- After having played the game for almost 2 weeks and the release date for MX vs ATV All Out being the 27th of March, I felt like I had enough time played for this review. Solid review man! I wish people would stop hating on it so much and just give it a chance and some time to get the bugs and let them tweak it. It's by far the best Mx vs. Atv game we've had in a while in my opinion. Truth is you're never going to be able to please everyone. People are going to complain no matter what. I just don't think this game deserves all the hate it's getting. Physics are bomb and have an awesome learning curve, once you get them down the game becomes so much more fun! Just my opinion but I love the game, can't wait to see more dlc and what else they do with the game! Awesome vid as always bro!

You can’t release a full price game that has frame rate issues that are worse than indie games in early access and expect people to “give them a chance”
Think what you want but this game isn't the only game with framerate issues on release like bf1..and that's a good game. atleast THEY are trying to work on it.
Bought it and it gives me such unleashed vibes and i love it , unleashed and all out are defiantly my favorite ones in the serious , especially with the addition of hydroplaning , actually being able to balance out the bike, free whip, the physics are amazing, 10/10 in my eyes

Honestly I love the game they finally got the physics on point I love the feel of it gives me the unleashed/untamed feel improved and I always enjoyed them best. I agree they do need to fix a few things but it’s not unplayable and I’m on XB1. Been waiting for this for a long time excited to see what’s to come for this game.
I remember trying to climb the huge boundary wall and get as far as we can before we got cannonballed back into the map on Motocross Madness 2. Wish they had a career mode similar to that game
You should make a video doing a race from each MX vs ATV game (unleashed, untamed, reflex, alive, supercross, encore, all out) back to back and compare/review the games as you go.

The free ride is honestly the best part. Hopping in with your buddies in multiplayer and hitting big lines and transfers is my favorite part of the game. One thing he didn't mention is you can set waypoints and instantly teleport to that waypoint or to other riders on free ride maps. (You can also free ride tracks instead of racing them.) So you can keep hitting a certain line over and over again. PC player here fyi
How do you access the map in freeride to set waypoints?
Hold the back/select button depending on your controller and it will pop up

Hey Windham, thank you for the video review, I found it helpful because I haven’t bought a game for several years and just decided to fire up my PS4 and buy a few games. I decided to buy this game because it is on sale on the psstore and really worth the money. Last Mx vs atv I played was reflex and I’m pleasantly surprised
Windham I think the physics are different depending on what you're riding. When on a 125 or 250 the bikes feel super light and the whips are really easy but then I switched to the 500 and the bike felt really heavy in the air and wasn't nearly as easy to whip and flip. Check it out I could just be trippin lol

You did a great job on this video, I understand peoples complaints, but most of them are for fixes being made, or because they want a game that gives them instant skill.

HD clan i understand. for me i’ve been playing lap attack and lots of freeriding on sx tracks and moto tracks. i’m just waiting for the patches to come. once you learn bike setup and learn how to play the game the right way, it’s amazing. and it’s fun. and it’s very realistic. so i play what i can until the other stuff gets fixed. i’m not going to not play a game that is so sick because a couple things are bugged. i’m a moto head and i’d rather rip around on my perfectly set up 450 in free ride then sit on youtube and complain and talk about how i’m not getting the game. lol

When you compared the track widths, when the numbers came up, a xylophone played notes from a C scale. I want a similar instrument in real life because I like the sound of xylophones, marimbas, and glockenspiels. Glockenspiels are twinkly, marimbas have a deep sound, and xylophones are self-explanatory.
I will buy it. To support the MX vs ATV franchise and so I can have fun with it and play with friends.
Windham i think you are in a really good position to help improve this game with the devs to make it in to something the REAL fans want.

