Nice to finally see a proper review of this machine…it’s worth noting that the QHD version you tested has a G-Sync screen and Advanced Optimus whereas the 4K version doesn’t.
Great review! Amazed, and thank you. I am considering this for photo editing and general use, now see it is 100% gaming. Guess I'll keep looking. Recommendation?
@@iain710 I just have it in performance mode when plugged in. I also use Throttlestop to disable boost and have it undervolted -55mhv. Are you having stuttering issues?
No display port? I'm giving a hard look at this laptop but... I have two geforce capable AOC AG271QG monitors. One is connected to my present ASUS ROG G752VY via display port. So Geforce is enabled on that one. The other is connected via HDMI, so...no Geforce. The fact that I still cannot enjoy Geforce on dual monitors even if I upgrade to the Zephyrus S17 is disappointing.
Shame about the keyboard sound. Out of all the mechanical type switches they could have picked, they went with the loudest most annoying one possible. This would have been perfect if it didn’t sound like you were tapping a table with a pen every click…
@@markshayy8118 Almost about 3 months and haven’t faced any issues with the hinge part. Asus actually did a weird crazy stuff for the cooling system that actually works.
Won't it get too hot? If I build the same specs in desktop, there will will be bunch of coolers or fans. Other than 2 fans inside it and lifting up keyboard, how cooling system works in S17?
It goes without saying that this laptop has the most clever and advanced cooling system throughout the whole laptop. Im using this device for heavy rendering for Visual effects and stuff and the temperature never went above 85
I own last year's model and its less powerful but def gets got to touch at back end of keyboard, not enough to stop you from playing but its a persistent issue with ROG, prolly their one and only big problem. But mine doesn't have raised keyboard, it was the model before that.

Is it good to play when its Charger??
Many dust over the keyboard... How you can clean it? Thx.
I use the air spray which is enough for cleaning the vent
I have one of these and I love it! One of the best laptops I’ve owned
how solid do you find the hinges of the keyboard ?
please tell me what settings you use in armoury crate im struggling to optimise for gaming

What are its cons?
@@IbrahimFerhadli the only con I'd give it is fan noise. When playing demanding games it can get pretty loud. Other than that this thing rocks

Both TypeC USB ports are DP capable using a TypeC to DP cable.

@@Snaxolotl71 thank you so much
i have this fear that the keyboard hinge would break. What do you guys think ?
It is quite sturdy
@@johnchae37 how long have you been using it ?

that's not why you are getting a laptop.. you are getting it because it's portable. If you aren't going to travel much.. get a desktop.
