    As a “I’ve seen ever MaCenna video she’s ever posted” kind of viewer, I love that you bounce between projects and houses. I never have to second guess where you are or why things are finished. It makes you that much more relatable and makes us all feel human. Additionally, other than vlogmas, I couldn’t tell you which day of the week you upload or if you upload late. I don’t lose sleep over it but when I cozy up at night and I see your video in my subscriptions, you’re the first one I click! Don’t beat yourself up about the small things, you’re doing GREAT 🤍

    I agree with changing all the coverings around the house. We did that in our home, and it definitely is a big expense, but the payout is huge, in my opinion. It just elevates the home and takes that cheap, blah look away. I also wanted to say that as far as a viewer, I've never been confused as to where you are or questioned why you hadn't finished a certain project. I think it would have to be viewer's who are new or don't watch regularly otherwise I couldn't understand the issue as it's not complicated and regarding projects...again, if you watch and listen you always explain 'why' but I also realize this is your real life and not a TV production so again not sure why people can't follow along or put unrealistic expectations on real people. You have a crazy fast-paced life due to owning 2 homes in different states and the type of work you do. You are but 1 person. It's absolutely amazing what you accomplish. Not many could keep up, that's for sure.

    *McCenna, to get the red and the sting (PAIN) out of sunburn, apply straight WHITE VINEGAR to the sunburn with a soft cloth. White vinegar will also keep your skin from blistering and peeling IF APPLIED SOON (same day) the sunburn occurs. It's an old home remedy that REALLY WORKS❣️😁🌞*

    • @Lucinda_Jackson
      @Lucinda_Jackson ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It does work. When I was in high school, the thing was to apply Noxzema to the burn ASAP. It sort of liquifies and melts right in. I have the fairest skin and I burn EVERY time I'm in the sun for more than 10 minutes. I would put Noxzema on in late afternoon after coming home from the Club (we didn't have pools at home then where I lived) and I'd be pain feee and wake up the next morning tanned, no longer burnt and didn't peel. I'd do this several days a week! Yikes!

    • @diannebernau3293
      @diannebernau3293 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I live in Australia and have fair skin so I burn easily. My mother used to rub a tomato, which was cut in half, over the sunburn. The acid in the tomato would take the sting out of the sunburn. We never had sunscreen when I was a kid so we made do. Even now, and I am 69, I don’t deliberately go out in the sun unless I am covered up and slathered with 50 SPF.

      Oh- No ;No; No! 🚫 Not White Vinegar = But it's Apple Cider Vinegar that is Best for removing affects of Any Burn from Oil, Grease, Boiling Water , Sun or Fire if applied immediately
      It's endorsed by Me for Many of its Healing Properties when I've used & His Advice has kept me alive for 78 years but always pretest skin for allergic reactions to apples} So to Confirm this Advice You Can Read= Edgar Cayce's Book " Born to Heal... What's in it is Amazing and I've used everything over the last 50 plus Years and the Advice Worked..As He was a Born Healer; had A Great Prophetically Gifted Soul for Helping Our Planet & it's People
      Sadly 😭 He wasn't recognized 😭 by the medical society enough probably because He healed what they Couldn't & Besides Our System is based on Illness not Wellness but His Advice that healed Me & My Sons came from His prayers & deep meditations that connected Him to the Higher Power and Creator ... My Children & I have greatly benefited from His Advice & I've loyally changed many things in My LiFe due to his Wonderful teachings and How I used them & saw them Heal my children.
      White vinegar isn't what he Said it was & has Always been "Apple Cider Vinegar " poured or sprayed onto the skin that stops the burning immediately removing any type of burn from the skin, within seconds of applying it .
      ****Again it's "Apple Cider Vinegar" 🤢that is Used

      Yes, Tomatoes also work but Some people are extremely allergic to them and get horrible effects if rubbed on their skins but Apple Cider Vinegar Heals Most Human Conditions both inside & Outside.of the body >> His Abilities beCause Right Now He Also Gave these readings that dealt with Earth events happening Now Way back in the 1940' era as these changes on Earth are Extrodinary accurately described in Present Times for all Humanities Safety we Should Read but Make Up Our own Minds especially in 2023

    My parents have bow windows with outside curtains. They never close them, but they joke that when I'll have kids they'll be able to do theatre performance in the bay. I feel like it makes the room more cozy and complete. Maybe you never close them for the outside, but for having a protected nook. Kind of a secret place to hang out.

