Dude I love you. I have been playing a warlock for 2 years and I totally missed the part where I get my spell slots back on a short rest. I'm such a moron. Your my new hero.
I guess she was a very abrasive pirate captain that lost her ship to an attack, making a pact with Cthulhu to save her life rather than allow her to drown?
thank you for the help, i decided to make a warlock tiefling for my first ever character this morning and this was really helpful to fill out the blank spots in my character sheet.
Hey Nate. Just wanted to say that I'm probably going to play a warlock. I wanted to use a magic user, and I couldn't decide on either Cleric or Warlock, but seeing the two videos you created made me think about probably using a warlock for my first player.
One guy in my group plays a crazy/mad tiefling warlock. This guy got 3 guys to kill each other in a tavern while silently eating his breakfast. Telepathy and illusions have gotten them through 99% of encounters :D
+WASD20 Yeah. They got surrounded by goblins so naturally Azar (the character) intimidated them into submission with 3 consecutive rolls over 20 and their boss's decapitated head. They surrendered
I was told by my friends that a Teifling Warlock would be very suited for someone like me. (I say i pray to the lord of chaos to get *insert applience* to work, alot) looking forward to see how right they are
Hey, when I started I also found afistfulofdice's vids to be awesome and helpful. Also watch his Provokers campaign, which Nate plays in. It's awesome to watch!
I think a new great race for warlock is hexblood. You get hex for free, and you get a free casting of it, and you already have ties to a potential patron, the hag! Some warlock subclasses can be reflavored to have hag patrons. Some examples are: Celestial as a witch doctor, genie as being given a cursed cauldron (being the genies vessel), and hexblade as being given the ability to curse people as the hags do.
I've made a halfling warlock named Dalton Tometalker His patron is Dendar, the Night Serpent, a great old one Dalton is a very bookish sort with the sage background, who chanced upon a ritual to borrow power from Dendar It mostly doesn't give a shit about Dalton but I've decided every time he goes to sleep he is wracked with terrible nightmares about a great serpent whose sheer size compared to him fills him with a sense of overwhelming dread, so that's going to be fun His Pact of the Chain familiar is a ring-necked spitting cobra named Faust and Dalton loves her more than pretty much anything else in the world
I'm currently making my own warlock but I'm puzzeled as when filling in my ATK BONUS and damage/type. I'm unsure what to do going my your video. if I'm using a mace with a strength mod of -1 my attack bonus would be +1 as it's my proficiency bonus(+2) minus my strength mod which is -1. then for damage/type it would be. 1d6/b -1 due to my strength being minus 1. is this correct Nate I'm confused. .
Can you do a Lycanthrope class? I want to be a player who can control the werewolf curse, but don't know how to go about it since I'm very new. Any information could help! Thanks in advance.
That's not in the core rules, but if you talk to a knowledgeable DM who is okay with it you may be able to work something out. Personally as a DM for most games I'd probably advise players to stick to the core rules a little more, but your DM may be more flexible than me. :)
You mean like this? th-cam.com/video/DiYGCnIguHc/w-d-xo.html It's an old one, so perhaps you've already seen it. I realize I'm way overdue for another live game, but maps. :)
I dont know if this will be answered but can there be a d&d character with split personality? I'm trying a Tiefling Warlock who was breed to be evil but is forcing herself to change her path to be good. Right now I'm wanting to make the alignment good and evil for the split personality, would that work?
Lexi Kaminski Hey Im kinda a beginner personally, but Ive been studying the technical stuff like this for dnd to understand it better. But based on what ur saying chaotic neutral would be a very good choice or ask that type of question to ur dm if theyll allow it.
Hey, I don't know if you'll reply but can you make a video just going through different classes and their basic pros and cons when I started I had lots of trouble with this and I feel that it would help Lots of people - dan 👍 p.s keep up the good work
this is my first character and i wanted to have one roll for each and put those down for the stats and they are too high,24 charisma(half elf so i got +2 so it totaled 24)and i got 18 total for dexterity, and 21 for constitution,my first character is a lucky one....i hope i dont die on the first game lol
I'm not sure how you got those stats. They're too high for 5th edition. If you do 4d6 drop the lowest the highest you can get on any stat is an 18 (maybe a bonus of +1 or +2, depending on race).
+Jack Ripper items are in backgrounds, 2 at lvl one, it's specified by an adventure or combat encounter, it depends on you, you can use him wherever you want to.
+PinkCasper -- Yep. Teefling (or Tea-fling) is how I've always heard it pronounced. Also this: th-cam.com/video/4UqFPujRZWo/w-d-xo.html That said, you keep on pronouncing it however you want! :)
Salty is a descriptive term used to describe someone course and someone who can be rigid and inflexible. Just because the term was used to describe people who engage in a conversation and grow frustrated, leading to.... a now called salty attitude. Doesn't mean he shouldn't use it. In fact in Romeo and Juliet bridge of Bosnia, Shakespeare inspired piece btw. Used the world salty. to describe a drunk soldier whom seemed tipsy since birth.
Dude I love you. I have been playing a warlock for 2 years and I totally missed the part where I get my spell slots back on a short rest. I'm such a moron. Your my new hero.
I'll take that. :) Happy gaming.
8 of us are starting to play DnD none of use have played. Thanks for these videos I know they are old but they are helping us out a lot.
Great!
This video was a massive help for someone, like me, who's never played before! Thanks man!
I'm playing DnD for the first time and currently making a half-elf warlock, this video has been a life saver!
I guess she was a very abrasive pirate captain that lost her ship to an attack, making a pact with Cthulhu to save her life rather than allow her to drown?
Sounds like a great backstory!
Extremely help, and yes, I know this video was from 6 YEARS ago, but it was still more helpful than some other channels
thank you for the help, i decided to make a warlock tiefling for my first ever character this morning and this was really helpful to fill out the blank spots in my character sheet.

