I saw a burgundy 85 524 td at my local gas station in 1989 filling up with diesel, the gentleman bought it new, I fell in love with that car, 2021 I saw it for sale in a yard, I bought it, he has passed away from cancer in 2019 and his widow hoped it would go to someone who loves it as much as he did. Yeah it's not a racer but it's a rare e28 turbo diesel that makes me extremely happy every time I drive it, I grew up driving old series Land Rovers in the 80's and 90's so that 121 horsepower is much appreciated over the 70 horsepower of my old Rovers.

Dude, absolutely spot on content. It's the simple pleasures that make being a car guy worthwhile most of the time. Doing a crazy swap or a big HP conversion is great and everything, but most of us can't achieve that stuff. So when you install fresh wheels and sort out the wheel gaps, that's relatable to most of us as it's attainable. Wheels and a drop is usually someone's first mod on their car.

This is so crazy, I owned a 83 520i while I was stationed in Germany. It was my first car in 96 and it was the car that got me into loving to drive. I drove her all over Germany until the clutch fan went and blew into the radiator. I wish I had her repaired and kept her. Yours looks amazing and now I'm looking for one.

this is probably the most fun format of video you do. I love the technical build breakdowns, the step by steps, but these more candid looks are so cool.

Can't argue with your taste, the sharknose era are THE real BMW's for me. Had a e28 528I then moved onto a e24 M635csi, 25 years ago (euro's since I live in europe) Loved them both and still miss them.

This has got to be one of my favorite videos. The vibes are great and it had a little bit of everything. It’s awesome that Anthony is joining the crew and at such a good price! I hope to do the same with an e28 as they are definitely one of my top 5 attainable dream cars.

This was refreshing to watch. The big builds are intense and very informative. But the roots vlogs are pure entertainment, you can feel your enthusiastic energy come thru the camera

When you said "this is my dream car" though...man, I remember my uncle had one of these in metallic green. Loved that car as a kid. Good to see there's some clean ones left.

You nailed it on the cars I love. I drove an E28 for a decade and I put a similar wheel with all the spokes like the Alpina. Got one compliment and one speeding ticket. Did love that car bought from Eurasion Bob Wichita KS. He laughed and pulled it out on the street and did a burnout. "Hey take it easy on my car" as i realized i had already bought the 535 5sp in my head. Hauled a single axle uhaul trailer up to Montreal in the ice and it was perfect. Had a small accident with some Canuks up there and got a new paint job the old style you can't get in the US anymore. Put some M5 spec roll bars on it front and rear - couldn't tell, it already rode great anyway. Miss that car - gave it to my mechanic to fix my 560sel. He did and gave me the E28 to drive as a loner. Man was I sad about that trade as he had breathed on the magnificant straight six and the suspension as well. These are great cars!

I love my e28, I took out the m20b20 and sourced a period correct m30b35 euro engine from an e32 7 series. mated to a e28 M5 overdrive gearbox and 3.91 diff. They all fit like Lego blocks.
    Love from Cape Town,South Africa.

@stanceworks couldn't agree more that these cars are truly special. I bought a non-running '84 528e 5spd in 2013 for $400, replaced a bad clutch master cyl, and drove it the same week. The upper part of the HVAC box was super melted from a previous blower motor fiasco so I parked it for a bit (2 years) while trying to save up for that/other parts and nearly sold it. FINALLY found the right parts, thrashed it back together, lowered it on Koni Yellows + BavAuto springs, and drove it daily to my first "real" job. I was lucky enough to buy a house in 2017 and I used it as my UHaul with a roof rack + basket. Its still waiting behind my dad's shop for some new front floor pans and a return to the road. Thank you for sparking me to get back to work on it!

16:24 if he says it's good, then it's an excellent car. Big, big score for Anthony. Here's to many years of happy ownership.
YOU HAVE TO take the boys for a ride on some hills once this is buttoned up.
edit: yup. defo enjoyed it. This is what it's all about. With the boys, tricking out cars, talking sh!t and having fun. Once in a while a "hair down" vlog style episode is aok on me.

I just lowered my E28 this week too, and the transformation is exactly what it needed.
There's just something about them that is hard to explain to other people, but yep, I bloody love mine (apart from the automatic transmission), which is not an easy conversion find here in Australia.

I feel you about how these cars mean so much, but objectively... They shouldn't. But when mine broke down last, I had to let it sit for a couple years. Not long ago I got it running again and just sat in the drivers seat and cried.
Still have the whole rear end off while I refresh all that, but I can't describe how badly I want to just get in and disappear into the countryside for a few days. They're such special cars.

I've had loads of e30s, few e34s ,e36s , e38s, even some newer e39s, e46s, e60s,e90s....but always come back to the classics! Love the content, and have subbed! From Scotland, UK ❤
