So thank you TSL for opening up the conversation, and I would love love to see you guys continue to make more meaningful content like this (:
This video is somehow so timely. Been struggling a lot recently and decided to see a counselor and the appt is tmr. Hope to reach somewhere with the session :)
All the best! It definitely helps, based on my own experience. Do remember that it takes time, 1 session isn’t probably going to fix everything, but its a great start. :)
Singapore isn’t a place where people with mental health are welcome. There’re so much stereotype and negativity towards these people. Please, anyone who has met someone who’s dealing with issues, be supportive and understanding. Take their hand and comfort them, bring them happiness, make them feel welcome!
i think exactly like zhin does. it makes me feel so bad when i second guess my friends, but i really was confused and i thought they didn’t like me or something, so i just cut them off and didn’t talk to them. they were really worried and sent me many messages and i was even more confused because i couldn’t tell if they genuinely liked me or not. but they didn’t give up even when i cut them off, and i realised that they were true friends. the guilt i’m having is so much, and i am still always angry at myself for still second guessing them
@@ParamountPepper well, I keep them to myself and I’m my own therapist. That’s why if you’re my friend who just suddenly visits my house without me knowing, sometimes you can hear me talking to myself

This video left me in tears. Thank you for being honest and opening up about your individual life. It makes me realize that everyone goes through bad days and it's okay. I am grateful for this episode of Singaporeans Try.
I applaud their bravery and strength to step forward & to do what must've been one of the most challenging episodes ever. Placing their personal lives at the forefront for all to see is not easy.
By far the best episode on TSL. Thank you Jeslene, Zhin and Renae for sharing your stories. It is not easy and I am grateful for this. I wish the world will one day break the stigma of mental illness and be inclusive. It will save so many people contemplating suicide and actually committing suicide.
Thank you for making this video, I myself have been in therapy for 4 months now and I can't explain how it's has help me become a better person and how to care for not only myself but the ppl around me once again thank you
Kudos to everyone who opened up to contribute to opening up on mental health. Takes an intense amount of effort to step out and speak about all the troubles they had hidden in them for years. Xx
Really appreciate yall making this video, TSL. Mental health shouldn't be a taboo topic, and like Zhin said, going for therapy shows that someone is actively trying to improve themselves and get out of their rut, like how we go to the doctor when we have a flu. Just because we don't see the problem (like a broken bone or a cut) doesn't mean it's not real. Society needs to do away with the stigma related to therapy and start regarding mental health as a legitimate issue.
Big thank you to Zhin, Renae and Jeslene for having the courage to share very personal issues in your life. Just want to say you are not broken, you are loved and you matter. ❤❤ ❤ Your courage to share will inspire others to seek help if needed as well. Appreciate your efforts in making this video👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Thank you for this episode, TSL. It takes so much courage for you to be in front of the camera to go through the therapy sessions and let us, the viewers, know what you guys have been going through. It's education for those of us who are clueless to mental health problems and comfort to those who are suffering. To the three of you who came forward with your issues, you're never alone.
Thank you so much for doing this special video. It is so important to stress upon the importance of mental health, especially since there are still people in society who treat mental issues as taboo, which is unhealthy and damaging to individuals and society as well.
Beauty? They are so brave to say out their personal problems to public Respect Thank you TSL for spreading this awareness to the public And thank you to the members for telling your personal problems to us
this must not have been the easiest to do but thank you for sharing your stories and struggles. I've only started seeking therapy in June this year, after years of struggling and despite having attempted suicide in 2015, I still told myself to believe that it's a passing phase and was too embarrassed/shy/afraid. the stigma behind seeking help for mental health issues is really still strong and I really hope this video can encourage anyone and everyone who is struggling, to reach out. thank you TSL for this video, and our three participants, for their strength and resilience in pushing through despite these challenges.
Thank you TSL for sharing this, as a person struggling with such issues, I can resonate with all of them. Really hope that all of you are coping well!:)
Thank you TSL for shedding light on a topic like mental health. I hope you continue to do more of these as well as other videos talking about other important but under discussed issues in our society!