    When I moved in to my new place I switched out all the light switch plates and outlet covers. I found some beautiful bronze metal ones on Amazon. The light switch plates came in single, double and triple, of which I needed all. They are so beautiful and well made. And blend well with my neutral, rustic, cozy decor so well. You should totally build a built in window bench with storage for kinsley to perch on top of and look out the front window. That way the space is more functional (plus you can put things like shoes and whatnot inside. Won’t be such a dead space and you can still add the curtains too. Plus reading nook? Only downside it takes up space that you would put your christmas tree in…maybe make it movable piece of furniture on hidden castors for Christmas season removal?

    You are right on with the drapery for the bay window but don’t forget about the drop of the ring if you using a rod with rings. As a designer I think a dark metal rod with same rings would add detail to the space. Also, your small window left of the door I would do a Roman shade of the same fabric.
    Drapery adds such elegance, definitely completes a room.

      It's how my mom did the curtains in a bay window on one of our houses in about 1969. The house was built (finished) in 1967 and our bay was enclosed with a window seat. She started with cafe curtains from halfway down to the window seat. Then had two glass shelves all around the bay in the windows that held colored glass pieces - Fenton, Murano, etc. She hated the cafe curtains in her formal living room and ripped them down and replaced them with the scenario you're going with and added another glass shelf half way up on the bottoms of the wi goes for more glass. That was our privacy. She never liked the full length curtain with the window seated bay and toyed with having it all ripped out and having it rebuilt like yours - an open bay, but she didn't feel she could justify the cost. By 1990, she'd have just put shutters up and let it go if she'd still been there!

    You may know this from Drew, but the Twopages curtains are pretty heavy( about 12 lbs each). I ordered two lined 100”x98” each. My rod would not hold them. It bowed and a bracket came out of the wall. I ordered a new rod that came in smaller sections that screw together and it claims to hold up to 40-something pounds. The curtains are almost too much for the new rod! I made sure the brackets are all in studs plus I purchased two more brackets for added support. The curtains do look custom.

    Way back in the 1950's my family and I lived in an old Georgian house in Dublin, and on of the rooms we rented had a huge bay window. The bay was so huge that we fit a large (six seater) oval dining table in it. This was in the days before double glazing, and I remember that we had floor to ceiling velvet curtains that drew across the outside of the bay, closing off the table. So that kind of curtain is definitely a thing.

    Hey MaCenna, are you sure you don’t want to line those draperies? I say that because you’ll see the wall through the sheer, plus there will be light shining through the other inside edge. Also without lining your panel drapery color will fade. i always advised my clients to line draperies.

    When packing framed art, it's not a bad idea to cris-cross packing tape over the glass. Then if the glass gets shatters, it doesn't damage the art or get everywhere.

    I used to work for my mom at a drapery business. If you are wondering if that price is good for custom draperies, it is. 😃
    When you start pricing fabric and compare it to something like wood blinds, usually people choose the wood blinds. Also, your fabric stack is about 1/3 the total width. That will help you for calculating how much of the fabric you want on and off the window opening.
    Can’t wait to see how they’ll look🥰

    Oh my goodness, my Sheltie dog, Cooper is the same way. He hates the vacuum, lawnmower, air nail gun, etc. He attacks the vacuum, freaks out when my husband cuts the grass. But..he is the sweetest boy, lol.

    Cover plate change out is a must but maybe that’s one of the last things you do as a finishing touch. Or maybe they would sponsor you?

    For your outlet and light switch covers, try the screw less ones. I used them and they just make it look so much better. And you can get them in different colors.

    Ooh, I'd totally be doing a deep forest green for the curtains, pulling something from your painting over the fireplace! But i know whatever you choose is going to be lovely!

    Thank you so much for sharing your thinking behind choosing colors in your renovations and decor! I really love decorating but I’ve always struggled with understanding how to chose colors/metal finishes/wood stains. Just in the time I’ve been watching your videos I’ve noticed it’s been so much easier to make choices that fit well with each other and give the feeling I want! I still struggle but you’ve really helped!

    i think a dark olive green (almost brown) would be a very pretty color for the curtains as well! but the one you picked is also nice for a more subtle look.

    Would you not like to replace the artwork above the console table with a mirror for a ‘final check’ on your way out the door?
    I’d leave the artwork above the fireplace, unless you want a mirror to reflect the light from the window.
