Er? The cyclist was technically undertaking the car driver as they had pretty much got in front of you. Luckily they didn't speed up when the cyclist decided to make it difficult.

If you're trying to overtake a cyclist they are in front so, yes, they have right of way. The amount of times I had to slam on my brakes because of a parked car infront and a car just about to overtake me with no room. That's illegal. Overtaking causing someone to slow down is a dangerous overtake and an immediate fail on your test

Best thing to do, as a cyclist I find.. is show the car you know they’re there, then pullover whilst still riding, and gently wave the car past you... then the car respects you for not wasting their time, plus you don’t have to stop., you just let them know that you’re confident for them to pass you.. coz a lot of drivers get nervous passing riders.. however if you give them that sign that it’s ok to pass u they are ok with it.

I see a narrow road, parked cars and cyclists. Sometimes, it isnt possible to give cyclists the space they want on uk roads. Campaign the local council or the government to build dedicated cycle paths.
If a road is wide enough for two cars to pass, then it's wide enough to safely overtake a cyclist. You can only overtake a cyclist though where it would be possible to pass a car travelling in the opposite direction, so not where there are parked cars or where the road narrows. The driver chose the worst possible point to overtake, but did have safe opportunities both before and after that point.
Car is in the wrong, poor choice of a place to overtake obviously, but its the I must get past even if I kill the cyclists, the don't think there even doing anything wrong thats the danger, your not stupid if you don't realise you are A. Lastly the problem often is they start going past at what looks like far enough away from the say narrowing part of the road or a traffic island, but don't realise sometimes they mite only be passing you at 10 mph faster than you are going, so by the time thay are half way past they are running out of room ,but now are dangerously committed to passing, its poor understanding of the distance and the outcome.
