I know it feels a bit weird for you, but I'm glad you're starting to do ad reads. I know it takes a bit away from the cohesiveness of the video but the money you make from them should really help the channel out cash flow wise (especially for the upcoming project!). Us viewers are used to them in everyone else's videos anyway, so it's not really a huge deal for us.
Most of my TH-cam consumption just plays in the background while I am being productive, wrenching myself or something. Your videos, I make myself a cup of coffee put it up on the living room tv and sit back on the couch. Thanks Mike for putting out quality content every single time.
Seriously, I do the same thing while driving and use YT as an audiobook, but these I'm constantly looking over like "damn, look at that dry ice" and then I wake up in the median of a Walmart parking lot
Usually these vids come out on a Saturday morning here in Australia. The whole family knows that Saturday morning is Dad's cup of tea and Stance works time on the TV.
From the excellent story telling to the perfect videography, every episode is as engaging the other and we always learn something. Mike you are a master at the craft!
Keep chipping away at the details - glad to have been a part of this project and pumped to see it still looking so good! Crazy it's been 5 years (I think?) since I painted that one.
I’m happy to see you working on this thing. The fog blanks desperately need to be paint match or actual fog lights. Part of me is disappointed you put the wing on but I get it. I think the wicker bills are a must and removing the risers is also a subtle flex and rarely done. Love both sets of wheels.
The right wheels make all the difference. I put Motegi MR116s on my Civic and sometimes I just stop and stare and admire it. The headliner was a painful reminder I'm going to learn how to do upholstery and fix my armrests. The stock ones are garbage and that's putting it politely. I dunno why Honda thought a paper-thin layer of ultrasuede on hard plastic was the way to go. As always, I love your videos. They're a constant reminder to me that as frustrating as some of the work I put into my car is, it always makes me smile in the end and that makes it worth it.
Having ran into valve stem to caliper clearance issues when building wheels it was all i could see happening. Glad to see they were located in the lip and had no issues, car as always looks amazing!
I was today old when I found out m3's only had black headliner. I just painted my orginal covers and they looked AMAZING. I've done my own twist on my interior, but my main goal was to make it look like OEM. Little things like painting my rear speaker grills black but the plastic surround the orginal tan color I was getting rid of. The contrast between the sandwood brown I left behind and the black I put in give it a very unique look. Compared to what it started as the car looks almost new. Btw kinda lame to plug a scanner that won't properly scan an e36 and u know it. U need the 20pin connection under the hood to get the code that will ACTUALLY mean something
Those BBS’s take it to a new Level Mike 👌❤️🇩🇪 Nice Werk 🫡 Regarding the headliner I was completely blown away that the part is still available. That’s the beautiful part of BMW I love. More BMW content!
YES I did this with my Ex- VW Corrado BBS with midnight purple! Sadly they were 15" when I put a big body kit on I replaced them with 17" Venom cuz I couldn't affort 17" 2 or 3 part BBS (even the regular 1part version)
I’ve had good luck plastic welding the tabs back onto interior pieces. You can melt a zip tie or use another piece of abs to melt over it. As long as it clicks in you’re good for at least one more time, haha. I’ve also used epoxy and a washer for where those Christmas tree clips go into.
I say it all the time but these videos are such a visual experience every time. Everything is shot beautifully, the voice overs keep me engaged and feels like the shots really tell a story. Not only that, but the content is always on point. Absolutely beautiful wheels Mike, one of my favorite e36’s out there
E87s are bananas but the true e36 wheel is the OZ Futura, this is what your HREs reminded me of, I wouldn't be sad to see a set of Futuras in 17 (or Mitos, or PG1s) on there
Love the wheels! and with the interior pieces that you have to wait for it's like the old saying goes: a project car is never finished especially when it's "perfect" we'll wait for you to get em and put em in and all will be right in the world.... until you do something else to it 😅
Maybe I'm just stuck in the past but I think I like the ACS Type 1's the best on this car. I liked them better than the HRE's, and I prefer them to the E88's as well. I totally understand wanting to change it up though.
I have a car that i relate to you on your e36, its a forever car, i hate it, i have little motivation to touch it, but i love it. Ive also had it since i was 18 in 2008
