I'm a huge fan of the Bee Gees, but this was always one of my least favorite songs of theirs. Then I heard this version for the first time about 2 months ago. Reverend Al Green gave it the emotion it needed. I absolutely love his version - one of the few songs where the cover is 1000 times better than the original.

I stopped hearing from my girlfriend as frequently. From many emails, calls, and text's to short little quips. Her birthday card to me in April was corny and not filled with love at all. My father passed 12-06-96 when I was just 15yrs old. This song meant everything to me then as it does now. I'm so appreciative that I was raised on music like this. Otis Redding (Big O as my father called him), Al Green (Cool Al) and Marvin Gaye (Silky Marvin) were his all time favorites. I know how it feels..like its hard to go forth from here. My sister who was also mt best friend died tragically from cancer. Diagnosed with terminal cancer and six months to a year. We went through 2018 together and on xmas eve she died a peaceful death. I never even realized it was near until she took her last breath. It was very powerful in the room with four of us around her. It confirmed there are angels and something after called heaven. She rests in the Lords mansion with many rooms. He preparethed a room for her. I miss her face, her voice and her.

I was today years old when I learned this was a cover. Shout out to the Bee Gees for writing this. Al Green definitely elevated the song. Gave it the soul and heartache meant for it. Love the Bee Gees too.

My father passed 12-06-96 when I was just 15yrs old. This song meant everything to me then as it does now. I'm so appreciative that I was raised on music like this. Otis Redding (Big O as my father called him), Al Green (Cool Al) and Marvin Gaye (Silky Marvin) were his all time favorites. I'll always cherish memories of him sipping his favorite cognac and blasting these tunes in his Cadillac. Me on the passenger and we just sitting in the yard listening to these legends over and over. I know how it feels..like its hard to go forth from here. My sister who was also mt best friend died tragically from cancer. Diagnosed with terminal cancer and six months to a year. We went through 2018 together and on xmas eve she died a peaceful death. I never even realized it was near until she took her last breath. It was very powerful in the room with four of us around her. It confirmed there are angels and something after called heaven. She rests in the Lords mansion with many rooms. He preparethed a room for her. I miss her face, her voice and her.

My roommate, my husband and I rode from Austin to Crockett Texas. We jammed to AL Green the entire trip. It was magical. My husband passed away later that year. I'll always remember what a beautiful time it was. So much fun, singing along with AL on that trip.

Over and over on my cell phone. This song is exactly how I feel after losing my daughter--Tiffany Dawn Caudill, 43 years of age. The most precious gift given to me--taken forevermore.
