      Actually, their dialect is closer to the 16th century French from New Brunswick, Canada. Would make a great thesis.

      Identity is not always about the country in which we're born, it's often more to do with what's born in us.
      The world would be very boring if we were all the same, good on you for knowing who and what you are.
      Greetings from Ireland. ☘️

    I have loved this sound my whole life. First encountered it in an Acadian town in New Brunswick, Canada, as a mere tot.
    Many years later studied the history of the Acadiennes - Le Grande Derangement (The British fools who thought they were from France? N'est pas!)
    And of course, one thing led to another, the first "A" was dropped when they reached what was still Louisianna (French territory)the second "a", the short "ah" was flattened to Aye, and we wound up with Cajun.
    This is the rhythm of the Saints.
    I could travel through galactic clusters, and never miss a beat.

      You know the Cajuns (Arcadians) came to Louisiana from Canada right?

    • @lindacrawford6155
      @lindacrawford6155 6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Alyra3 We came from Canada and all different parts of France. There is A sad song about Napoleon selling Louisiana to France and honestly, I wish he had not, though we love the USA, because for a long time they did not let children speak their mother tongue, and the language died among many generations.

    • @lindacrawford6155

      Coyote Trail Also many came from French forts on the Gulf of Mexico, after Spain took them and became part of the French in Louisiana. 6% of Louisiana French are French Basque.
