- Ussuriysk is a city located in the far East or Russia, in the region Primorsky Krai. Population: 160,000 people. The city is founded in 1866 but long before the arrival of the Russians, people lived in these territories. Today we will learn about medieval kingdoms and indigenous peoples of this region, visit a cool ethnographic park, look for Ussuri tigers and discuss the best Russian political satire show that comes from Ussuriysk.

Your travels across Russia especially in the far east have become a - Tour de force - videos explaining the culture, landscape, and peoples of the area. Most educational and very entertaining. I have always been interested in border areas that have a mix of cultures that have developed over time and that is certainly true of the Russian far east.

Natasha is a great vlogger most of the times, she is a brilliant filmologist. But just be careful calling it totally educational because she very subtly puts her own spin on everything steering you very gently into a certain way of seeing things, even though it is mostly "nutral".

The Far East of Russia is so charming and also romantic and this place has got a unique beauty and an amazing environment, as Russia is not only Moscow, but it is an immense country which has to be discovered. When I watch this channel, I’m always amazed at how similar this part of Russia looks to my country of Serbia. And the fact that it’s thousands of kilometres away and borders China which is so different from our culture. The socialist apartment buildings, rusty playgrounds, benches with missing seats, old houses that haven’t been redone in decades…also the fact that we also use the Cyrillic alphabet
Similar culture, but especially similar history of communism collapse.
I didn’t know it’s like this in Serbia, for me it’s ✨Europe✨ Soviet heritage everywhere, depressing and aesthetic at the same time…
@@NatashasAdventures But it cannot be said that it would be a Soviet heritage. The philosophy comes from Marx and Engels, so it can actually be said that Russia is the victim of communism.
@@NatashasAdventures absolutely. Other Balkan countries as well. If you ever get the chance, you should definitely visit. Serbia often gets overlooked by foreign tourists but I think you would love it here. We may not have a lot of things that the rest of Europe has to offer but you would definitely feel at home lol. Plus the Balkans are one of the few parts of Europe which Russians would actually consider to be affordable

Могу сказать, что с 1995 года - город преобразился. Я помню парк Дора (тогда вроде ещё ДОСА), когда там даже днём не стоило рисковать ходить. А сейчас в каждом дворе практически современные детские площадки, асфальт, чистота, новые скверы.
А производства, которые были и закрылись - их жаль, конечно. Что-то быстро умерло после развала СССР, что-то медленно. Это везде практически произошло. Но жизнь идёт и время течёт. И раз и в Спасске уже можно выпить варёный кофе хорошего качества, то значит что-то движется в полезном направлении! ))

I have become more interested in Russia recently, in part due to your videos, and I am doing a cruise in the Baltic in June that will spend two days in St. Petersburg. You are so good at presenting the history of a vast variety of Russian locales ! As near as I can tell, You are very accurate in all your descriptions and making it very interesting at the same time . Excellent ! Russia should be proud .
In my opinion, your videos from the far east stick out compared to the other ones. Simply because you are be able to tell stories based on experience. That's also the reason why a lot of people decided to subscribe, to hear stories from a country that is rather mysterious for a lot of us. Did you ever notice that the video that made your channel populair is the one showing an extreme stereotype about Russia. Living in cold depressive Siberia. That picture made the video appealing, and after clicking most found out what it was actually about.
Anyways, I think we all had this city nearby that seemed a lot bigger in our younger years, in fact everything seems bigger in your younger years. Atleast I think it does? Time will tell. Russia will never feel less big though😂 based on what I know about it.

Thank you for another fantastic video. Between travel restrictions and a new job that doesn't give me much time off it sometimes feels like I'll never go on a trip again. Watching your videos makes me feel like I'm visiting these interesting places too, they're like a little vacation for me. You are of course right about the different situations in Russia and the USA. However, there have been some very undemocratic developments in the USA too. Who can forget the full power of the state coming down on those protesters in Lafayette Square just so a certain person could pose with a Bible? Michael Cohen, the ex-attorney of that certain person, was released early from prison, but when he published a book criticizing that person, he was rearrested and thrown back in prison for "violating his probation." A Russian-like political climate can also be easily created here in the USA if we aren't careful.
Not yet anyhow.. If you are in the US, the Jan6 bunch of loons want to take your freedoms away.

