    For my road King Custom, I could never find anything from other brands that worked well with my leather covered bags. They either didn't clean well or look right after application. The Harley Leather Conditioner (use clear) just works best for me. Always looks good and gives a good appearance.

    I just did my 16 year old trunk bag from LeatherPros. Their cleaning/ conditioning products are not available in Australia so I used Saddlesoap (as used by horse rider's on their seats) and conditioned with Dubbin. It came out a treat and I didn't have to pay the Harley tax.

    what to use if the leather (saddle) is very stiff and the black is worn off in places?

    • @LowCountryHarleyDavidson
      @LowCountryHarleyDavidson  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hard/Stiff Leather
      1. Always clean first (dawn soap/microfiber or soft wipes).
      2. H-D trim/saddlebag cleaner - soak and repeat, wipe off excess.
      3. If "2" doesn't help enough, baseball glove oil (designed to soften leather and help it reform/stretch).
      4. Harley leather protectant for light colored leather. H-D black leather protectant for Black/Grey leather.
      Patch/Delaminated Leather (Black Leather)
      1. Clean (soap/rag)
      2. H-D trim/sattlebag cleaner
      3. H-D Black Leather Protector (or H-D black plastic/inner fairing restorer) (plastic restorer is thicker, may work better for some delaminated leathers)

      Thanks
      Would saddle soap help to get the flexibility back?
      It has areas that have black missing (down to brown leather) needs to be re-dyed.
      Thx
      Robert

    • @LowCountryHarleyDavidson
      @LowCountryHarleyDavidson  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@robertm.divincenzo7954 Any leather product containing Lanolin will help to bring back flexibility, and saddle soap has it as well. Thinner, more liquid products like glove oil may work better because they soak in more easily. Try leaving the saddlebag and saddle soap out in the sun and it might soak in. Black leather conditioner or black shoe polish may help hide the areas where the leather is flaking.
