coming from a ride op ~ this video is a great explanation! i just wish people understood that trains are removed because of downtime, not because we feel like it lmao
I misheard the line at 2:40 as "by use of a witch" and envisioned the ride op employing the help of a woman gripping a crystal in one hand and telekinetically working the train up the track with the other. That aside, great video! I'm a chemist by trade but i've always had a strong engineering interest, and it's fun to see how these systems are designed. Earned a sub.
As a former ride op. This was a fun part of the day esp. the railroad. The steam engine was a very involved process. Big thunder Mountain (Walt Disney World) transfer track/storage is actually of the parks railroad in Frontierland. We had a lot of Arrow's/ Schwarzkopf's @ AstroWorld.
Could have nentioned a few more things here. Like various disney and universal rides have transfer tracks where there is both an "entrance" and an "exit". Kinda like a passing loop on a railway. The Big One at Blackpool pleasure beach has a VERTICAL transfer track, where the trains are stacked below the station and move upwards and downwards.
I like the coasters with turn-table transfer tracks, looks like more and more Mack coasters are going down this route. Seems a lot more efficient than translational transfer tracks.
PLEASE do a video about fury 325 at Carowinds having an entire support break in half while the ride was in operation! I would love to hear your research. The support beam is completely vertical for that section and looks so strange to me considering the g's in that spot.
I cannot be the only person who heard the phrase "late 1900's" and thought, "wtf that's like ancient history" and then felt like I'd been stabbed in my middle-aged heart because he meant the 1980's which is only 20 years or so to me.
For whatever reason, I don’t think I’ve ever seen a transfer occur once at kings island, my home park, which I go to all the time. But every time I go to cedar point, (which as of now I’ve gone 4 times) I see a ride transfer almost every single visit.
There are also elevator-style transfer methods like on Mack Spinner 'Dwervelwind' in Toverland. In the station the track rises and then the train could be lowered into the maintenance area below the ride station (as far I remember)
Big Thunder Mountain at Walt Disney World in florida has a super bizarre transfer track. I am a little confused by how it works, but BTM trains must cross the train tracks of the Walt Disney World railroad to reach the storage track, which is relatively far away from the ride and out of the view of guests.
On big thunder mountain there's a section of track that's lifted up like a drawbridge. It folds down and then trains can cross over the top of the railroad. BTMR also has the rotating type of transfer track pieces
Have you thought about doing a video about notable roller coasters that face a lot of downtime? I recently visited Dollywood and I remember Lightning Rod facing some downtime.
Im trying to find the history of when people started putting their hands up on coasters. Seems like it would make a great video as no one has covered this topic. What was the 1st coster when people started to put thier hands up ? If you are able to find the answer please let me know, and if you make a video on it also let me know. I just have subscribed. Have a great day.
THERE HAS BEEN A ROLLE COASTE ACCIDENT IN SWEDEN GRONA LUND (GRÖNA LUND) 1 DEATH 2 INJURIES(Severity unknown as of now) Do a video about it. R.I.P to everyone who is in the accident in gröna lund and to the familys and friends of the injured and dead🕊🕊🕊
Can you please talk about the accident at Grona Lund on the jetline coaster? Probably too recent to know what happened at the moment tho so maybe in the future? All i can gather from the news is that the ride derailed and several peoole fell out and one person sadly passed away. Also the photo looks like a whole wheel block fell off so probably a maintenance issue.
A very bad coaster accident just happened in Stockholm Sweden, a roller coaster derailed and the track collapsed sending many children and adults out of their seats, many injured
You really had to make Arrow seem like 100 years ago.
I thought the same thing.

I’m surprised people actually think that ride breakdowns, removing a train, etc. happen for no reason
The phrase "late 1900s" makes me feel old.
Got carded the other day and the cashier told me once he saw the first two numbers of my birth year were “19” he knew I was older than 21.
2024-21=2003. Born before 2003 over 21.

Off topic from this video but I finally rode magnum, byfar the best coaster I’ve been on. The finale is just crazy.

I always wondered about the transfer thing. always wanted to see Iron Dragon transfer a train

You're not the only person 😂

One of the biggest accidents ever here in Sweden has occured today at "Jetline" Gröna Lund where atleast one has died and multiple have been injured.
That was sad to hear+ surprising.
@@michaeltaylor1603 very suprising and scary since I was going to visit it in a weeks time. So tragic.
There are also elevator-style transfer methods like on Mack Spinner 'Dwervelwind' in Toverland. In the station the track rises and then the train could be lowered into the maintenance area below the ride station (as far I remember)
Lighting Rod at Dollywood also uses this method
Mystery mine has a elevator transfer track
Big One at Blackpool Pleasure Beach, an arrow hypercoaster has this too.
This is good to know. I never really paid too much attention to this, but from now on, I will.
Very entertaining and fun to watch. Thanks for posting this.

I guess the thing we will be waiting for now is your take on Jetline. What a shock that was.
Rode the midi dance party 360 and the bars were curshing me at least for me
Please bring back flat ride of the week it was soo good and i loved it soo much
Why has no none done a video about the death at Rockin Raceway in Pigeon Forge TN back in 2004?
Bring back GP To Enthusiast!
Have you thought about doing a video about notable roller coasters that face a lot of downtime? I recently visited Dollywood and I remember Lightning Rod facing some downtime.
We need a video about the Schwarzkopf coaster accident in Sweden soon
Once information is available
Do what really happened on jetline at grona Lund after the accident that happened last month
I think you mean "1990s" or "late 20th century" when referring to Arrow, "late 1900s" sounds like 1908!

Should’ve gone over elevator transfers, like ones on mystery mine and lightning Rod!

What game is seen in this video?
A very bad coaster accident just happened in Stockholm Sweden, a roller coaster derailed and the track collapsed sending many children and adults out of their seats, many injured
Are you going to do a video on the Jetline accident?
Eventually, right now we don't know anything. Once a full report is released and the dust has settled it will be time.
where is the video about those rollercoaster track sections?
Here: th-cam.com/video/LJvrkxs4OXw/w-d-xo.html
I find in interesting how some wood coasters dont have full rails on the transfer
It's to access the road and side friction wheels
Magic
I was alive during the late 1900s
hey recently a roller coaster accident happened at liseberg
Fascinating! I never knew.
What game is this on
informative
Nice video as always great work
how do they un-stuck coasters that have vallied?
You have to use a crane to take the train off of the track and bring it car by car back to the station or transfer area
Depends on the coaster and where it vallied. Some can be winched to a spot they can keep going from, others need a crane.
Oh thanks for the real awnsers. Google had no awnsers for me.
HE made the vieeo
The late 1900s

First
lame
They get a really strong guy to deadlift them on and off the tracks.
