But now I know that even if my family breaks apart, I know that my home is with my mom. She was with me throughout my hardest times, and I want to make sure that I can do the same for her. She’s where I feel safest and where a piece of my heart lies. So no matter what happens to my family, I know that when I’m with mom, I’m at home.
What I love so much about this song. Is that it can be for any of the rwby characters. To me personally it's about Qrow, and his niece Yang, and his daughter Ruby.
I listened to this when my mother, cats and I had to evacuate my childhood home because bushfires were threatening our town. We didn’t know if we’d lose our home and had to stay in a distant relative’s basement, far from home, for weeks. It was weird and it’s hard to articulate why it was so hard. But this really helped.
Dude, this is either Summer or Yang, and either way it's great. I think that I lost the ability to cry at sad music after listening to "Cold" and "Forever Fall" on repeat so often, but dang, this comes close to doing it. This is one of the songs that I want played at my funeral. This, "Cold," "I Wish Grandpas Never Died," and "Carry on Wayward Son."
Being a RWBY fan since the beginning and stuff, despite all the shitflinging that goes around about this and that or stuff about RT truly going under Casey and Jeff's work (as well as the several amazing people they worked with and featured) ever since RvB, now that will always, always stay so close to my heart where I am both giddy like a child on Christmas morning when I hear their work and so incredibly emotionally touched at the same time Songs like this one, Indomitable, Forever Fall and others make me not only weep both in terms of the context within the series, the emotions in the performance but also the period of time I heard them and how I felt with myself and the things they would turn my head towards I used to lay down and essentially cry myself to sleep listening to these songs, they filled my heart with such warmth like a parent cradling their child and humming/singing them to sleep. The warmth I felt upon hearing every word mixed with the sadness/sombreness/emotionally charged tone is a lot for me haha, struggling deeply with mental blackness and loss of self of sorts, feelings of complete familial detachment and everything like that While I don't have a good relationship with my parents anymore and I have no intention of making one any time soon, and while I have many problems that leave me ashamed, I dream of holding these songs with me everywhere I go and that one day I may be able to give that warmth to a child or a person dear to me with these songs playing. I can't fathom being in a romantic relationship, but I have always wanted to have a kid to raise and teach and pass on as much as I can and despite not knowing how to do those, I can only pray with my everything that at least I can pass on the warmth these songs have given to me I can only hope.

I lost my dad last year, and happened to run back to this song…which brings me back all the memories I had of him from childhood until now… how he did his absolute best beside mom to raise me and my sister…he saw us grow up as adults and was able to see us become successful and go further than he could despite his limitations…I knew how proud he was, how happy he was living this life… I am blessed to have lived life so closely with all my family… He deserved to see his nieces and grow older…but god called him first… in between grief and absence the lyrics remind me of all he thought of, he left us all we needed… this song comforts me but at the same time makes me cry… time will let me heal, so now I will cherish this song to revive the memory of my dad every time I come back to it… to think RWBY can move hearts like this, makes me happy, Cassie has such a beautiful voice… Cherish your loved ones and live life with them as best as you can, you never know when they could leave your side… a united family is a dream of heaven, seek it, that is how we all should live… don’t give in, no matter how hard times are, fighting on for your loved ones can make you move mountains, family is the most special form of love, besides finding your other half…god bless all…

I got RWBY manga and it brought me back to these songs. I started binge watching them and it had me remembering memories of when I used to watch RWBY with my dog before he died in 2019. Good memories but a sad reminder. Almost if not everything in my life ends up reminding me of times with him or even of him for some reason. It's like the world doesn't want me to forget and I don't want to forget either. He's the reason why I got the RWBY manga in the first place. He's the reason why I am getting back into it after all this time. I always felt at home with him around. I could watch anything or do anything and my dog would have been there right next to me either watching with me, watching me do something, or just sitting next to me sleeping.

They said again and again Ruby and Yang are half-sisters. That's it, Qrow is not Ruby's dad and I hate this theory. One cannot simply care about another without being closely related to? My uncles deeply care about me but they are not hidden dads. XD And Tai got some trauma. He lost Summer and broke up with Raven (pretty bad I guess), he tries his best to be a Dad, a teacher, a Huntsman, etc... And I think he is doing a pretty good job.

I've got to hand it to Qrow. He sees that Raven's way of being a parent isn't adequate, so he decided to do something about it and does his best to take her place. Because every child needs two parents. Whether they are male and female, or both male, or both female, I guess it doesn't matter. Mad respect to this guy.
Qrow is truly my favorite Male character of all of RWBY now. The best uncle, despite his semblance forcing him to live isolated for the most part, purely for the sake of keeping those he loves and care for safe from his own semblance that he can't control. Somehow, despite this he is kind, loyal, loving, and protective of those close to him, especially his nieces. He deserves better than what's happened to him, but damn do I respect him!