I’m still learning to get over my prev relationship, being hated by ppl and it’s really tough. I tried killing myself, I self harm but I did end up realising, that’s not how I should live. Something that kept me going now, is to be able to help more people... I’m doing pretty fine now I’d say... It’s such a heavy episode but a really meaningful one.
This is amazing! Thank you TSL for this. Going for therapy should never be something embarrassing. It is very normal to seek help and therapy is a place you can do just that. I hope this video breaks down walls and misconceptions of mental health and everyone can be more receptive in dealing with so called awkward conversations about mental health. It is very normal. It is in us and we should all embrace it as a whole community.
This is very relatable, for those of you who say don't try to fake your smile for anybody else well is not that simple because society is judgemental as hell. We fake our smile is to be approachable and professional.
You’re not alone and I know this doesn’t mean anything and wouldn’t mean anything when you read it. But just know that you’re not alone and as strangers, me and the other two commenter above bother to comment means we really care even though we do not know you. I know how you feel, I have the same thought as you.
Nicole Liang hey it’s perfectly normal, there are many people thinking the same too. But there’s one difference between you and the people who have taken their lives: you still have another chance of making a change in your life and see it turn out differently. Haven’t you wondered how it could have turn out differently? Once you have passed through this stage (albeit a very hard stage) of life, everything will be so much easier, your perspective of life will be so much different, victory would taste so much sweeter too! Don’t give up NICOLE LIANG! You can do it! I am trying my best too!

Been contemplating going for therapy for a long while, but didn't know what to expect and how it can actually help. Watching this clarifies many doubts of mine and makes me feel more comfortable going into therapy. Thankful to the team for creating this and grateful to Jes, Zhin and Renae for sharing their stories. It must have taken lots of courage and strength on their part.
hello! just wanted to pop by and say. that while I'm not the best example. but I only started seeing a psychologist in June this year. like you I was very worried, not knowing what to expect and it took me about 3-4 sessions to actually start feeling that yeah, this might actually work??? it's not an easy task and seeking help is an incredibly brave step so kudos to you! sending ❤
jes is me rn, after my break up with my girlfriend last november after 2.5 years it killed me internally. whatever shes said its what ive felt and it really opened my eyes on the things youve never seen and then seeing it after the whole breakup, aint used to being single because i never learnt self love and its hard now.
Thank you TSL, Jes, Zhin, Renae for sharing about mental health. It's topic that resonates within so many, yet it is still a taboo one. Hoping that people will learn to be more understanding towards each other. When you are about to drown, seek help, you are not alone.
Thank you Jes,Zhin,Renae for being so open and honest about what y'all been going through. I'm reading this book by Ellen Hendriksen "How To Be Yourself" and thought might be useful to share as it opens up my mind to understand myself better. I feel that through reading, it gives us the reassurance and the peace that we need. Let's continue to be brave, being our authentic self.
I want to see a part 2 for this topic where maybe the therapist can give tips to us that have friends facing the same issues. Most of the time, friends having such mental stresses would be shy or in denial of their mental issues and having us telling them to meet a therapist would just make us look like the "bad guy" or being "ignorant" in their eyes, pushing us further away from them.
Tbh this is one of the best tsl videos ive ever watched, but it would be better if this video is shorter as in upload 1 person per video :> Tysm for making this, mental health is rlly important & this vid taught me a lot of values. :))
sending all the love, support and genuine care to you three! thank you for sharing your stories and allowing us to relate, everyone has a deep dark fear and side, and to reveal it to the world is surely not easy. but it has helped so so many people take comfort in knowing there are people who struggle out there, and will definitely inspire more to step out and begin a recovery process. stay strong and be unapologetically you!! humans are not perfect, don’t ever feel the need to subject your entire existence to a single person/minority’s passing comment, and know there’s a whole community willing to support you. and for everyone struggling out there, this is a battle we all face, and will all get through, things may look bleak now, but i hope everyone finds the bravery to make the “first step” mentioned.
It's really brave of you guys to step up and share what you guys have been through. It will certainly help a lot of your viewers who watch your video and help to raise more awareness on mental health. Hope that the 3 of you will find a little bit more closure and acceptance in what you guys have been through as well! 😊💕
I really hope there will be more videos like this! Maybe a video talking about the costs of therapy and what are the available options for help for mental health could help Singaporeans, I know many people who struggle not with just acknowledging they need help but also finding accessible help. Hopefully it’s smth to consider!
