I sprayed flat then stood it up. It wasn't flat the whole time lol. That would be pointless. I can see where tou thought I did that. Even though it does evaporate quickly. You can spray it flat and about 30 seconds later it's dry. But no I had it standing up. Good catch though.
@BeardedFordTech little better bro. This covid ain't no joke bro. It likes to tease me 😆 🤣 😂. Was organizing my garage sat down for a little almost fainted. I'm more worried for my mom she's recovering good though thank God 😊.
Those rear pads looked like they were brand new. Not bad for 67K. I was surprised to see the rotor stuck to the hub. If that was a GM product, not only would the rotor weld itself to the hub, the caliper bracket bolts would be welded in with yellow thread locker. You would have to attach a chain to the wrench and then to the back of a Power Stroke equipped F450 in order to break them loose. Those Matco ratcheting wrenches are awesome for doing brakes. I had the earlier version with the 15 deg. offset on the fixed end. They got a lot of use. You missed a great opportunity to extol the virtues of Amsoil Metal Protector. After cleaning the hub surface, a little spritz of the MP will prevent the rotors from sticking to the hubs in the future. Hope things are drying out down your way.
@mlieser1230 ran out of metal protector sadly. Otherwise I would have. I don't know why gm uses yellow thread locker. And they use like 4 gallons of it per bolt so you can get it out.
@@BeardedFordTech I needed to replace the rear pads and rotors on my 04 GMC. I couldn't budge the caliper bracket bolts. There was hardly any space between the leaf spring and the bolts. I couldn't get my impact gun to them. I had to use my floor jack against my 1/2 ratchet to break the bolts loose! The bolts were saturated in yellow thread locker! My curses are still floating around in the ether. 🤣🤣
@RonaldCollins yep. Super easy to do that. Also if it has an electronic master cylinder you would need to put it in brake service mode to do the front. Just keep that in the back of your mind.
Nice video man, are you treating your underside with any rust prevention? It looks pretty clean. I see alot of service roads and my 2019 underside it covered in rust at like 60k km.
@TheFoolhardyFellow no I don't treat it with anything. I don'tive in an area where this is rust. If ypu do I would recommend treating it with Amaoil Metal Protector You can find it here www.amsoil.com/p/amsoil-heavy-duty-metal-protector-amhsc/?zo=5124952
Did your e-brake boot crack or tear. They replaced ours three times before we ran out of warranty. Just replaced it with one from Redline. Real leather instead of the thin cheap stuff.

@jainkw your very welcome. Almost 70k on mine and they were still plenty thick. Just did the front with powerstop (they sent them to me) check out that video. There's a promotion website in there. Save some money on your brakes.
I was looking at the rear breaks for my 2022 Ford Transit 350 and found that the axle might have to be remove for rotor replacement. Why does Ford make it hard?
@livefreevinnie Axle does have to come off the do the rear brakes. It's very easy to do though. I did a video on one a while back. I don't know why they do that.
I just got my rear rotors and pads replaced on my 19. I have 85k miles. I should be able to get another 20-30k out of my fronts before I replace them. Why do the rear pads wear faster on newer vehicles?
@ericduschean4765 my rear pads were thicker thsn the front. Rule of thumb is Teo front replacement before the rear. Awkward your resr wore out. We're they ever taken apart and slide pins lubricated? @@kingranch8516 if yours is dual rear wheel then you have to take the Axle out to change the rotor. If it's single it's just like this. It's not hard. CarID reached out to me. They said do an install video and talk about the website (which it is cheaper on there) and they will send them. They sent them out yesterday. Can't wait for those to come in
Great video very good explaining how to replace pads and rotor on the ranger. Your a great teacher and also appreciate the quality of the video
💯💯 your welcome. And thank you for watching.
Great information here. Does it help to use antisieze where the rotor and axle flange meet to prevent the rust?
@@richwitt3559 you can if you live in an area with a lot of rust. A little bit of antisieze helps. Do not put it on the slide pins or the wheel studs
Helpful video. Did not know about the turning calipers. Never had a vehicle with those.
Lots of vehicles have those. Mustangs. Fusions, explorers, couple chevrolets. I dont like them. Never have. But. You learn to deal with it. 😁
Great video but what good does it do to spray the rotors lying flat and then just let it dry again.

Nicely done. Are the pad spring clips only for the outside pad and not the inside pad?
Inner and outer.
