As a petrus main, *Petrus is NOT garbage at all!* Petrus has the lowest movecount out of the "big 4", so if you struggle with TPS, it can definitely be a good method (roux has M-flicks, which not everybody is good at.) Yes blockbuilding is kinda un-ergonomic, but considering you never need more than 15 moves for 2x2x3, it makes up for it. Try it. The only problem is lack of resources.
Hey thanks for watching :)
The argument "roux has M-flicks, which not everybody is good at" is not a valid argument. You could say that CFOP has M-flicks during EPLL (U-perms, H-perm, Z-perm), which not everybody is good at. The solution to that is to simply learn M-flicks. You could say: CFOP has F2L, which not everybody is good at. It doesn't mean anything because cubers are constantly learning new things.
Blockbuilding is unergonomic in every method that uses it, so that cancels out as a factor when comparing blockbuilding methods. I see your point with 15 moves for a 2x2x3 block (which solves 7 pieces, excluding centers), but Roux F2B solves 10 pieces excluding centers in about the same amount of moves. That being said, there are definitely some improvements for petrus, like Athefre's APB algset. It's an alright method, I use it sometimes when I see an easy 2x2x2 block. Maybe not garbage, but still pretty low in my opinion.
Big 4 are now big 2 I guess
petrus avg 50moves roux 45 moves bruh
@@devanshkandwal2008 big 3 axualy... but petrus is still far up there as being the one with the least moves possible
Axualy?
Bro I discovered your channel like 5 week ago and I have the same passion as you : cube methods! And making a tiere list of methods is a very cool concept
I like how being highly algorithmic is great for all methods, except for roux, that is great because it's highly intuitive 😂
As you can tell, my list is completely without flaws or bias of any kind 😎
It’s good for methods to have an intuitive start, because you can optimally plan it
@@KaelHitchcock I'm in your discord lmao
Very underrated vid.......I definitely think you got most of the main points in every method. In general one of the most clear vids on TH-cam.
I just thought of a method but I don’t know if it already exists. I need someone to tell me if it does. First, build a layer-1 edge(like in waterman) then, intuitively make the opposite layer -1 edge (still like waterman). Put those layers on the left and right. Then, do an alg that solves both remaining edges on those two layers. You should be left with just the m-slice. Do an alg to orient the m-slice. Finally, solve the m-slice.
I don't think Petrus should've been ranked as garbage. it's definitely memed on but it has a lot of the same advantages ZZ has but starts with block building instead of EO. also: the block building can be fairly similar to roux at some points.
Not everyone likes ZZ
@@JamesonJamestackSwick I didn't say everyone did...?
so basically ZZ but 10 seconds slower
@@ThePersonWhoAsked69420 considering there are 10 second Petrus averages: that’s a huge compliment to ZZ
Bro’s stuck in 2005
Where do you think Nautilus would rank on this list? I use Roux, but I’ve been thinking of switching to L5E Nautilus.
well somehow i didnt get the notification about this until just now lol
I would like to see cuber Kodakun making this tierlist. He is like a master in every method.
0:40 I like how the green pieces on your jacket is transparent
Green screen 😂
Finally somebody who see ZZ's variants potential.
i like zz too.
The other thing about the corners method, every piece except the last 4 corners can be solved intuitively, so it's great for teaching someone how to solve the cube.
2:33 a majority of the speed cubers are angry
honestly, nonsense
roux: completely intuitive so godly
haise: completely intuitive so garbage
zz: has too many variants one has to be good
this gotta be the worst arguments I've ever seen
Roux is godly, because is intuitive
Heise is garbage, because is intuitive
And CFOP is medium, because has rotations, whut?
Also you said that Speed Heise ends with 3 corner commutator, which is intuitive, therefore bad. Like, bruh. I guess all top blinders could be faster, if only they learned algorithms for those cases, instead doing them intuitively each time. Oh, wait, they do them algorithmically.
How do you spell mehatau method? Btw amazing video, you are so creative with designing new methods!
Thanks :)) It’s Mehta, though it’s an Indian word so the H is kind of pronounced twice like mehuhtah
I agree but I feel like cfop should be put a bit higher it has a lot of resources and recognition with it's algorithms and tricks. And you can do it rotation less with certain F2l tricks. And it has a lot of expansions including Summer Variation, COLL and a lot more. It's also what has been setting all the 3x3 WRs.
My custom method :
EPBOSD
1. Eo : EO
2. Pseudo : “Pseudo Side” e.g. a white side with some yellow pieces
3. Belt : Belt
4. Oll : OLL
5. Seperation : Seperation, e.g. 5x5 centers
6. Dual Pll : Do both of the plls
Edit:
Left block, EO, rightblock, corners, L6E works too as a custom method
Isnt that just cfop with more steps?
