Reminds me of my 2nd grade teacher.....I was struggling to learn to read, but she wouldn't give up on me, wouldn't allow me to give up, and gave me a lot of personal assistance and encouragement. In Middle-School, I was told by my learning aide that I was reading at a college level. The fact that there are people like her restores some of my faith in humanity.
That was such a uplifting story, and real. It tells me that, whatever the past was, you can see her now straight in the eyes with pride and confidence, being a successful entrepreneur. Your demeanor reveals that you are a true leader.
I have deep respects for teachers. When I was in school in 1962, my teachers were awesome and they taught me how to be a better person. Well done, Jasper. I am very happy for you. Stay blessed.
for us in the learning and teaching industry, nothing beats the feeling of pride when the student surpasses the teacher. It feels like we did a great job. I think im not the only one who does not care whether they remember us or not. We are just happy that we became a part of their lives.
There is another teacher (Yap Poh Siok Lian) also will go through the extra mile to help students very weak in engineering maths. She used to teach in SP (Spore Poly). She will personally sit beside the student to teach maths. Make me and my friend so pai seh last time. We love her. Excellent Teacher!
My dad lost his job in 2008 too. It really hurt our lives too. I'm so glad you were able to turn your life around thanks to this wonderful woman! It's amazing to see how people can have similar experiences all over the world.
I’m in the US and I was 16 in 2007 when we lost our home. That was difficult, not because we had to move but it’d been my great grandma’s house since the early 70s. Unfortunately my mom had to remortgage it to cover bills and repairs, and then she lost her job. 2007-2009 was just as bad as 2020, I swear.
There is no better feeling as an educator when previous students seek you out no matter if it's only been a few months or a few years. Hyst to simply see you and say hi to you because they thought of you.
Wow!. Thank you Miss Lim. You have changed a person's life with your genuine care, now he is a blessing to many more. This ia so touching. for that young man tk still recignize that, apeaks of his charachter. He will be more successful. Wishing him all the best!
So happy for you, handsome young man. So good to see Grateful people and happy touched faces of your teacher. Indeed a model for 'lost' guys and gals..not to give up..and for all of them to treasure the Ms.Lee in their lives!
Amazing teachers ❤❤❤❤. All these kids are very smart and kind . it’s the circumstances that makes a person to commit crime . I wish them all the very best ❤. Let the universe bless these teachers with excellent health , prosperity and peace in their life . They are the pillars of our society
Respect. To Ms. Lim. To Jasper. To a society that facilitated Jasper to have himself educated to a higher level and become successful. And to tax payers and people choosing politicians in the elections that all together accomplish this. That's not trivial as some very wealthy countries make very bad choices in this respect.
there are teachers & there are those such as Ms Lim. I wish we have much more like Ms Lim. Some of the teachers that I've come across should be kept away from any students
❤A wonderful story of how 1 person’s dedication changed a juvenile to excel and be the man today… It would have been wonderful to see Jasper compensate the hurt he caused to the taxi driver and his family especially now that he has a successful business. Hopefully that taxi driver is well and alive after that robbery. ❤️🙏🎄
Although I was just like him as a kid, i was unfortunate to not get a teacher like this in my life, but knowing teachers like this exist makes me so happy and I wanna congratulate her for what she did ❤ and also to him for changing his life ❤️🩹❤️🩹

My favorite drink is coke, now I totally cut it off because getting too expensive. Change ur inner self first, the harder u work, the luckier u get.

There's an old "Peanuts" cartoon along the lines of: "What do teachers make, Charlie Brown?" . . . "They make a difference, Peppermint Patty. They make a difference." Personally, I think teaching is like planting seeds; some grow into beautiful plants and flowers but some get washed away by storms, perhaps to take root in a different location.
Shout out to Mr Kan, taught physics in Jurongville Secondary School in 2008, said that i confirm won't pass my physics, still remember the way that loser said it
How do you know he did nothing? How do people like you have the audacity to decide that unless you approve of someone's growth, it's not worth it? It's marvelous how social media and the anonymity it provides emboldens people like yourself to act holier than thou and caste judgements on others for making mistakes in life. You're responding to a report of a news channel, not the person whose featured in it. Unlike you, this man had the guts to acknowledge the wrong things he did in his life. Unlike you, he took ownership of his life and chose to become better. Unlike you, he's not wasting his time judging other people on social media.
It makes a great story, touching and all but sometimes, people just need to see the coffin if not they won’t shed tears. Truthfully this could be the story of every resident in there but only a very small percentage of residents can actually change with advice and guidance. The rest just need to experience the harsh truth of reality once if their lucky and a few times if they are not to know life isn’t a game where u can press the restart button and every passing second they choose not to take other people’s goodwill can be years or even decades worth of regret that they will never be able to get back. These people helping them are being paid to help, now where are they gonna find the same kind of help and guidance from those outside the home who are not paid to?
Assault charges got many levels. Say if you slap a person on the street, but he’s not bleeding or got no broken bones, police will tell you no criminal charge and ask you go file civil suit if you want to pursue further. Basically in legal terms, there’s criteria to be met before it can qualify as a criminal act. I guess he didn’t whack the taxi uncle hard enough.

It's really rare to see a teacher who really cares and doesn't give up on students. And Jasper really did well and moved on with his life!
It's not rare. People just don't pay attention. Teachers aren't respected or valued anymore.

Very cool, good job young man
Teachers are second parents who prepare us for a life in society.
Filipino helpers are very caring and great!
when I was a kid, the feeling of getting the result on a "Prove X" question was so good

Sadly success cases are far and few. Most who fall through the cracks go on to lead a sad life and the cycle continues with their offsprings.

You should still be in jail for beating that taxi driver. I dont see any remorse
Why do Singaporeans sound like "Uncle Roger"? 😅
Uncle Roger sound more like he is from Hong Kong not Singapore beside you he is faking his accent which I am sure we all know.
not all singaporeans talk the same way too
1) uncle roger started out with heavy stereotypical hongkong accent.
2)uncle roger is from malaysia
3) singapore and malaysia are neighbours.
You should had contacted the taxi driver also and ask for forgiveness
😂he should be left to rot in jail