For me the HREs were perfect, something about them just looked right. I’m not a big fan of the finish on the BBS, polished is not really my jam but they’re a cool wheel all the same. Should have gold plated them like the Ronals on Rusty!
Beautiful, I know it fights you every step of the way but my days is it worth it... Maybe it's less of a fight and more of; the car knows what it wants? Haha Either way, that wheel and tyre combo looks absolutely unreal and utterly sets the entire car off, what a beaut 👌
Have you thought of putting rear electric windows? I know it’s not that big of a deal, but it is sure nice to open rear windows while driving. Also, I feel so sad and stupid that I sold my last e36 328i Coupe some several years ago that was so dumb and I miss it dearly.😢 Love to watch how someone is taking care if they’re e36 it warms my soul. Someday I will find that e36 I am looking for to fill that hole in my heart and I will never sell it, never!
I love the car and everything you’ve done with one exception, the wheels lol. As a former master BMW tech in the late 90’s - 2000’s, I hold strong on M Contour wheels being the absolute perfect wheel on the e36.
I also follow Phil Morrison over at DriftWorks UK, who is also a wheel whore. He fitted a set of E88s to his 996 GT3. The impact of your E87s has just as much impact. There’s just something special about these classic BBS designs. They just got it right! I’d like to see something on ‘up sizing’ lips/barrels to make a 17” into an 18”. Your wheels almost look like that already but, I’m not sure if I will still retain calliper clearance? Instant win with these E87s!
Sorry bro but HRE over BBS all day every day. Don't get me wrong brand new polished Motorsport BBS are def cream of the crop just BBS are every where even tho 87's are über top shelf it's still yet another BM on BBS... where as HRE are über slept on & even more so the 525's look absolutely phenomenal silver on silver perfectly suiting the e36. Something about the fat 5 spoke just work's beautifully combined w/ the boxy e36 body lines/silhouette not to mention perfectly period correct and last but not least IMO HRE's are some of the only wheels that actually look better with the center caps installed and for those in the know that shield means timeless taste & final point the subtle hint of blue & red of the HRE shield logo adds just the right amount of accent color w/ the silver on silver colorway I know I won't change your mind more so just wanted to praise your HRE setup
Donut paid $15,000 for a 7.3L LSX engine thst was missing a piston pin circlip & had scratches on a couple main bearings. Had they not discovered the missing piston pin clip. That engine would have been wrecked within minutes of starting.....I'm beginning to think a similar situation occured with the K24. Great parts poor engine assembly from the seller.
@@obvra If I remember correctly 1st his gearbox broke. They found one in OZ at the WTAC race. Then did a couple more laps & the K24 blew......Engine seller said "Yup, it's broken but we don't know why 🤷♂️. Surely it couldn't be from a mistake on our end."
Been following you for some time. Your content is stellar! Keep up the phenomenal work… p.s. If you ever find yourself with too many sets of wheels taking up space, wouldn’t mind buying a set. Could use something for my e36 + we’re both in Florida 🥂
Lets see how long those wheel weights stay put with the ceramic coating on there. Typically the double sided tape has a hell of a time sticking to any ceramic coating.
We stripped the ceramic off in the right spot for the application of the weights. And then we used adhesion promoter. We were concerned about that too! Should be okay.
I LOVE Dry Ice Blasting, it is such an amazing tool, but also, it is a VERY dirty job, everything you clean has to go somewhere, and that somewhere means EVERYWHERE else, i wouldn't dare to do that on my shop, you will be chasing dirt for years from every corner of your shop.

This my favorite of all your builds. Takes one back to the forum days.
The HRE wheels are nice, but the BBS motorsport wheels you got look great on the car. Love the aggressive stance!
Those rollers are just phenomenal! Looks like a huge aesthetic improvement over the HREs, even though I loved the HREs! Looking good Mike!
Forums need to come back to life, the Stanceworks forums is what got me into the E36

The 36 is such a handsome car. Love it and the new wheels are awesome. I love both styles.
@5:00 Peep the sweet doggie in the background being camera shy. Awwww..

I have been a fan of this car since the beginning! I would say Perfection achieved!
Man, this is truly THE perfect e36
Pretty alright E36 I guess. Missing some mirrors
Those BBS wheels are tuff as they are unique and not widely seen on many cars. Looks great!!!