I like how ZB is bad because it has too many algorithms but Water Roux is godly... lol
Objectively optimal
Wait, water roux wasn’t on this list 👁👄👁
@@RowanFortier Oops I meant LMCF
@@kerkare good only if you're good at recognizing each zbll.
You got the pronunciation of Mehta right! Also glad to see Mehta in the god tier :)

So much knowledge!
bro zipper is the best method thank you for putting it in godly tear
What is name of last method and the method with no picture please search
Hey, I love Petras I don't actually know it though I tried learning it. It was cool
How is ZB worse than CFOP?
It's actually incredible to solve last pair + last layer in 2 algs!
Probably bc ZBLS is a trash set
@@Luna77543 hellllllll nah
@@spinnyboijesus it is pretty bad, especially if you’re doing it slot neutral
Why CFOP in Medium, like most of professional cubers use it, so why did you put it so low.
In the beginning of the video I mentioned that the video was about how good the methods were theoretically. And there are a lot of methods that are theoretically better than CFOP, even though the fastest speedsolvers currently do use CFOP
Why did you put Heise in garbage tier? Xd
hey! petrus is cool for single handed!
I think PDQF should be down a tier because there is parity and x2 rotations.
my meathod: 2x2 then 3x3.
steps: solve the 2x2 state.
explanation: do i even need to explain?
steps: solve the 3x3 state.
not mine
Nice do you mean like solve the corners first, and then the edges?
You forgot the beginner method, I use it called the Daisy method it doesn't really matter though I'm learning new ones
did you consider Mehta-TDR as part of Mehta?
Mehta-TDR is much faster than regular Mehta, also there is Mehta-OS
@@voidrxreal I did Mehta-os
@@RowanFortier I think that the original version of Mehta is Mehta-6CP. Mehta-OS is different because there are more alg sets and you might not always go down the 6CP path, you might decide to do DCAL or some other path, depending on the solve
@@voidrxreal that’s correct :)
@@RowanFortier also why did you quit Mehta? i saw your post on the discord server.
great video, BUT in my opinion Roux is godly (maybe because I use Roux...)
The LEOR method is actually just APB in a different order
Sad petrus noises. For the F2L i use petrus to build a 2x2x3, then insert the final piece of the cross, and insert the last two pairs as CFOP.
I find it easier to plan the 2x2x2 and then expand to 2x2x3, than planning the cross and look for the first 2 pairs.
oooh, nice! Petrus-CFOP hybrid, I like it!
@@kerkare Petrus is amazing.
kinda similar to building an xcross
I'm confused what's the difference between leor and petrus
What about APB?
where would RUbar rank?
Thank you!
how could you put cfop in good
We should have a remastered version
If you don't know why CFOP is in medium it is because of its algorithm abuse (78 algs in total)
So you mean lat layer algs or full cfop is 120
ZB is actually my main method but I don't know full ZBLL
ZBLL is a requirement for ZB
It’s gonna take you a 100 years to learn all the algs.
@@thecubingprofessor4503 yeah probably
@@lukascubes9132 if you did learn everything that would be legendary.
@@thecubingprofessor4503 i know just over 100 ZBLLs then took like a 2 month break. Hopefully by tomorrow I can start learning again.
Nice vid
what about 1 look (43 quintillion algs)
And whats the one best method
Roux ( in my opinion )
Bro cfop literally broke all the 3x3 twohanded records what do you mean it is medium? it is godly
Nah, it's medium, imagine having 78 algs
Siuuu
nacho bro c'mon give Petrus a try yall know Petrus almost become goat before it unpopular for some reason
I half watched this to look for new methods and half so I knew what methods to not learn
Thanks for hearting. I definitely didn't expect it to happen in less than 15 minutes
My favtis Roux
But ZB is rotationless too
Where is 1 look entire solve with 43,000,000,000,000,000,000+ algs.
I think 42 is godly
I was about to comment the same thing twice lol
where is hexagonal fransisco
You didn't do beginers method
first block , eo , cp + belt ,co + u corner , seprate , p2l my new method rank it pls
pog godly
I use petrus and a average 3 seconds faster than cfop but that’s just me
Make tutorial for petrus
Dude for me when I use belt I don't rotate.
That’s impossible… unless you know how to do last layer upside down.
@@victhecuber5956 it's not impossible.
Where's 42 method ahhh
all of them are garbage apart from cfop and roux if we are being honest
based
Thats not 42 thats watterroux bruh
The pictures are kind of ambiguous lol
Why r u such of a hater of the cfop method?
