@Amelia Woodworth Jeff is by far the best RWBY writer. The soundtrack tells a greater story than RT could ever hope to tell. The soundtrack is the reason I left the show. After 6 Volumes, I felt cheated out of a greater RWBY that the Soundtrack promised.
As long as they keep Casey singing I dont think they can go wrong.
I think Jeff has stepped back as the composer, and Casey now writes the songs.
And thus Weiss' song arc is complete.

Ker Dunne I would say that there could be 1 more at least about how her life is when she's free from Jacques, and 1 more when she surpasses Jacques
The new Volume is based in Atlas, so we'll probably see an extension of her arc, most likely a confrontation with Jaques and/or Whitley.

When Weiss was Ten refers to the soundtrack playing when she talks with Yang about her version of loneliness, it’s in Volume 5 Chapter 8 Alone Together. The soundtrack sounded familiar so I doubled checked with the episode. (And yes it is just a continuation of path to isolation)

Sure criticism is good and RWBY has it's flaws but overall there is so much good about the show. Honestly be happy your'e not a Winx fan because RAI totally ruined Winx with season 8. RWBY is so damn good compared too that. I don't mean that so personally to you but to everyone complaining. I'm curious why you find Weiss character badly written because if she is bad already than the rest is even worse like Cinder who has no backstory while Weiss has such great developement.

Theme: Loneliness (obviously)
Weiss simply accepts the fact that nobody really cares about her beyond what they can get out of her (besides her sister who isn't there, her mother who is too drunk to show it and her actual servant). She hates every second of it and the fact that her life doesn't belong to her and she has to be completely perfect at all times, but still isn't sure what she feels or even who she is.
*Mirror Mirror Part I*
Theme: Introspection
Weiss admits that she has nobody and hates her life. That's the long and short of it. She's quite literally the girl who has everything, or almost everything. The one thing she doesn't have is the one thing she wants most in the world.
*Mirror Mirror Part II*
Theme: Guilt
Weiss struggles with her guilt over not being happy with what she has. She is quite possibly the most privileged person in the entire world and could afford to buy everything she owns a hundred times over, so she feels has no right to want anything and everyone around her reinforces that belief by holding her wealth over her head like a Sword of Damocles and up until after the whole Blake reveal she plays her role and pushes everyone away. Slowly, she comes to terms with the simple fact that she has every right to want someone to care about her. She ends the song by announcing that she might just do something about that.
*It's My Turn*
Theme: "Fuck you. Fuck you twice. Fuck you thrice."
Weiss finally decides that she's not going to bow and play her role. She knows what she wants and accepts that she has every right to want it. She has people that care about her and she's not going to throw it away for anything because it means more to her than all the extravagant luxury she hated in the first place. She spends the whole song pretty much telling Jacques she knows what he's done to her, that she hates him and will happily be left penniless and in the gutter because even if it means everything to him it means nothing at all to her.
*This Life Is Mine*
Theme: The title says it all.
She knows what Jacques is, she knows what he's done to her and to loads of other people and that she hates every single part of it, especially the fact that he single-handedly destroyed her entire family and burned her grandfather's legacy to dust to raise a fortune built on blood. She finally accepts that she isn't to blame for any of it, that she wants nothing to do with it and that she's willing to do anything to get away from it. Again, even if she's left penniless and in the gutter. She's her own person and has people who care about her and who she cares about in turn and that's worth every single penny.

Mostly I compare myself to both Yang and Ruby, but when it comes to deeper emotions, it's definitely Weiss. I don't know about you all, but her songs hit me hard.
I agree with you on that the songs for her are like a message to the people who are listening to the song that she needs someone else to help her with the pain or some kind of hard ship

Yeah i hate to say it but Weiss might be the true protagonist. Ruby sure isn't one.
Obviously the main character is Mile...I mean Jaune. Why else would Cinder choose to fight him instead of the girl she was hellbent on destroying.

In terms of development and being likable, she is on the top spot. From being a spoiled brat, now she is a down to earth relatable character.

