Door Latch Repair on Toyota Tacoma SR5 - Bad Wrench

- In this video, we repair our old door latch on our 04 Toyota Tacoma SR5. In the last video we removed this door latch because it got damaged and I have to fix it. The door latch has rods connected to it that makes the door handles work. If they get bent you will need to fix them so the door will open properly. This is a simple repair it just takes some time and a few different pliers.
Tools needed:
Pliers
Needle nose pliers
Flat pliers
Metal file

Awesome! Thanks so much. It wasn't that bent. Just had to tweak it a little, lubed it up, and put it back together. Works great now. Thanks again.
After replacing my passenger door handle, the door locks while trying to pull the handle from outside to open the door. What could be the problem? Will I have to remove the assembly to fix it?
@WillB-808-j6o yes you will have to take it apart. This sounds like the rods are bent. It is common to have to replace the rods at the time of replacing the latch.

Something is lose out side handle just flops up an down
my 2000 tacoma when you press the lock 🔐 button doors locks but then doors won't unlock ???
If it is not a low battery in the key fob, then it mighty be that the door latch is dirty. If the latch gets too dirty, it can get sticky. Sometimes, it can be flushed with wd 40.