Weiss no longer calls her original family her family. A family is a happy group of people who enjoy being near each other and weiss is happy around the rest of her team. Also the only original family member she still calls family is winter.

I recently discovered what this song means to me. Let me summarize: I'm 20 years old, this past summer, 19 year old me went to visit my father who lived out of state for the first time in my life. That was a weird feeling. I came from my mother who would constantly "borrow" money from me after each paycheck and many other things that I thought was normal, people kept telling me it wasn't but I didn't believe them, until I went to my father's, where I discovered something. It wasn't normal. There, in my father's home, I met my 2 younger brothers and step mother. Not once was I asked for money, not once was I belittled for the sake of being belittled, I wasn't talked down too because of something small that I couldn't help, I was treated as a human being, and received the love that one should have. When Father's day came around while I was up there? I told my dad "come on, let's go get something for you." He only smiled and said "no, you just coming up here and willing to do this is more than enough for me." Where as, my step father back "home" wanted a sandwich maker that was roughly 40-50. My mother shit down every other idea I had, considering how I was gonna be able to get a personalized autograph from Frylocke from ATHG for him. When I boarded my flight to come back from my father's, I had a letter from my stepmother who wished me the best and told me to always keep in touch and let them know if I needed anything. I learned that moment, that my mother's house wasn't my home. But my father his family, they were a home. One I couldn't live in, but one I could visit and stay in whenever. I sent this song to my stepmother after I landed. I was in tears as my grandparents picked me up and brought me to their place, from there I went somewhere else. My friend Nick's. My roommate, who made it my new "home"
If you think about it, for a lot of their early life, Qrow would’ve been the only active parental figure the girls had. Tai was depressed and moping. Raven had run back to the bandits. And Summer was gone. Qrow, God bless his liver, probably had to haul most of the family weight until Tai finished grieving. (While I was typing this, I had a vision of Qrow standing in the kitchen wearing his huntsman outfit and a frilly pink apron making breakfast for little Ruby and Yang and now I’m laughing.)
The Last Lullaby As the song starts, we see the inside of a wooden home. A fireplace crackling in the background. as an orange glow illuminates pictures of family and friends. A white hooded cape hangs on the wall. We see a young Ruby and Yang fast asleep in their beds while a gentle hand runs over their hair. Summer is singing this as their lullaby. She looks down with a smile as she sings to them. She leans down to kiss them both goodnight and slowly gets up and closes the door looking in on them. As the song continues in the background. Summer goes to the front door and grabs her white hood and weapon. Tai, standing in the door frame near the hallway "Please, don't go" he softly says to her. As she puts on her hood she turns back and walks up to him. She places her hand on his cheek "I have to go, no one else can do this but me." She reminds him. "what if something goes wrong, what if you don't come back" Tai says frustratingly. "Then the girls have their father to look over them and protect them for me." She leans in to kiss her love as a tear rolls down her cheek. "Goodbye" she whispers as she rushes out the front door. Tai stands clenching his fists and holding back his tears. Summer walking down the path to their home looks back with watery eyes and then disappears in a flurry of white rose pedals. Later we see a young Ruby playing outside with Tai and Yang "When is mommy coming home?" Ruby asks Tai. He squats down to her level "I'm not sure, could be a while, but if you always remember her up here (pointing to her head) and in here (pointing to her heart), she'll always be home with us. Just an idea I had.
The soundtrack is still the best part of this series, in my opinion, and I sincerely hope Jeff, Casey, and Alex can keep up the quality of their work for each year to come.

SPOILERS (V5) Yang finally meets Raven and wants her to create a portal to Qrow so she can meet Ruby (Raven's semblance is the ability to make portals to people she's connected to, e.g., Yang, Tai, Summer, Qrow) and in the process she discovers she captured Weiss. Weiss threatens them with her giant knight. Raven refuses Yang's demands since she knows Ozpin is not so good and Qrow's a fool for trusting him, and that if Ruby is with them then she's too far gone. She invites the two to her tent to spill some info. Then Weiss suddenly hugs Yang and says, "I missed you so much!" while this plays in the background :')

