Brett Evans I will bounce the stands, then sand, feather out and prime to catch those spots up to speed. When it’s all said and done, I will spray the bottom with a racing type bottom paint that will get wet sanded and burnished. There will be no visible evidence of pad spots when finished 👌
David Dailey the 3m accuspray is great for gelcoat. I personally have never done complete re-gelcoats. Just repairs and it works great. Still need to wetsand and buff but that’s just the name of the game. You doing repairs or a complete redo ?
What a great video. I subscribed for more great info. A friend just gave me a 1978 Cape Dory Typhoon that's about a 5 out of 10 (really a 4 but I can see the sweet old lady underneath). Two questions: Is there a part 2 to this video and 5 years on how is the Barrust holding up? Thanks!
Nice job! In the process of painting my hull. Your videos are a huge help!
S/V Oceanghost I try. Lol. I will be more specific in the next videos I have to prime it one more time.
And your welcome and thanks 👌👌
Struggling to find a retailer for the bar rust 235 here in the uk
Ppg amercoat 235 they say is the same. I notice differences but if I can’t get the devoe then I get the ppg. Just a fyi👌
Can you use barrust 235 as a barrier coat over poly / gel coat under the water line, before the bottom paint ??
Most definitely!👌
Why did you you use a barrier coat primer instead of the 545.
donnfl it’s just what I prefer to use on glasswork. I have since primed the deck and hull in 545👌
Gorgeous boat. I want one someday.
What do you do about the places covered by the stands?

Nice work! Hey Frankie how disappointed or not would a person be trying to spray gelcoat through that 3M accuspray gun?

Repairs primarily. Thinking I will spray the bilge area, perhaps non skid too.