It how nice to do a video about mental health, so many people would be afraid to come into touch with mental health as they are afraid, I came from a suicidal survivor, yet I am now trying to be strong :)
I feel that the one that is difficult to step out of the zone will be Jeslene. Although I think it is possible that at the start, actually both have different views towards bisexuality, or rather not as much as what she seems to have thought of. But this constant factor was being pushed aside, especially when that moment of time where you feel that this person can relate to you and understand you more than any other person you have met. That kind of attraction will be something that almost everyone have difficulty to resist on. So after that you will self-resolute towards having the moment of period where both of you had been together, and wished you had; that you turn into your inner insecurities. That you shelled yourself out from the rest. So for this kind of person is that their first courage to really step out and get hold of yourself and find back your own identity. This process itself is already a hard step for them to move on. While Zhin's case was actually easier, as I think it's a common pressing issue in this current generation. That people just want to see the good stuffs, the best side of them to the world. That people starts to live in this kind of facade of themselves, that they have lost their own identity. That they questioned themselves, "Do they really know who I am?", "You won't understand even if I have explained it." kind of situations. You will start to think more than usual, scenarios comes up to you more often. Additional thinking of 'what if', are just toxic to the mental health. It's a vicious cycle, of self doubt and questioning events might not even happen at all. Good that you have taken the attempt of digital detox. This kind of people you have to just talk to them more, and share their same level of understanding, and show them the other side of the scenario of what would have been. They will eventually be enlightened and slowly correct themselves. It's okay to at times get lost, to self-resolute, to be vulnerable of yourself. Being a man doesn't have to put on a strong front, even though of social stigma that men should maintain their masculinity. Being weak is being true to yourself as well. Renae's case is also easier, work stress is also another common issue here in Singapore. It has become a pattern here in Singapore, more often than not now you're working on a social media industry. Judgemental comments of various opinions will definitely come out. As much as Millennial tries to open to the kind of freedom of speech. Opening a mail before you're preparing to go for bed is like opening a Pandora Box. The kind of attraction to know what they are going to say, will give you that urge to want and be curious. So down here, is more about discipline and really keep reminding yourself that sometimes things are just voices, but not a reflection of what you should be and must be. However this reminding issue can also sometimes backfire, as you start to blame yourself for being harsh on yourself again. Just have to be more ease, and cool about it will do. You do you.
Sending love to all of them, especially Jes. I hope you find your crew - one that consists of people who love and accept you just the way you are, one where you can be entirely yourself around without fearing their judgement.

Unfortunately is isn't just Singapore but all over the world mental health has stereotypes.
i think exactly like zhin does. it makes me feel so bad when i second guess my friends, but i really was confused and i thought they didn’t like me or something, so i just cut them off and didn’t talk to them. they were really worried and sent me many messages and i was even more confused because i couldn’t tell if they genuinely liked me or not. but they didn’t give up even when i cut them off, and i realised that they were true friends. the guilt i’m having is so much, and i am still always angry at myself for still second guessing them
I would say I have similar problems which is why I always thought of going to therapy but no 💲 😂
@@ParamountPepper well, I keep them to myself and I’m my own therapist. That’s why if you’re my friend who just suddenly visits my house without me knowing, sometimes you can hear me talking to myself
It’s so brave, to see them allow themselves to be exposed to the public eye like this with such personal feelings. It’s not easy, they are seriously so brave.
the professional therapist was so professional and so so sensitive in everything she said so thank u for that :')
Please feel my hug from wherever you are. Thank you for sharing your stories. You are so brave for doing that and may this video opens up more conversations on mental health.
Thanks for making an episode about mental health, let's let more people know and start caring about it
zhin's story hit me the hardest.. thank you for this.
praying and hoping for everyone being able to heal soon.
a thank you for having this ep done tsl and also Jes, Zhin and Renae for being so brave to confront your past again :) also, i think Belinda the counselor deserves the credit/appreciation due for being so professional, sensitive towards their emotions as well as approachable for each individual to feel comfortable sharing on their own will!! :) not every counselor is able to do that so good job Belinda!!!!!
