel than him; Bowen, for his part, has become a renegade and embittered knight who has sworn to exterminate all the dragons of the earth. Fate then puts Bowen in front of the last of the dragons, who is none other than Draco. A terrible fight ensues, during which Bowen must confess defeat, before realizing that the dragon is in no way responsible for the tyranny of Einon. A collaboration emerges to kill Einon, which gradually turns into a friendship. He gathers a whole army of peasants to set up a new revolt that will put an end to Einon's reign. But, Einon and Draco sharing the same heart, Bowen realizes that Draco must die so that Einon dies too. After the convincing words of Draco, he ends up killing him and at the same time finishes the era of the dragons and the time of Einon.

I really love the model of Draco. It doesn't even matter how old it is or that it's the first CG animated character for a live action film to have such screentime. It's just good design and the character itself makes me ignore any composition imperfections like shadows etc. I would love to see this model rendered with modern day animation.

Hard to believe 2021 marks the film's 25th anniversary. The CGI looks better than CG used in some current movies.

This is so good to see. Draco is my favorite character in Dragonheart and all time favorite dragon. It's healing to see this half a year after Sean's passing. You will be missed and remembered.

Not sure. But from what I see, he and the dragons respect the Old Code as much as the Knights do.

Why do I feel like it’s the Dragons the originally came up with the Old Code
Maybe the first dragons heard King Arthur create the Old Code, and memorized it so others in the future will know.

This scene is a little funny because Draco gets choked on his own smoke, poor thing. I do wonder though what the view would've been from atop his back. Flying above the village and watching them scatter as Draco set fire to the land. Although I don't believe I would want to be up there when he goes into the water, as I cannot swim. To be a dragon he's a very good actor, a little beneath him but still, he "reaction" to the spear is a bit funny. Excellent dive as well. Even though he is a male dragon, he looks quite beautiful coming out of the water, his scales gleam like gold. I love the look on his face when he sees the sheep though, I imagine that's his favorite prey. His aerial acrobatics are amazing to watch, so graceful despite his size. Much could be learned from Draco.
