My late father, Lord have mercy on his soul, played the 'button' accordion (before that the melodeon) and I never thought that this instrument was the main stream of Cazun music! Have listened to this over the years and Pat Conte in New York used to send me all the old recordings from the 78rpm era on the masters of Cazun! I treasured them and they sept my spirit up even in lonely places on my travels!
Take a trip to Louisiana, USA! Quick history lesson, Cajuns are descended from French settlers of "Acadie" a portion of what is now the the Canadian province of Nova Scotia . In the ongoing battle between England and France for control of eastern North America, France lost control of Acadie and beginning in the 1750s the British began transporting many Acadians to Louisiana, then still a French possession, where they developed their own distinct cuisine, music and culture generally. Not all the Acadians were transported and their descendants also still live in Nova Scotia, primarily on Cape Breton.

Bien content d’entendre ça mes cousins, un grand bonjour du pays Cajun 👋🏻
Beautiful music. I can close my eyes and see my relatives from 100+ years ago having a good time to some good old Cajun Country music eating some good old Cajun Food in Louisiana in the heart of Cajun Country or my relatives in Jacksonville catching big olé gators singing Cajun Folk songs on a boat. I can picture it like I'm right there with them. R.I.P. Cajun Culture )-;
Hell NO!!
Why did you say rip, it's not dead
Hello, reading your message, I like it. But, if I was there I'd jump up to be having an awesome dance. They are Wonderful..I'm a Hungarian older Woman and this does make my sou feel alive... Best wishes
I'm Scottish/Irish....we took our music across the waters and settled in the states/Canada/Australia...our ancestors ended up living in the Appalachian mountains or Canada or Australian outback..and they changed and adapted the music to their surroundings and living conditions...And what a job they done...and we wouldn't have the bluegrass/cajun music etc we have today without the black influence and the blues ...
Not just Sctotish-irish and afro-american. There are also Spanish/French and Native american influences. Melting pot created this beautiful music. :)
@@michaljezek2664 without a doubt...

He was awesome mate
Gracias!!!

Such a beautiful sound. I just want to be there and dance!!! Love it
Music like this just makes you move if you want to or not. So glad my dad introduced me to Cajun, blues, county rock, psychedelic and too many other kinds of music to list off fully.
I absolutely love this. Look like lovely, talented people just having fun. More of it!

Carry-on on brothers and sisters. I am feeling "IT". God Bless You and Yours Also. And I didn't even understand some of the words that you sang, but Thank You Lord, I sure felt "IT ALL", and every time. Chuckle Thank you from my heart. I am back again moving my feet again. chuckle again.
Best mandolin playing have ever heard. Caleb works that mandolin! The rest weren't bad either, and that's a gross understatement!
If Cajon music don’t get you moving report directly to a morgue
shawna indeed , you are done si tu amai pas notre music

Thank you from France!
Amazing! I'd love to get to know more of you guys and your culture. Best wishes from Germany 🌻❤️
@@jeffbachman Thank you so much, Jeff! One day I will visit Louisiana, so God will! 😊
I did a little research in the wikipedia and some internet articles about Cajun culture and now it's definitely on my bucket list. Best wishes from Germany, Jeff!

Lindaaaaaa. Beautiful band! The world has lost the taste for good, healthy, familiar music. Music that speaks of joy and is good for the body and soul.
