I can’t remember if it was Fabrizio Romano who said it or the spanish media, but a few months ago it was said that Mbappé has always kept in contact with Florentino, in fact when Mbappé renewed his contract for PSG even though Madrid had the offer to buy him, he called Florentino and talked to him personally about his decision. Apparently Florentino really appreciated the gesture and understood why he wanted to stay.

I don't know if this is still happening but back during the winter transfer window when Fabrizio started becoming sure Mbappe would join Real Madrid this summer he said the signing bonus was gonna be 100 million. They pretty much paid 100 million for him not including wages, and because of the removal of the loyalty bonus PSG pretty much got back 80 million off him joining Real.
So it's not really as free as people suggest compared to most regular free agents.

It’s not an insignificant amount of money that’s been freed up for PSG though, it’s about €220m (£187m)
Obviously they won’t find another Mbappe, but with FFP etc. and let’s be honest, playing in a weak league, €220m plus whatever they would have had anyway would allow them to revamp the squad in a big way

He was on €75m per year Net (after Taxes, so they were paying him a lot more) plus he had various Bonuses too, such as his Loyalty Bonus that they still haven’t paid him, which was €70m if he saw out his 2 years from 2022-2024, or €90m if he extended for a third year.
So his €150m Net Salary, plus €70m Loyalty Bonus = €220m minimum.
In reality it’s a lot more because the Tax Rate in Paris is 45%, so you can add another €67.5m for the Gross Pay, plus any Bonuses for goals, assists, trophy wins, appearances etc. too.
PSG are probably saving closer to €300m

FIFA need to impliment a tampering clause like the US professional sports have. There should be a window that opens maybe 2 months before the end of the season where clubs can reach out to players directly. Clubs can always talk with each other about buying players. That way it stops this 1 year out pre agreements that screw teams over, and this most commonly happens with smaller clubs.