@@jawknee4088 yeah its still pretty active. I made a public game at 3am and 3 guys joined while it was me and my friend lol i was surprised at 3am i could get anyone in there. They NEVER fixed 2 stroke sounds though the 500 almost sounds like a 4 stroke and the 250 isnt as good as i thought. 125 is the only one that sounds decent

I bought this game a while back on sale and didn’t really think much of it till I saw this review I gave it a solid chance and man it’s pretty good especially if you play in first person, it’s no MXBikes but it’s probably the closest thing on Xbox just the way you can ride the berms it’s pretty fun. I just really wish it was series x/s enhanced so we could get better frames and graphics but other than that it’s got me excited for mx vs atv legends now
I enjoy it. I play on Xbox one and there’s times the lag is so bad just on a national race I can’t play. The frame. Rate. It sucks. I want to play so bad but can’t because of all the problems. I heard the patch hasn’t even been released for Xbox yet? So maybe that will help. I think they should be more vocal about what’s going on. I see some devs did a live stream with Tylan on his TH-cam. But it seemed to be all PC stuff. Really hope they get it figured out. Otherwise I guess I’ll just keep playing supercross the game 🤷♂️

I would probably say it does not feel like any other MX versus ATV game I would say it's a little bit like reflex but it's a lot more sensitive and the whips are a lot more challenging
I wished they'd make another like atv offroad fury 4. I want another bad ass campaign with an actual story.

I was really on the fence after all bad reviews and what not. Bought it any way and i'm really glad i did. Haven't really enjoyed a mx game since reflex but this one is up there, for sure. Im playing mostly in first person and really like the flow there, third person have stiff animations and i don't feel as connected to the track. I wish the free roam where a little better "curated" the one used as a menu is good because it have the compound vibe with defined lines. Whipping and scrubbing in first person feels really satisfying, and this is a first, well except for mx sim maybe.

Thank you! That answered my question as to if it had first person player mode. I have ridden bikes for ever and still have an 03 Yamaha Raptor 660 sitting in my shed . And anything other than first person feels so weird it isn't fun!

My dad and I would play ATV 2 off road fury, never played the first one, never played the others, we just grinded that for years. Now he (my father) finally got a PS4 for himself and I wanna get him this so we can play together again :)
For me this game looks like the gameplay of Untamed in a modern Mx vs Atv game. I love it. I just hope for more free ride

As someone who owns it and has put 30+ hours in it, I gotta say that it is really fun. I liked Monster Energy SX game for like a week, then it got old. This game is fresh, even with it's bugs and weird design choices. Definitely unleashed remastered (without aircraft, buggys, trophy, or monster trucks)

I hope the bike packs in this game aren't just the latest models. It'd be nice to see bikes from the early 90s and 00s.

It's not the devs fault, it's Microsoft's patch approvement process. I believe Tuesdays are patch day on Xbox, so I fully expect it to drop tomorrow.
Windham, after your first video for this game, where you said the devs told you the day one patch would fix the framerate problems, and that turned out to note be true at all, why would you still be giving them the benefit of the doubt that they're somehow going to fix the framerate soon? They've been working on this game for a years. If it's running like crap on day one chances are very likely it's never going to be fixed.
Is this like the Ricky Carmichael motocross from ps2? I loved that game and have been waiting for something to come out as good as that game was(is)!!

@Yuri Boyka Am just a causal player on these series of games am not very good so maybe someone else can talk about the physics but am sure you will love Monster energy supercross it looks stunning to play , I have MXGP 3 and Monster energy supercross for me personally Monster energy supercross my first choice between the 2 not sure if they tweaked the physics ? maybe someone can answer that :-)
The MESX has very much improved physics and game has a great flow, cornering is awesome and the game feels really fast now. Way better than mxgp3.
Im undecided on either one does either have just a free ride mode?

Great review, thanks for that. Still thinking if I should get the game, by looking at it, it seems to be fun, and that's what I'm looking for. FPS and stuff will eventually be fixed, so that's not my concern. But I have so many games to play, and don't know if I could invest a lot of time into this one, would be nice to sometimes just cruise around a bit, but then again, price is too high. Might wait still a bit.
The game is not without its flaws. But I do respect THQNordic for trying to bring back the older Mx vs Atv feels. Adding more than Dirt Bikes and ATVs. Adding some unique events/maps (the Nationals could have been handled better, but I'm not complaining). It's not a reskin of a past game (I.E. Alive to Encore). The cornering physics are sadly not too great, considering how Milestone nailed the cornering physics. But this game wasn't meant to be a simulator-arcade, it is just an arcade racing game. Whether this is a good thing or a bad thing is up for debate.
All in all, I feel like this is one of the better Mx vs Atvs... Too bad the launch was kind of well. Terrible.

