First time seeing your video. Always love to see other countries and the beautiful scenery. Would be nice to know some of the landscapes you’re showing. When our children were young we lived in the mountains in California so our camping was way up in the mountains. No camp sites, electricity, no luxuries, just a dirt road and a clearing by a lake my husband grew up fishing in. We had four children at the time and the youngest was only one. We had one tent for us all and cooked by the fire my husband built. On time we wanted to get one more camping trip in before winter and drove up to a lake way up in back country on a forest service road. It was a beautiful lake and had a blast fishing and exploring with the children. That night I just couldn’t keep warm and kept checking on the children but were all sleeping good in their thick sleeping bags. As I couldn’t sleep I got up about 5 and decided to start the fire and have some coffee while everyone slept only to discover it snowed during the night! Ha, and my water pot was frozen across the top and the ground of snow was frozen. Bummer to cut the camping trip short but the kids loved it and did get fishing and fun time in the day but packed and left before dark and it froze again. So many good time but their all grown up now. They all love the mountains. One works in Yosemite, one in Grand Canyon, one in Hawaii, and another in Montana. They still camp and fish and is why they got jobs there. I asked one why they wanted to move so far away and he said “ mom, we know every inch of the mountains here and have seen it all, fished and camped it all and there’s so much more to see out there.” How could I compete with that. Thanks for sharing a part of your life;)
Grateful for your adventure with this new setup! Japan is so cool with the weather update and I just discovered there is also a landslide precaution😮 I envy that kind of information update, my country lack about that kind of precaution. Also if it is legal, I think you should install a fog lamp for a backup because your van got a white light, it’s hard to penetrate rain and fog. A fog lamp should do the job for better safety while driving in such condition 🤔 Anyway I like your journey, please enjoy your time and adventure, I can’t wait for another long trip videos :D

RCC..Another excellent video. Besides making it down the mountain safely the Toyota has proven to be a sturdy vehicle. No leaks or other issues. I like the window guards they help with ventilation. Of course I watched this before breakfast and your cooking made me hungry. This was nice. We haven't had rain like that in a month. It's been a HOT Summer. A shame you had to cut your trip short, but heavy rains and mountainsides don't mix well.

You need the Japanese product Soft99 Ultra Glaco for that front windshield. It will improve visibility when driving in the rain and your wipers won't be required at the fastest speed.

Just some advice for driving in such heavy rain or fog, don't have your lights on full beam, it makes it harder to see ahead, just have them on regular/short beam. Hope that helps
You might consider treating your windshield with a rain treatment. In USA we use RainX. Not sure what's available in Japan, but it really helps with visibility.

Thank you. Safety is priority😊 That fish is a carp. It's a herbivore and has a gentle personality, so it won't eat the ducks. I hope so lol