Baking Cookies Its a bright and sunny day as the sun gleams through a 4 pane kitchen window. We see a young woman from the front humming this song. She's wearing a white summer dress and has tinted read hair. She is holding a bowl and stirring it with a large wooden spoon. "Are the cookies ready yet mommy?" a small voice shouts out from behind her (as the music plays on in the background). As Summer turns around we see a young Ruby in a black dress and Yang in a T-shirt and shorts standing with smiles on their faces. "Almost Ruby, would you girls like to help me finish them?" "YEA" they scream and rush to the table. Yang gets up on the chair and with both arms, tries to help stir the thick dough. Her tongue sticks out as she tries hard to stir, but with Summer's hands guiding her, she manages. Ruby stands on her tippy toes watching them mix the batter. Once done, Ruby steps up and helps Summer roll the dough into little dough balls to place on the baking sheet. Of course a few go missing when she hands them to Ruby. "hey, I want some too" Yang replies. SO Summer gives her one as well, and one for herself too. Once all the dough balls are placed, they each put on their own oven mitt and all three slide the tray into the oven. A little while later we see Summer and the girls strolling into the front yard. Summer is holding a basket and a blanket in her arms as the girls skip towards the shady tree. She lays out the blanket under the shadow and places down the basket. She brings out an ice cold bottle of Milk and the batch of fresh cookies. Both the girls grab a cookie (or two) while summer pours them a glass of milk. In the background we see Tai walking up after a day of hunting Grimm from the nearby town. He lays down his weapon and sneaks up on the girls and scoops them up in both arms. They both scream and laugh as he holds them. "What do we have here?" Tai remarks, "I could smell it from town. Are these the famous Supermom Cookies?" Summer replies "actually you can call these the super daughter cookies today." "Oh?" Tai says. "Yea me and Yang helped mommy make them today." Ruby yells. "I helped stir the dough for her" as Yang flexes her arms showing how strong she is. "And I put them on the baking tray to cook" Ruby says. Tai takes a bite of one cookie "Wow these are delicious. Looks like I have two future great chefs here." "Looks like I'm out of a job then" Summer giggles. All of them laugh and start to talk and play in the yard as the camera zooms out. The four figures slowly drift and fade away showing just a bare yard out front from the same 4 pane window. We can see Tai's reflection in the window as he looks out from the kitchen. He pours himself a glass of milk and grabs a stale cookie from an old cookie jar. He grins and says "Come home safe girls. I could use a new batch of cookies soon." He walks away and on the oven in front of where he was standing are three oven mitts hanging from the door handle.

I got RWBY manga and it brought me back to these songs. I started binge watching them and it had me remembering memories of when I used to watch RWBY with my dog before he died in 2019. Good memories but a sad reminder. Almost if not everything in my life ends up reminding me of times with him or even of him for some reason. It's like the world doesn't want me to forget and I don't want to forget either. He's the reason why I got the RWBY manga in the first place. He's the reason why I am getting back into it after all this time.
I always felt at home with him around. I could watch anything or do anything and my dog would have been there right next to me either watching with me, watching me do something, or just sitting next to me sleeping.

I've got to hand it to Qrow. He sees that Raven's way of being a parent isn't adequate, so he decided to do something about it and does his best to take her place. Because every child needs two parents. Whether they are male and female, or both male, or both female, I guess it doesn't matter. Mad respect to this guy.

Qrow is truly my favorite Male character of all of RWBY now. The best uncle, despite his semblance forcing him to live isolated for the most part, purely for the sake of keeping those he loves and care for safe from his own semblance that he can't control. Somehow, despite this he is kind, loyal, loving, and protective of those close to him, especially his nieces.
He deserves better than what's happened to him, but damn do I respect him!

I recently discovered what this song means to me.
Let me summarize: I'm 20 years old, this past summer, 19 year old me went to visit my father who lived out of state for the first time in my life. That was a weird feeling. I came from my mother who would constantly "borrow" money from me after each paycheck and many other things that I thought was normal, people kept telling me it wasn't but I didn't believe them, until I went to my father's, where I discovered something. It wasn't normal. There, in my father's home, I met my 2 younger brothers and step mother. Not once was I asked for money, not once was I belittled for the sake of being belittled, I wasn't talked down too because of something small that I couldn't help, I was treated as a human being, and received the love that one should have. When Father's day came around while I was up there? I told my dad "come on, let's go get something for you." He only smiled and said "no, you just coming up here and willing to do this is more than enough for me." Where as, my step father back "home" wanted a sandwich maker that was roughly 40-50. My mother shit down every other idea I had, considering how I was gonna be able to get a personalized autograph from Frylocke from ATHG for him. When I boarded my flight to come back from my father's, I had a letter from my stepmother who wished me the best and told me to always keep in touch and let them know if I needed anything.
I learned that moment, that my mother's house wasn't my home. But my father his family, they were a home. One I couldn't live in, but one I could visit and stay in whenever. I sent this song to my stepmother after I landed. I was in tears as my grandparents picked me up and brought me to their place, from there I went somewhere else. My friend Nick's. My roommate, who made it my new "home"

I love how this song plays when Weiss and Yang hug at the bandit's camp. They are eachothers home and this makes my heart is melt.
If you think about it, for a lot of their early life, Qrow would’ve been the only active parental figure the girls had. Tai was depressed and moping. Raven had run back to the bandits. And Summer was gone. Qrow, God bless his liver, probably had to haul most of the family weight until Tai finished grieving.
(While I was typing this, I had a vision of Qrow standing in the kitchen wearing his huntsman outfit and a frilly pink apron making breakfast for little Ruby and Yang and now I’m laughing.)