Thank you so much! I chose this combo as a beginner and you majorly helped me out!
Great! Have fun!
One guy in my group plays a crazy/mad tiefling warlock. This guy got 3 guys to kill each other in a tavern while silently eating his breakfast. Telepathy and illusions have gotten them through 99% of encounters :D
XD That's pretty wild.
+WASD20 Yeah. They got surrounded by goblins so naturally Azar (the character) intimidated them into submission with 3 consecutive rolls over 20 and their boss's decapitated head. They surrendered
For some reason Female Tiefling Warlock was my fave character I made in 4e. I'm going to make one or a Hexblade for the D&D Board Game.
I was told by my friends that a Teifling Warlock would be very suited for someone like me. (I say i pray to the lord of chaos to get *insert applience* to work, alot) looking forward to see how right they are
hey dude I'm 16 and just starting out on D&D and I'm finding your videos extremely hepful please keep posting
Hey, when I started I also found afistfulofdice's vids to be awesome and helpful. Also watch his Provokers campaign, which Nate plays in. It's awesome to watch!
+Brennan Wagner -- Yep. If you like my channel definitely check out A Fistful of Dice: th-cam.com/users/aFistfulofDice
I'm 15, and I would also recommend DawnForgedCast, he helps with about everything D&D/Pathfinder.
I have a lite foot, Hafling Warlock. Working out pretty good so far.

how do you know the items the character has when you make it?
and how do you know the proficiency bonus,is it always 2 when you are level one?
+Jack Ripper how do you know how much xp you get after playing, and how long do you have to play?
and are you only able to use your character for one campaign only?or can you finish the campaign and do another?
+Jack Ripper items are in backgrounds, 2 at lvl one, it's specified by an adventure or combat encounter, it depends on you, you can use him wherever you want to.
+Никита Богомазов what are the backgrounds?

Foxit Reader
@@WASD20 Thank you!
The correct pronunciation is Az-mo-day-us
I'm trying to make a dragonborn warlock, and I don't have the player's handbook because I can't afford it.
Get a pdf
@@Galaxy_7575 ok. Thanks for the suggestion.

That's great! Happy gaming.
Tea-fling? ive always said Tie-fling phonetically lol
+PinkCasper Strange, I've always heard it as Tea-fling, so I just rolled with it.
+PinkCasper -- Yep. Teefling (or Tea-fling) is how I've always heard it pronounced. Also this: th-cam.com/video/4UqFPujRZWo/w-d-xo.html
That said, you keep on pronouncing it however you want! :)
lol thanks! its always good to be corrected before i say "tie-fling" with some super accurate dm and then have to be corrected embarrassingly, cheers
*I will just comment to be the 100th*
100
It's said like ty fling
There's fairly universal agreement that it's not pronounced that way, actually. Also this: th-cam.com/video/4UqFPujRZWo/w-d-xo.html
I stopped watching when you used the 'salty' expression. Lame as hell.
Please, don't let that become a bigger 'thing' than it already is.
+ExBruinsFan So sorry to have upset you.
+Jackson Hurley indeed
