Do they have USB-C pass through charging? Old G14 could not bypass the battery and power the laptop directly, meaning it would top off and discharge the battery constantly!
@@crimsontechyt Thats a huge con. This isn't real usb-C charging. My Lenovo Legion Slim 5 14.5" does this and I can game while traveling no problem with a 100W charger and an undervolt.
hey great review, love your format by using only subtitles and bg music 😊, for your upcoming review, it would be great if you could give more details about the temperature of the cpu and gpu and maybe also external temperature.
I actually searched so hard for a reasonably priced A14 but the only seller on Amazon with the HX 370 just would not budge on the price of $1650 until after I bought the G14 at Bestbuy lol. I don’t regret at all because the G14 meets my needs best despite all the things I WANT to do with the A14, prob would have spent more to upgrade it with storage only to not fully utilize it like I always do. Still feels like the A14 is the one that got away though haha, can’t stop watching videos on it.😢
I also had the luck to test the TUF A14 myself and I can safely say, if not for the IPS panel and the average speakers, it would be far better deal. But since it comes dangerously close to the zephyrus, especially here where I could grab the 32GB ram model. I do not think Asus knew what they were doing with this one, unless they are planning big for the zephyrus line soon. If you do not mind the IPS screen, which is more than decent, this laptop is the best for laptop gaming, it is a beast.
Gotta say, this is a pretty rare tech video with a relaxing background music. Most of tech videos I watched were talking which makes it kinda bored after I watch it for some minutes...
a few years ago most 14inch ultrabook got 2 m.2 slots, since they only got 1 fan and 2 heatpipes this years, double m.2 slots is so rare on 14 inch laptops, except tuf a14, and it's a gaming laptop
The hx370 has a great igpu. Eta prime did some battery gaming test with the a14 and got 3 hours with brightness set to 50%. I'd really like to see more reviews share igpu battery gaming and performance
For $300 more, Zephyrus kicks the butt of A14 by miles OLED @ 500 nits Mackbooks level Speaker Aluminum body lasts longer Better thermal management More Clicky keyboard Much Better Trackpad. But dang that 370 AI processor is wicked fast
Yup. A14 with 8845HS would have been much cheaper. And G14 with HX 370 would have been a lot more expensive. Asus is in a weird situation where the premium tier has the lousier CPU and the budget tier gets too close in price to the premium tier.
Could you please compare “fingerprintability”? I’m surprised no reviewer talks about how quickly laptops accumulate fingerprints considering considering they’re meant to be handled
I actually talk about that in every video except this one 😭 I must have forgotten The G14 picks up less fingerprints, but when it does, you gotta rub pretty hard to clea them. The A14 gets them pretty easily
I'm confused to choose between two - in India, tuf a14 has 32gb ram/rtx4060, 2gb storage while g14 has 16 gb ram and 1 gb strogae with rtx 4060 for the same price. I do not know which one to choose, I do prefer g14 but can't decide. Help me Guys, or should I wait. I did searched for 32 gb variant but there is none. Both are price at 2000 dollars in India. Haha the previous gen of G14 2024, Will be more cheaper than G14 2024. But for me, the newest part on a laptop is more important than a gap price. But G14 2023 is still a good laptop btw.
Unfortunately the G14 doesn't have a fingerprint sensor. I said it had one by mistake in my original reciew, but it only has facial recognition with Windows Hello 🥲
i need it for uni ... the question is will the oled screen hold for 4 years? and is it better for the eyes than ips or worse? ... thanks btw for answering the previous question
Hi, Emi. Hold for 4 years? I hope so. Since ASUS using a panel from OLED in 2022, i see a little bit of user complaining about durability of this screen. So it Will be. And, if we research in YT or others social media, OLED has less of blue light, so it's safe for our eyes. Especially for us that using monitor more than 5-6 hours perday.
I dont know if it would have beaten the G14 if it had a 4070. It would have been margin of error, the G14 4060 and 4070 are already as close as this review shows. Most scenarios on this system are GPU limited and a new CPU isnt going to give much more FPS.
There's literally no space for another one in there, it has a nearly identical layout to the a14 but the space the a14 uses for an extra m.2 slot is taken up by a third cooling fan in the g14.
