Loved the waterfall at Ellenborough Falls it was really flowing. The walk through the rain forest was great could almost smell the dampness and freshness. Thankyou
apparently Ellenborough Falls are 150 m tall, wonder how much water was coming over every minute? I suppose rain is one of the down sides of van life, just got to grin and bear it until the sun comes back out, cheers, Garry
Beautiful, love the waterfall, the beaches, even in the rain and mist it looks an amazing place. I love how you find places to stay overnight.. you’ve given us some great ideas, so thank you. X
Yep, great video Jason. I look forward to Wednesday and Saturday mornings, having a coffee and watching your videos. Some of the places that you're taking us to, I've never seen before. The video footage is spectacular. Take care and keep having fun. Cheers, Sean
I think that has been your best video so far Jason. The waterfall footage coupled with the drone footage and the (almost) still shots of the flora were superb. One day I hope you decide to install a grey water tank under your van.... I believe it will be a game-changer for you. I have a Sprinter van with two grey tanks, one for my shower installed on the drivers side of my vehicle directly beneath the shower and a second in the spare wheel basket at the rear for my kitchen sink. I think you can get these for Transit vans too and you just need to install a spare wheel holder on your rear door. Anyhow thank you. I really enjoy your channel mate and can't wait for the next video.... Happy Trails.
Thanks Peter 😁 I was so happy to see that the falls weren't owned by the national parks...hence I could fly the drone! I did plan to fit a grey tank and have room for it, but after a year I think it would be difficult to find places to empty it, other than doing what I already do and finding some trees to water. But yes, it would open up a few more low cost camp grounds for me.... we'll see 😊
@@MakingStuffGoingPlaces Quietly, I like it when it rains - even if I am under an umbrella, a canvas or in the van. Yes, I too get bored after too many hours of that.
Morning! How beautiful are the falls!! ❤ Once our child has finished high school we're looking at moving to the Mid North Coast. Tuncurry/Foster are our next places to scope out. Glad to see a bit of it through your eye!
Seems very busy there now and it's not even holiday season. I know from many years ago, it's a nightmare at Christmas. Lake Cathie was the other place I was looking at a few years ago too. Tallwoods won me on Supercheap land prices though 😂
Thanks Tony. And I couldn't really get all that close to the fall. It was huge! Actually the park is council owned, according to all the signage. I was so happy to be able to use the drone.
@MakingStuffGoingPlaces nice . It was so beautiful to see and nice to see a local van life than all just American. Nice to see the niche you have created. Great videos
Beautiful waterfall, you looked tiny. Lovely misty/cloudy drive. That hip camp looks good, did you need to be self contained? That drone is paying for itself 🙂 Yeah prices for materials after 2020 went through roof and would have been a bugga to mow on that slope!
Thanks Pauline 😁 The campsites were for tents as well, so no need for self contained. Getting some great shots with the drone....just wish the picture quality was better. Seeing some cool things though! Yeah, mowing the grass...😂😂
Thanks for a great video Jason! Ellenborough Falls is on our list for sure. Do you need to have a shower and toilet for that HipCamp? And do you think the road in would be OK for our old commodore station wagon?
You would be fine in those roads. They're just a bit bumpy, but actually not too bad this time. I think there's a toilet at the camp but not sure about shower. See the link in the video description.
It was good to see the Ellenborough Falls again. When I saw them about 10 years ago there was not much water. Loved the drone footage. What a different aspect on seeing the falls. The fungi are beautiful too. Are they as small as your fingernail? Why not have a hobby for when you're rain bound? Sketching from your camera footage is a good relaxation therapy... Just a thought. What editing software do you use please? I'm having to learn how to do that. Life never stops and new things to learn and see around the corner. Please stay safe and well
Thanks Jo 😊 The water was running pretty hard. I'd love to see it in full flood though. I use devinci resolve for editing. You'll need a reasonable graphics card to run it though. The other option I used to use is Inshot which is a phone app (Android). It's actually really good, does 4K and very easy to use. Both can be tried for free, so give them a go.
Hi with regards to your shower dripping after a shower would it be helpful to leave the shower head dangling for a short while to let all the water out. 🤷♀️
I was doing that but the hose is long enough to reach the floor so I didn't empty completely. The new head is actually much better as it all drips out at once...as long as I remember to give it a shake once I turn it off 😂
Next time if it's too wet to walk/exercise walk around Bunnings or the shopping centre...after hours the carpark is good. I have a friend who lives close to the airport so she goes their because she can run with a weighted backpack and people just think she's running for a plane lol
We would love a Christmas special video closer to Christmas please kind sir .......your van done up with ch stuff for your van maybe .... of course I can't supply you with gifts but just an idea please kind sir.....ps we love your channel....
Hate to disappoint, but I am such a non Christmas kind of person 😂 Even when I lived in a house, I never put up a Christmas tree. Probably didn't help that my wife at the time used to work on Christmas day. I will also be spending Christmas with my mother, so I won't be on the road...but I'll see what I can do 😁👍
It’s interesting your travel methodology. I would find it unsettling when you are constantly trying to find a place to stay each day for free. I travel for work all over the nsw north coast and tablelands and sometimes it’s worth paying a miserly $14 fee at a national park for instance just to get a worthwhile experience and lifetime memory. You don’t always have to stay in dodgy reserves or on the fringe of industrial estates.
Agree totally! But finding places that are under $20 per night isn't easy. Many places I stay, there just aren't any cheap campsites within a reasonable drive. It's definitely a lot less stressful when you know where you can stay!
The drone footage flying over the edge of the waterfall was beautiful ❤!
Loved the waterfall at Ellenborough Falls it was really flowing. The walk through the rain forest was great could almost smell the dampness and freshness. Thankyou
Thanks Joanne. You wait until you see where I went today! 😁👍
Loved the waterfall in the mist
It was pretty cool! Just a shame I missed the cloud blowing in. It was a lot more whispy when I arrived.😁
@@MakingStuffGoingPlaces Yeah the forest is pretty in the wispy cloud
Just Beautiful! What a difference the drone makes…Spectacular
Thanks Mandy 😊
Everything looks better from above 😁
Nice one🤙 Always good to get the sounds of nature as well like the waterfall and the birds. Good selection of tunes.
Thanks! Great to get out into some lush forests again 😁👍

There's always somewhere to stay. You don't always get a good night sleep though 😁
Beautiful waterfall footage. Great video all round, actually.
Thanks as always.
Helen
Thanks Helen 😊
Nicer been to the bottom of that fall before.... amazing!😁
Great video as usual. The pics of waterfall with drone are truly amazing !! Thanks for sharing
Safe travels 🚙
Thanks Vicki!😊
So happy I could fly the drone there! Looks amazing from that angle.
Another great video. Thanks
Thank you!😊

👍even the ⛈ was good.
I still managed to squeeze stuff in around the rain 😁

I must say, being in the bush just after the rain is the best time. Not too keen on the mud though 😂

Perfect waterfall yeah Forster is getting way too busy I looked up there before settling where I am now
Definitely busier than Nelson Bay area!
Wow seeing how small you look on that lookout at Elllenborugh falls show how big it must be. Awesome video. BTW is that national park lol

There's good paragliding up that way - North Brother and Middle Brother have launches on them - 'High Adventure' used to train there.
Yeah, I was really hoping to be able to fly there when I came up, but not to be. Next time!
Best time to go to a waterfall is when it's been raining, even better flooding!
😁👍 absolutely!