I'm hoping they fix some of the issues, and have a good few gripes.
Frame rates can be terrible, bike sounds on 2 Strokes are atrocious. You didn't touch so much on how National tracks are just absolute shit house, sorry but they are so poorly designed random bumpy messes with 0 flow or difficulty, Freestyle tracks are also shit and feel like and afterthought, there are a few indoor environments but even they don't flow. Turtle bay is a joke, its just ramps randomly placed. Half the Freeride enviroments are just cloud maps and average at best. Supercross tracks are pretty cool but the scale is so weird from bike and rider to width of track. The only reason Supercross is hard to master is because the ground handling sucks.
PC has so many bugs from Online crashes to Time Trial Ghost not moving or getting camera stuck in random places. I have 30 hrs in this game and would not recommend unless someone is die hard into Moto games. The career makes no sense and locks you out of anything you might be interested in, I got so bored trying to get Supercross unlocked havign to do the same tracks over and over for ATV / MX I just do them in single race or Time Trial... Series basically exists to grind motocoins and nothing else. No unlocks or anything as you can just do single races / Time Trials on any environment from the start. MESX has better customization even if you can't change the gloves. All Out is an All out disappointment to me after a lot of Hype... Yeh you can throw fatty whips but I'd rather have good ground handling and decent track design anyday. Lets not forget there about to charge like $5 per bike for real bikes via DLC. I'll keep playing it especially when they stop the MP crashes on PC but Its pretty average.
I got a little frustrated having to play all these dumb crappy ameture races to unlock what you want. Make a proper career mode if you are doing that. The AX and SX tracks are like a 6 lane freeway, there has to be a way to bring us in closer and have a playable game.
When cornering the screen seems really jerky? buffery? IDK. Hopefully they get it nailed down with patches but I always ask why release a game thats only going to piss people off while you work on patches???

I own both the new games. Supercross the game is better in a lot of ways, but not in physics. And that is the most important thing to me. Bugs can be fixed. All Out takes the cake for me.
The best parts of the open range maps is near the out of bounds area's. Especially on the goat farm's bottom right of the map.
Have it on pc running uhd but with a 1080 gfx card ...i have respect for this game..other then the bugs hear and there that will be fixed with a patch....i recommend this game

all i used to play was MX vs ATV REFLEX but this is really fun upgrade in my opinion would recommend

Bike physics are pretty bad. Moving the bike forward and backwards in the air after you've left a jump is way off. It reminds me of Edgar Torronteras' PC video game from back in the day.
Bike setup plays a huge role when hitting those triples. Same goes for cornering. :D

Monster energy’s cornering and graphics are a lot better , but if you case a jump nothing happens and the whips aren’t free. But this game the whips are free and you wreck if you case but it come with the price of the game not performing not to perfect.
Tbh I own the game and have had tons of fun playing it with friends and by myself. Personally, I don’t dig the sound effects, but the graphics are absolutely beautiful, and the physics, I see some people don’t like but It grew on me after learning how it works. The whips are insane🤣🤘

wyndam i can tell your bike isn’t set up right. your suspension is too stiff and i think your sprocket is too high. turn your tires a little left of center too. and ride in chase cam. it’s incredible how much tuning the bike right and camera view can change the game. my gameplay/bike reactions look a lot different then others but it didn’t at first.

Just picked this up for $6.50 on Xbox with the $10 credit they gave me and it being on sale so definitely worth it
On pc Do not put the Graphics on cinematic I get 45 to 50 FPS in 1080p but on Ultra or whatever comes before cinematic I get 60FPS in 4K. Looks like they are just using the build in graphics settings in Unreal Engine 4 where cinematic really is only for well cinematic.

