I love how Andy and the guest both try to shake the drummers hand at the same time.

Thanks for uploading, this was my first exposure to her music. Watched Conan regularly around that time, and was kind of used to tuning out during the end music segments because they didn't tend to interest me much. This was different and caught my attention immediately, eleven years later and she's still my favourite working musician.

Love their rendition and the nod to Elvis Costello. Just kind of stunk they went from great upbeat song to whatever the hell this was lol

      Never heard her before?

I’ve heard of her loads but the comment above is spot on. Don’t, for the sake of meta-irony, go from an upbeat famous song to your down-tempo brooding song. You deflate your own energy

@@teodelfuego pretty sure it was 100% intentional to deflate the energy, kind of fits with the vibe of the song and its overall meaning

It’s a nod to Costello’s 1978 SNL performance where he agreed to perform “Less than Zero” but changed it to “Radio, Radio” live. The song is critical of the record industry and performing it on the show upset Lorne Michaels and NBC, which resulted in a ban. In 1999 for the 25th anniversary of SNL the Beastie Boys began their song “Sabotage” only to have Elvis Costello run out and interrupt them to perform “Radio, Radio” with them backing him. This is St. Vincent’s nod to that history. ❤