Your camera work has improved immensely. The slow "pans" are great. They give the viewers time to absorb the content. I love your curiosity like when you explore areas like @12:30. NOBODY on TH-cam does things like that. Keep doing those type of vignettes. And the clip about the "chair" @13:30 was just hilarious!! Your "dry" sense of humor and sarcastic wit are super. Exploring the Far East with you 👍😊 It's obvious, that I like such videos more, than the videos from Moscow or the other cities of the central Russia. I like to learn about the local brands, Coffee shops, restaurants... Here in my hometown we have almost everything that you can find in Moscow. But almost nothing that you have in the Far East.

I first came across Natasha's videos earlier this year and was attracted to her innocent charm, and the chance to see something about a part of the world of which we in Britain know little. The videos were a little clunky, but interesting enough to make me watch.
In the past 2-3 months I've noticed the videos have become very professional, well presented and edited. And Natasha has become much more confident talking on camera, speaking perfect English. She is still as charming, and the subjects just as interesting. And yes, it helps that she is gorgeous young lady!

Very nice. But you forgott the rich history of Koreans in Ussuriysk. There is a very interesting museum there with an excellent Korean Restaurant. From Ussuriysk also goes the railway to North Korea. Enjoyed the vid and thought it was pieced 2gthr quite well and glad you kept in your 'natural' moments (military coincidence, coming down the slide/plank and the boom barrier incident with the facial expression usually not seen but glad to see it come out) as I think these moments add to your vids along with your fun sense of dry humor/sarcasm. Another great tour! I enjoyed the info regarding the history of the indigenous people of this region. I wouldnt be surprised if they are related to the people who migrated over the land bridge into North America thousands of years ago. They certainly seem similar to native Americans of long ago.

Natasha, I am only now becoming more familiar with your style of deadpan humor (невозмутимый?). 13:25 Now that I'm able to recognize it, you have me laughing every time! 🤣 I just love your travel vlog! What an interesting city! Perhaps their local leaders will manage to make it even better (MUGA!).
But on a more serious note, I do really try to talk openly and often in my daily life here in the U.S., about oppressive governments and abusive bureaucrats (like we also have here, and in 𝘮𝘰𝘴𝘵 countries of the world, unfortunately). The more of this corruption we -- the people -- tolerate, the more open and oppressive the abuse becomes. Here, this tipping point (of no return) has not yet occurred, thankfully, which is why we are fighting hard to maintain our precious democratic freedoms. Once freedom is lost, it is 𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺 hard to recover. Many millions of Americans are in deep denial on this topic, and do not wish to even consider the grave danger we are in. But we who know, and care, will keep fighting until our democracy is stable and secure again. Thank you for caring, and for sharing! 🙏👏👏

Hello Natasha. This was another superb presentation by you. Thank you for taking so much time to make the video. It was delightful to visit Ussuriysk and walk around the town with you. The medieval museum was a great place to see and your presentation style is really honest and uplifting. You are so cheerful and positive in your outlook.
I felt that the satirical show was a good thing because people should be able to find humour in their everyday lives. The central control from Moscow is not so good, especially if one can go to prison for making jokes. I thought that Vladimir Putin was assured of his power for a long time to come and I did not see why making fun of him or the system is an offence. In England, our prime minister, Boris Johnson, is a constant source of amusement and we could not be imprisoned for making fun of his incompetence.
Thank you for taking the time and trouble to inform people about life in Russia. The Russian tourist board need to employ you to make all of their publicity films. You do such a great job of presenting Russia, its daily life and its people to us foreigners. I wish you a happy Christmas and a great new year. My hope is that 2022 will bring you everything you desire and that life will be better for all people next year. 🍺💐🇬🇧

A perfect Sunday morning. A coffee, a lesson on youtube with travel, history, geography, politics, and a beautiful host. Politics have always had authoritarian figures, along with media perspective. Look at the Americans and Trump, who would have thought. A very beautiful city, all paces have faults and issues, take the good with the bad.
