  • Brief video detailing the Boss 302 manifold install. I forgot to explain in the video some of the symptoms of an actual manifold runner issue. Basically you'll have a loss of power above 2500 RPMs or something like that. I couldn't pass a bus on the interstate the day before I swapped the manifold. If you have questions, feel free to ask and I'll do my best to help you out. Thanks for watching!

    Nope ford still haven’t fixed it lol! 4000 units on back order. My intake crapped out p2007 code gave me a reason to get boss 302 intake! I bought kit from stage3motorsport, with KN cold air intake, turner and 2 tunes. The manifold already had map sensor installed on back thank God. Getting ready to install it. Awesome video! Greatly appreciated!

    Hey i keep coming back to this. Did you have to buy 5/8 hose for the hose that snakes down and zip tied under the manifold. Or did you use the oem hose and just dangled it with a zip tie. Thanks!

    What size (diameter) heater hose and adapters did u need?
    Did you use a certain size vac hose onto the tank EVAP purge solenoid? That was the part u had to unbolt by the TBody with the vac hose and connector plug attached. The BOSS doesn't have provisions for it

    • @xxbassman57xxdoes11

      I want to say it was 3/4" with male to male adapters. I don't recall needing any vac hoses for that evap solenoid. That's the part that we ziptied underneath the manifold and I know everything connected right back up. So I'm not sure.

    So a bit of a dilemma. For the cable that snakes under the throttle body...my buddy has somehow misplaced it. Everything else is ready to go. In case its missing with all my left socks, will a 5/8 tube work with clamps or does it need to be specific?

    Is there a difference between the Boss 302 intake 5 star tuning has listed on their site and a Boss 302 intake you can get from like jegs or summit. Wasn’t sure if 5 star made any modifications to make it fit vs the same manifold with the same part number on a different site

    • @xxbassman57xxdoes11
      @xxbassman57xxdoes11  ปีที่แล้ว

      Usually they're the same. They'll specifically call out if it's ported or not. Just yesterday, 5Star told me they epoxy the MAP sensor into place vs you having to drill and do it yourself. But they don't call that out on their site. So it's best to call them directly.

      @@xxbassman57xxdoes11 sounds like I’ll have to do that. I seen the intake they offer is way more expensive than if you search the part number they had for it on other sites and it being cheaper. When you installed this on your truck did you have any trouble with the fuel rail? I feel like i didnt install it correctly some way some how . Everything got plugged back in , including evap sensor from original manifold like you did under throttle body all hose’s everything seemed to have been sealed good and nothing leaked . But truck did not want to start afterwards. It tried to turn over first time i cranked it and then it had trouble second time and finally started. Then i let it run thinking it needed time to adjust but no it actually ran like complete shit and now im starting over and making sure i do everything right . I think my problem was in the fuel rail when i installed it

    • @xxbassman57xxdoes11
      @xxbassman57xxdoes11  ปีที่แล้ว

      If fuel leaked from the rails when you pulled it off, then it would crank a while until it filled again. I cycled my key a few times to have the fuel pump run and mine started right away. If you're still having problems after an initial start, there's something going on

    • @TheRaven_302
      @TheRaven_302 ปีที่แล้ว

      This time i took everything off and im starting over , i started over a few hours ago . I lost a clip that fell off fuel rail for injectors and one o ring at the end if it so i have to get that before trying to re install . Other then that the fuel rail should just snap in place once the manifold is in the truck? I know the fuel rail needs to be on the manifold first before trying to install but once its in place does it need to snap in or just bolt down?

    Why didn't you go with a Coyote intake manifold? Your engine is a generation 2, a new intake would be generation 3, plus a tune is required. Any issues since you put it in?

    • @xxbassman57xxdoes11
      @xxbassman57xxdoes11  ปีที่แล้ว

      The Boss is a coyote manifold. The different generations can use the various intake manifolds with different modifications. Any manifold swap that isn't completely stock to your vehicle would require a tune. I have had zero issues with the Boss. Been really happy with it. I've been chasing a misfire recently and I thought it was a vacuum leak but it seems to be VCT solenoid related. Will report back.
