Keep on with the Zeppelin songs my generation (,I was 13 in 1971). Was jokingly referred to the generation who never came out of their rooms but to eat and go to school. This band is but a small slice of the amazing music that was written by young artists like these two. Mere 19 for some of these songs. We had our record players and radios and played this stuff all day and night around school and meals etc. Our world's we're this!!! Visualize this once you hear more artists.....

My brother passed away this week on the 5th of July. He was 60 , 12 years older than me. He was my best friend and the person who turned me onto the great music of his youth, which is the music I love and a big part of who I am today. He had Led Zeppelin albums and tapes ,among others but he told me, correctly, that Zeppelin were the top of the heap, as good as it gets. I spent so much time hanging out with him and partying and enjoying good times and good music. I'm going to miss you Mike. You were the best friend and brother a guy could ask for. I don't wish the sadness I feel tonight on anyone but I am thankful to have had all those good years with my big brother. I listen to this tonight with a heavy heart . There is a video of a performance done in 2012 at the Kennedy Center in Washington DC called The Kennedy Honors. Led Zeppelin were honored for their contribution to music along with certain other people being honored in their professional fields. Four Zeppelin songs were preformed that night, by four different artists, in honor of the three surviving members. John Bonham had died in 1980, as you know. The rock band Heart performed Stairway to Heaven, backed by an orchestra, back-up singers and finally, a full choir. The members of Zeppelin reacted differently, Jimmy with glee and joy, JPJ with appreciation, Robert with deep emotion and tears (he later described why he was crying....too much to go through here....but it was for many reasons). John Bonham’s son, Jason, played the drums for the song. Jason had also played drums for Zeppelin’s 2007 reunion concert and was magnificent taking his dad’s chair. Anyway, don’t know if you want to do a reaction to this performance, but you should watch it for sure. Kennedy Center Honors Led Zeppelin on TH-cam...

I think there a lot of Zep songs that are just as good and sometimes better live (No Quarter is a good example), but I don’t think they’ve ever captured the full magic of Stairway live. The production, the atmosphere, the acoustic guitar, the magical solo, the blinding light of inspiration, none of it has ever been equaled live on this song. IMHO. Also, Plant has never sounded better than on this song in studio, and his voice never matched the Zep catalogue after 72, unfortunately. I almost can’t listen to any of his post Zeppelin solo work.

Hello Patrick and George. You two are adorable. I love your reactions. You are so honest and truly enjoying the experience we who have grown up on Led Zeppelin felt as well. That feeling of hearing them never fades. My siblings and I grew up on Led Zeppelin. We all love them to this day. I had the great pleasure of seeing them when they came to Chicago, IL. Late 70's early 80's. To this day I am in total awe of their greatness. It is no surprise that they are the #1 Rock and Roll band ever, and Stairway to Heaven is voted as the best song of all time. They truly are a gift to Rock and Roll music. No other rock and roll band can come close to Led Zeppelin and never will. They are untouchable. Keep the reactions coming guys. One question if you could please answer. Your accents? Which I love... I just cannot place the origin. Thank you, Donna

I was about 13 the first time I ever heard this. I was with my father at Cedar Point amusement park in Sandusky Ohio waiting in an extremely long line for one of the rides. They had a DJ on site and I remember him making a comment that the next song was a little bit of a longer song since we had no where to be anyway. From the first note to the last, I don’t even remember being in line for that ride. Like I wasn’t even there. I just remember getting this feeling that I had never felt before over music. It was something I had never heard before, but at the same time felt like it was familiar to me and the journey it took me on just showed me what really good music could do. I had loved music all my life up until that point and I was open to different genres, but I honestly think I would view music differently had I not ever heard this song. My all time favorite song and band. I will request this be played when it’s my time to go.