I think the atv's are sick that's what I'm riding mostly they have the best customization I've seen and they look just like real atv motocross if you get good at it

After playing mxgp pro this game looks like one of those arcade games with the big plastic motorcycle where you just lean back and forth. The only way to win is to floor it without crashing
I recommend it I love the graphics and how customizable everything is including tuning, and the whips are so nasty it’s awesome🤘 some people don’t like the hang time but it’s so you can throw In freestyle tricks, and online doing that with some buddies using photo mode😉 you can get some pretty epic shots👌
I hated this game the first 3 days. Now I love it. The national tracks suck. But trying to throw down heaters on sx tracks are fun. Trying to hit huge lines is really difficult unlike encore or alive. I’m more just upset with the bugs that have my seat and exhaust set to stock Suzuki and I can’t change it. Fix the bugs, come out with real national tracks for free dlc

They call it "All Out" but there is no monster trucks, buggies, trophy trucks, planes, helicopters, golf carts, etc. "All out" kinda synonym of "Unleashed" imo
Damn, the sound is kinda bad but the physics look like and sticky/squishy. Pretty satisfying looking gameplay. This just got announced for the Switch earlier today so I'm checking it out, just hope it feels even vaguely this good on the weaker hardware.

I mean It still a good quality game but there is some stuff that they totally forgot. When you turn it looks as if you were being pounded by 600lbs of weights on your back and you can't drift much on. And the sounds are a little canky And the whips need a little fix because there is a lot to just going into a whip. I'm not saying it's a bad game they just need some tweaks and some improvements for the next game they are coming out. By the way love your vids!

Thank you for the video and especially the comparison. I was super looking forward to this game, but the technical issues have me very hesitant to purchase. A game should be patched for minor improvements....not to fix the game to make it playable. The fact that the game released with that frame-rate is inexcusable. I cannot support a developer that releases a game this poor at launch. Maybe once it hits the bargain bin and IF it's been fixed...I really hope the developer starts to respect this series and it's fans more down the road. If not, then let someone else work on the series. It is sad that Reflex..a game over a decade old...is still the best game in the series. Maybe let Milestone have this series too.
I mean I'm not buying it, I personally enjoy Supercross the game way too much but I don't hate anyone who chooses to play it for any reason, I'm just not impressed by it. I like watching content for it though, it's enjoyable to see other people's viewpoint and personal experiences with the game cause they all seem to be unique given whatever platform you play on. I will admit most of my apprehension comes from all the bugs and OEM bikes being dlc but still being locked within the game files which I think is a shitty move.
ghostpapi dude the game is very good. you have to learn how to tune the bike and it rides complexity different then you see in all these gameplay videos online. my bike reactions/suspension and whips look completely different.
at this point i’ve seen you comment on every video about this game but you say you’re not getting it all the time. if you’re not getting it then let go and let it be lol. no use in keep bashing it.
buy the game and learn it. it’s not a pick up and play game. it’s just not. if you don’t like something in the game you gotta learn how to change it. the amount of tuning and things you can change and do to the bike and rider movements is endless.
believing someone that has thought the game sucked but kept playing it and tuning the bike should be precedent to believing someone that says the game sucks that hasn’t put any time into it

Is the anniversary edition the base game plus dlc? Everywhere I look the anniversary edition disc is cheaper than the regular game
It's been 2 weeks of playing for myself. This is a $20 game at best. My console is the Xbox 1s. If you like to freeride, this game is really good for that. Frame rate is so bad, that it makes even a offline Series more difficult than it should be and I'm not new to motorsports games.
They need to bring back untamed cannon balling and if they brought back the big open deserts and monster trucks etc :)
It’s ok but A lot of money for a dirt bike game just like the kx450f I had and rm250 2 stroke that both blew up completely but I still love them dirt bikes 😂
On Xbox it’s $40 and I have encore should I get all out also and just play that and forget about encore?

Honestly the biggest problems i have with the game are that the whips need to be weighted a bit more because i keep doing upside down whips and can't figure out how to consistently throw good normal whips. Also the bike physics on the bike feel a little spongy. And the framerate on xbox one literally f***ing sucks ass. They need to fix that asap.
Wish they had monster trucks and 50 bikes, main reason I bought the game honestly.