Thanks Zhin,Renae and Jes for sharing and letting TSL film it. I feel like I can relate to Zhin as sometimes I second thought my friends and I always feel bad about it
i’m barely five mins in and i’m alr starting to cry from how relatable this is
This video left me in tears. Thank you for being honest and opening up about your individual life. It makes me realize that everyone goes through bad days and it's okay. I am grateful for this episode of Singaporeans Try.
god i cried when jes cried 🥴
Xx
Behind every smile is there is another story not that everyone sees.
Thank you TSL for doing this video. More needs to see this!
Big thank you to Zhin, Renae and Jeslene for having the courage to share very personal issues in your life. Just want to say you are not broken, you are loved and you matter. ❤❤ ❤
Your courage to share will inspire others to seek help if needed as well. Appreciate your efforts in making this video👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Thank you TSL for this video, to be part of breaking the stigma. And kudos to the three of them. Take care everyone ❤️
props to them for allowing this to be filmed
Tese guys are brave to put out themselves in front of everyone exposed. Respect
Thank you for this episode, TSL. It takes so much courage for you to be in front of the camera to go through the therapy sessions and let us, the viewers, know what you guys have been going through. It's education for those of us who are clueless to mental health problems and comfort to those who are suffering. To the three of you who came forward with your issues, you're never alone.
they are so brave by coming out and talking about their problems i really hope that everything will be better for them stay strong ❤
Thank you so much for doing this special video. It is so important to stress upon the importance of mental health, especially since there are still people in society who treat mental issues as taboo, which is unhealthy and damaging to individuals and society as well.
im so proud of them for being able to do this :
More love to you people, i have also started seeing a therapist. Everything will be fine
Beauty?
They are so brave to say out their personal problems to public
Respect
Thank you TSL for spreading this awareness to the public
And thank you to the members for telling your personal problems to us
Thank for sharing i been through those day where you are having social anxiety.
same here.....
Speaking out and getting help is so important. So inspired by this video. Thank you for this!
Thank you for bringing this up TSL!
im watching halfway and my heart is breaking
Lots of love for everyone here and TSL
Know that when there are dark skies, there will be day break
And pls remember
YOU are worthy of being here
To love every inch of yourself
As you are - you are worthy
this must not have been the easiest to do but thank you for sharing your stories and struggles.
Wow! I learnt so much about Zhin. I didn’t know he had those kind of thoughts. This episode really warmed my heart 🥺
Thanks for sharing your vulnerabilities so openly, takes a lot of courage. Therapy is powerful & not as scary as you think
God i cried when zhin teared, god bless all of them. They’re such wonderful humans.
Awesome content. Everyone needs to see this. Especially older-gen parents.
this is the best video tsl has ever produced
I’m still learning to get over my prev relationship, being hated by ppl and it’s really tough. I tried killing myself, I self harm but I did end up realising, that’s not how I should live. Something that kept me going now, is to be able to help more people... I’m doing pretty fine now I’d say... It’s such a heavy episode but a really meaningful one.
Thanks jes , your problems really got me in my feels . Very relatable , and ouch my heart . Love you Jes
You know... this is so timely... especially when I was seriously thinking about taking my life
Nicole Liang stay strong 💪
Nicole, stay strong u got this man!! find ppl to talk to!
Hi, if you are keen, you can refer to this link: www.aware.org.sg/womens-care-centre/counselling/ hope it helps and wish you good day
Thanks tsl! As a person suffering with GDA, I thank you for bringing awareness to this topic
Heavy content... But good content... I am a person who watch it fast so the quality is so good when it is fast...

I LOVE YOU SO MUCH

i love you so guys so much❤️
I'm not supposed to be watching this at work. Because I'm going to start to cry.
It must have taken lots of courage and strength on their part.
hello!
just wanted to pop by and say. that while I'm not the best example. but I only started seeing a psychologist in June this year.
like you I was very worried, not knowing what to expect and it took me about 3-4 sessions to actually start feeling that yeah, this might actually work???
it's not an easy task and seeking help is an incredibly brave step so kudos to you! sending ❤
Thank you TSL for this video.
