    They're not just plain carrots. Found a article from Plate Online describing the dish-
    “In cooking the carrots, we found that they had a meaty texture and got the idea to use them instead of beef,” he says. “We cook the carrots sous vide with olive oil and thyme. They are essentially braised so that they’re tender; they can be ground, but in such a way to highlight the natural flavor of the carrots.”
    Ground tableside in a hand-cranked meat grinder, Humm’s carrot tartare is a mixture of cooked carrots, carrot juice, white balsamic-pickled mustard seeds, Granny Smith apples and a carrot vinaigrette seasoned with caraway seeds and ginger. It’s served with freshly grated horseradish, chives and toasted sunflower seeds, a pickled quail yolk and sour rye crisps

    Sure the individual courses are small there but there are 11 of them and together they should fill up a normal human being. Also this is not about stuffing ur fat face but experiencing different smells, tastes and textures that are all extremely nice and delicious to have a great meal you will never forget. So while it is expensive if you can afford it, it seems totally worth it. Btw I wish I could afford it but kfc is good enough for me.

    • @MelodicPicking
      @MelodicPicking 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@rahulbasak5739 What he wants to explain is that in a top-tier restaurant you don't pay to eat. You pay for an experience, flavors beyond what you ever tasted before, extreme quality ingredients, variety, discovery, spirit of a chef, years and years of hard work, skills and research for creating all the recipies, a service impecable, a mindblowing decoration... The dishes are pieces of art everytime...
      If you are not sensitive to this kind of art / incredible dedication and precision, I think it is not worth the try.
      An "average person" will not see the beauty behind all this and better stay away from this kind of restaurants.
      Anyway, greetings from a chef de rang in a 2 Michelin-Starred restaurant in France 👋

    I think the point of this is appreciating the art and the mastery behind food. Yeah they may not be the most fulfilling food, and tbh a good old 22 oz steak at outback beats this, but if I have a spare $295 and want to treat myself and feel fancy for a day why not right? What is so wrong with wanting to enjoy food and spoiling myself. Also the title made it clear this is a "tasting menu" this isnt really supposed to fill you, and tbh if you are going to get this dont complain, you know perfectly damn well what you are getting into if your order this.

    • @deadcakesandpanlifts2019
      @deadcakesandpanlifts2019 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      CarolClarity25 you could enjoy this food even more if they served bigger plates. And all the food they serve in the vid probably costs 1% of the price you are paying. The simple reason they serve small sizes is not because of "art" or taste,its becaude they are cheap fucks and want to maximize the profit to the fullest. You can have art and taste with bigger sizes too

    • @piaichiban27
      @piaichiban27 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      ChallengingGravity You can, but this is a tasting menu. The point is if you like that certain dish then the next you come around, you can order that instead.

    • @1ethanblock
      @1ethanblock 6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I'm 100% sure that this restaurant doesn't have a food cost of 1% for this entire tasting menu. Not only are the ingredients you're getting extremely expensive, but you have to factor in labor costs as well. I mean, that little piece of sea urchin costs the restaurant more than that. These restaurants have a ton of servers, and chef's who have mastered their trade. Typically food costs are about 20-40 percent, but that's in your average restaurant.

    • @josexaviergallegos

You'll be full by plate 7 or so and by 11, you'll be more than satisfied. Instead of stuffing your face with a burger, a ton of fries and a gallon of coke (which I love too btw), you'll get to be full on something masterfully done that you will never be able to produce at home.
