      I've included photos showing the backlight uniformity in one of my more recent reviews: th-cam.com/video/KwyQO3FuQqw/w-d-xo.html
      Starting at about 4: 30.
      It has a very good uniformity especially when considering the price. But please keep in mind that this can vary highly across different copys of the same monitor.

    I just got one of these monitors. I think it´s good so far. Colors are good and it has nice viewing angles. I just have 1 BIG complain about it: It doesn´t go dim enough. Most monitor manufacturers promote the max brightness but they never tell you about the minimum brightness. If you enjoy working with dim lights at night like me, this monitor is going to hurt your eyes.

      I didn't mention what's in the box. Such information can usually be easily taken from the spec sheet and I therefore think it doesn't add much value to the video.
      Box content of the JAB is:
      - Monitor with stand
      - Cables: HDMI cable, Power cable
      - User Documentation
      So no Displayport cable. Btw. Skinflint UK is a great place to quickly find specs sheets: skinflint.co.uk/a1816797.html

Mainly because the LG models can't support sRGB and the colour range of the Philips are wide (72% vs 108% according Displayspecification website). • @techlessYT
      @techlessYT  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Many laptop screens (actually many monitors in general) come with white points that are too cold out of the box. Replicating my settings and using my ICC profile should get you pretty close to the D65 white point, which is pretty much the standard when it comes to professional color work. This might look a bit warm at first if you're not used to that.
      Getting a colorimeter and performing the calibration and profiling yourself will always lead to the best results. If you're really serious about your color accuracy I would definitely recommend doing that. I've also made a video comparing individual profiles to using profiles from others: th-cam.com/video/4IHsHZx-Bb8/w-d-xo.html

    • @techlessYT
      @techlessYT  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks!
      The 246E9QJAB will do great with an Xbox just as it does with a PC.
      Though it's hard to say if the combination will be VRR and HFR capable - it's probably not. So if you don't care about those features the Philips monitor is a great buy. You could also go for the DSB version, as your Xbox can't utilize the additional Displayport input of the JAB anyway.

      @chelseafc3958 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@techlessYT appreciate your reply, I've just checked the xbox is VRR and ALLM capable however I do not see anywhere if it says its HFR capable what does those words mean in simpler terms?😅

    • @techlessYT
      @techlessYT  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      HFR means high frame rate, so in this case more than 60FPS. Yes, the Xbox X is in theory capable of doing both, but people generally have a hard time getting this to work with various different monitors. The Philips monitor itself is capable of VRR through HDMI, so in theory the Xbox should be able to utilize that. Also the Philips monitor can go up to 75Hz while the Xbox could hypothetically even go up to 120Hz.
      But judging from what people report online, it's pretty much a gamble, whether those features actually work or not. And not having a HDMI 2.0 port seems to even worsen the chances, hence my not so optimistic forecast about those features probably not working with this monitor on an Xbox.

    Does buying DisplayPort really pay off?
    Or HDMI which comes with the monitor is enough. Does Nvidia g sync make a big difference in performance or just for gaming? Great review. You got my sub.

    • @techlessYT
      @techlessYT  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you got a Nvidia card it's the only way to get adaptive sync (Gsync). This is a huge plus for gaming.
      Apart from gaming you can make use of Vsync, which does work over both HDMI or Displayport regardless of the GPU brand. This essentially eliminates tearing just like Free- or Gsync, but at the cost of a higher latency. Hence this isn't really a great choice for gaming, but works absolutely fine for other applications like browsing etc.
      Thanks for your sub!

      @@techlessYT thank you for a quick response. so you recommend to get a display port cable? I have nvidia g force GTX 1660. I use monitor for architecture, graphic design, digital art and I play Fortnite sometimes.

    • @techlessYT
      @techlessYT  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I personally only play Fortnite (and all other games) with Gsync enabled. So yes, I'd recommend getting a Displayport cable. This doesn't need to be expensive, AmazonBasics gets the job done.
      Keep in mind though, that you will have to cap your FPS slightly below 75 Hz at something like 70-73 Hz to safely stay inside the Gsync range of the monitor.
      I did a video on how to do that with Fortnite: th-cam.com/video/14YvhXloQuw/w-d-xo.html

      I'm glad you found this useful!
      You can try the color settings showed at about 4:00. Maybe the linked ICC will work nicely for your unit as well - every panel can be a bit different though.
      To really get the most accurate colors you will need to get a calibration device like the Spyder 5 that I use.

    • @techlessYT

      If I'm not mistaken the curved one has a VA panel. I haven't tested this monitor, hence I can't go into detail. Though I wouldn't go for this monitor alone by the fact it only has full HD resolution across 27". I personally think 27" needs 1440p or higher.