It resonated with me.
Thank you to the 3 courageous people who were willing to share their stories.
Kudos to all 3 of y'all for opening up, takes alot of guts to do so.. keep pressing on y'all ❤️
Omg why must you choose these people. They’re my favourites. Nice to hear their stories.
Edit, also good job 👍🏻
Thank you TSL for this video and so proud of the 3 casts to share their stories with us :)
jes is me rn, after my break up with my girlfriend last november after 2.5 years it killed me internally. whatever shes said its what ive felt and it really opened my eyes on the things youve never seen and then seeing it after the whole breakup, aint used to being single because i never learnt self love and its hard now.
Thank you Jes, Zhin & Ranae so much.. so much 💕💕💕
We can all do this and improve ourselves !
I like that they mentioned the stigma of therapy and that people would judge you for it.
Tbh this is one of the best tsl videos ive ever watched, but it would be better if this video is shorter as in upload 1 person per video :>
Tysm for making this, mental health is rlly important & this vid taught me a lot of values. :))
sending all the love, support and genuine care to you three! thank you for sharing your stories and allowing us to relate, everyone has a deep dark fear and side, and to reveal it to the world is surely not easy. but it has helped so so many people take comfort in knowing there are people who struggle out there, and will definitely inspire more to step out and begin a recovery process. stay strong and be unapologetically you!! humans are not perfect, don’t ever feel the need to subject your entire existence to a single person/minority’s passing comment, and know there’s a whole community willing to support you. and for everyone struggling out there, this is a battle we all face, and will all get through, things may look bleak now, but i hope everyone finds the bravery to make the “first step” mentioned.
It's really brave of you guys to step up and share what you guys have been through. It will certainly help a lot of your viewers who watch your video and help to raise more awareness on mental health. Hope that the 3 of you will find a little bit more closure and acceptance in what you guys have been through as well! 😊💕
I can relate to parts of each of their stories. 😭
I really hope there will be more videos like this! Maybe a video talking about the costs of therapy and what are the available options for help for mental health could help Singaporeans, I know many people who struggle not with just acknowledging they need help but also finding accessible help. Hopefully it’s smth to consider!
Isabelle Leong there’s a link in the description and maybe it would be helpful for u ? :)
It how nice to do a video about mental health, so many people would be afraid to come into touch with mental health as they are afraid, I came from a suicidal survivor, yet I am now trying to be strong :)
Yeah great to see Joyce back, its been while
I feel that the one that is difficult to step out of the zone will be Jeslene.
I hope you find your crew - one that consists of people who love and accept you just the way you are, one where you can be entirely yourself around without fearing their judgement.
no doubt best Singaporeans try video certainly cleared and also brought up stigmas regarding therapy and mental health generally. also insightful how viewer can take a back seat and view from a third person pov and see how negative we can be to ourselves. kuddos to the entire team and cast !!
Heavy stuff for my tender heart! Loved the therapist such a good listener :) Guys if your reading this please try your best to spread positivism in your life. Sometimes, I mean 95% of our time focus on yourself first you are so important and precious to everyone around yoU!! have a good day cheers :))
thank u guys for opening up and I know is hard to survive in this world but just keep on fighting for it , u all can do it and thank u for living until right now you’re brave 🙂
i know this video was like months ago but this made me cry real bad at 2.30am...
thank you so much tsl for really making an effort to raise awareness of how therapy is so important to people like me who has really been frustrated for just being myself. Thank you really much♥
Omg. I relate to Zhin so much. And I really needed to see this episode. Makes my realise everyone goes through things.
Extremely late to this video, but I just wanted to say that I could really relate to everything Zhin said even though we're very different people. it's hard to build trust when you've been hurt in the past and perhaps those feelings will haunt us for as long as we live, I can only hope he is in a much better place now where those intrusive thoughts no longer have a place in his life. Let's do our best
i absolutely loved it so much. thank you so much to jes, zhin and renae for being brave enough to do this and especially in front of the cameras. this is such a much needed video to raise awareness for mental health and i am so grateful you guys did this ❤️❤️
Thanks for sharing this. Appreciate all the effort and vulnerability poured into this video.
In short, understand everyone's situation around you