The Last Lullaby
As the song starts, we see the inside of a wooden home. A fireplace crackling in the background. as an orange glow illuminates pictures of family and friends. A white hooded cape hangs on the wall. We see a young Ruby and Yang fast asleep in their beds while a gentle hand runs over their hair. Summer is singing this as their lullaby. She looks down with a smile as she sings to them. She leans down to kiss them both goodnight and slowly gets up and closes the door looking in on them. As the song continues in the background. Summer goes to the front door and grabs her white hood and weapon. Tai, standing in the door frame near the hallway "Please, don't go" he softly says to her. As she puts on her hood she turns back and walks up to him. She places her hand on his cheek "I have to go, no one else can do this but me." She reminds him. "what if something goes wrong, what if you don't come back" Tai says frustratingly. "Then the girls have their father to look over them and protect them for me." She leans in to kiss her love as a tear rolls down her cheek. "Goodbye" she whispers as she rushes out the front door. Tai stands clenching his fists and holding back his tears. Summer walking down the path to their home looks back with watery eyes and then disappears in a flurry of white rose pedals. Later we see a young Ruby playing outside with Tai and Yang "When is mommy coming home?" Ruby asks Tai. He squats down to her level "I'm not sure, could be a while, but if you always remember her up here (pointing to her head) and in here (pointing to her heart), she'll always be home with us.

SPOILERS (V5)
Yang finally meets Raven and wants her to create a portal to Qrow so she can meet Ruby (Raven's semblance is the ability to make portals to people she's connected to, e.g., Yang, Tai, Summer, Qrow) and in the process she discovers she captured Weiss. Weiss threatens them with her giant knight. Raven refuses Yang's demands since she knows Ozpin is not so good and Qrow's a fool for trusting him, and that if Ruby is with them then she's too far gone. She invites the two to her tent to spill some info.
Then Weiss suddenly hugs Yang and says, "I missed you so much!" while this plays in the background :')

Baking Cookies
Its a bright and sunny day as the sun gleams through a 4 pane kitchen window. We see a young woman from the front humming this song. She's wearing a white summer dress and has tinted read hair. She is holding a bowl and stirring it with a large wooden spoon. "Are the cookies ready yet mommy?" a small voice shouts out from behind her (as the music plays on in the background). As Summer turns around we see a young Ruby in a black dress and Yang in a T-shirt and shorts standing with smiles on their faces. "Almost Ruby, would you girls like to help me finish them?" "YEA" they scream and rush to the table. Yang gets up on the chair and with both arms, tries to help stir the thick dough. Her tongue sticks out as she tries hard to stir, but with Summer's hands guiding her, she manages. Ruby stands on her tippy toes watching them mix the batter. Once done, Ruby steps up and helps Summer roll the dough into little dough balls to place on the baking sheet. Of course a few go missing when she hands them to Ruby. "hey, I want some too" Yang replies. SO Summer gives her one as well, and one for herself too. Once all the dough balls are placed, they each put on their own oven mitt and all three slide the tray into the oven. A little while later we see Summer and the girls strolling into the front yard. Summer is holding a basket and a blanket in her arms as the girls skip towards the shady tree. She lays out the blanket under the shadow and places down the basket. She brings out an ice cold bottle of Milk and the batch of fresh cookies. Both the girls grab a cookie (or two) while summer pours them a glass of milk. In the background we see Tai walking up after a day of hunting Grimm from the nearby town. He lays down his weapon and sneaks up on the girls and scoops them up in both arms. They both scream and laugh as he holds them. "What do we have here?" Tai remarks, "I could smell it from town. Are these the famous Supermom Cookies?" Summer replies "actually you can call these the super daughter cookies today." "Oh?" Tai says. "Yea me and Yang helped mommy make them today." Ruby yells. "I helped stir the dough for her" as Yang flexes her arms showing how strong she is. "And I put them on the baking tray to cook" Ruby says. Tai takes a bite of one cookie "Wow these are delicious. Looks like I have two future great chefs here." "Looks like I'm out of a job then" Summer giggles. All of them laugh and start to talk and play in the yard as the camera zooms out. The four figures slowly drift and fade away showing just a bare yard out front from the same 4 pane window. We can see Tai's reflection in the window as he looks out from the kitchen. He pours himself a glass of milk and grabs a stale cookie from an old cookie jar. He grins and says "Come home safe girls. I could use a new batch of cookies soon." He walks away and on the oven in front of where he was standing are three oven mitts hanging from the door handle.
