thanks for the video Chloe. Really good points. I have also faced most of them apart from the too pretty comment :). I have an add on to the what happened to you - which is "or have you always been like THAT" while looking towards my legs. A reply I have tried a few times is - "What? Fat?" and wheel away if I can.
“When will you get better?” Omg I hate that one I legitimately have friends who ask if we can go out for brunch once “I’m feeling better” Guys it’s a disability, not the flu!
@Ellie Henderson I've had that so many times. It's like they can't or decide not to understand that it's not that I'm not trying to do something. It's simply that I can't do it and their encouragement to "try harder" is somehow (in their mind) going to miraculously make me do said task
When I get asked if they want them to get a door for me, I open the door for them and move aside. When they apologize, I just tell them I'm way more productive in it.
Well, had a couple of things with an ex wheelchair user... like she went a bit mad I didn't offer much assistance like ever lol, at the same time, I think whatever makes you different is something that you share with who you want.
I've had all of these asked... my favorite by far is he sex question, being somewhat of a smartass I usually respond with "only one way to find out" and usually ends the conversation.

I’m a guy in a wheelchair and girls sometimes tell me you’re too hot to be in a wheelchair
dont put wheelchair and pretty in the same sentence: UNLESS you are commenting on how pretty my custom wheelchair and the colors i chose are ;-')
