Its a long way from country music, its earlier than country comes from early French (Acadians) settlers in Canada when America opened up as a continent and river transport was all that was available and trapping for furs was a way of life. The French or Acadians came from New Brunswick and Nova Scotia area many spoke creole and followed the trails and rivers to settle in Louisianna beautiful, spirited music.

I'm from Alabama Worked on boats in Cajun country for 6 years. Had damned good Cajun Friends , love south Louisiana, they were good fighters, and live to party. They are very tight knit and clanish. They don't take to outsiders easily. Got to love them. I also have roots in France !
