How to Use a Baitcaster Reel

I have your bait caster and rod combo but I really need to learn how to cast it properly. I always used spinning reels (I have 5 of yours already) but wanted to learn how to use a bait cast reel. It looks real good but this video gave me some pointers and how to set things up

Are the reel and Rod combos for the Baitcasters one piece?