I've hated Weiss in Volume 1, but she grew on me, She's such a good character with amazing character development, and This Life Is Mine is one of my favourite songs from the Volume 4 album.
She’s funnily the opposite of Blake who from my experience started out as most loved and has had equal development but is now the most hated out of the main cast due to just how disjointed her development has been.
Well on Volume 1 I just realized myself on long time ago, but Weiss & I were the same to act ourselves

Fuzzy Pickles I haven’t seen the newest season (last I saw the gang was back together, Yang told her mom off like a badass, and they were about to head to Atlas)
That said, from what I have seen of Whitley, I kinda like the villain arc he’s developing. I actually want to see more of him as the show moves on, slowly developing into either a major antagonist, or not having the subtlety of his dad and getting arrested or something super anticlimactic.

You know who true best girl is when they got a song for their character each volume. I love weiss even from the beginning.
Am I the only one who kinda thinks that It's My Turn should come after This Life Is Mine? This Life Is Mine starts off with her doubting herself, but has her making the decision to break away from her father. It's My Turn sounds more like it's remembering how she used to be, but doesn't show any of the doubt she expresses in This Life Is Mine, suggesting she's ALREADY broken off...
Other Grimm I saw it as her reflecting on her past to decide it was her turn to take charge and then she confronts her father telling him that he life is her own, not his. It also ends the mirror mirror ark by saying "mirror mirror now we're done"
That's actually part of my point. This Life Is Mine has the 'Mirror mirror, now we're done' line, saying that she's done talking to the mirror...and there are no mirrors mentioned in It's My Turn, showing that she really is done with that stage of her past.
It wasn't a complaint about your video, just something I was thinking about when listening to all of the songs.

after listening to the song, i also agree its my turn should go at the end. its more about the lyrics as well as the musical progression.
the songs are mostly slow with good piano, some guitar with some haste and heavier tones towards the ends.
this life is mine starts just as slow as her other mirror songs then gets heavy and fast in the last verse
its my turn is is almost ALL fast and heavy.
put with what the lyrics say in each song, it makes more sense that this life is mine comes first, then its my turn.
I like TLiM at the end because it's a summary of her whole journey. All the other songs cover a specific part of her character arc. Plus it feels like a more epic song to go out on.
This saves me the trouble of making a playlist of my own.

Listening to the characters of Rwby theme songs,just wants me to jump into the story and help them until the last of my strength. The theme songs and the show makes us the watchers feel like we're apart of their stories. Monty,you have made in fact beautiful show with great characters.

I love all of Weiss's songs. But the one that really hits the hardest of them is "This Life is Mine".
The way the song starts out slow and soft and progressively becomes faster and more emotional hits like a truck.
And then by the second time "I'm not your pet" comes around. I find myself screaming in unison with tears falling down my cheeks.

Weiss is the one I relate to the most, a absent parent, a parent who makes her believe she isn't enough and she must toe a line they drew.
Seeing Weiss come into her own, fills me with the hope that I can become like her.
Hearing "I'm shattering the mirror" was so satisfying after all the other songs. After everything Jacque put Weiss through, she almost became a different person, someone different than who she knew she was in her heart. With help from her team, Winter, and the staff at Beacon, she realized that a huntress was who she was, in her mind and in her heart. She shattered the mirror that had kept her from knowing who she was, and became whole.

I love Weiss' songs.. Ah who am I trying to fool, I love all the RWBY songs.. Damned masterpieces.
I love how these songs get slowly more rock as they go along and when it gets to the ending one it gets elegant one more time for a brief moment but then burst into rock again. Kinda like how Weiss slowly becomes a better person and sees how wrong her father comes and then when she comes back she puts on airs for a moment to go back but she realizes how wrong that is so she finally stands up and says This life is mine. Suck it dad. Which is why I think her songs are the best. However considering how meh her father's take down was.... I probably think of any other character with daddy problems over her.

What are you talking about? Red like Roses I, Red like Roses II, This Will be the Day and Let's Just Live are all Ruby songs. You can also consider the score playing during the Ruby character short as a Red like Roses III
Jinx Luna The Triumph is also very clearly a Ruby song because of the "yeah I'm a girl but I'm also a gun" line.
It will be awhile cause I have to make them. As Jinx Luna said some of the other songs can apply to Ruby although they aren't as specific as Red Like Roses.
I suppose they can be applied to Ruby. Imo, they really need to develop Ruby's character more so we could have more variety in her songs. She has been a one-note protagonist so far, so I can't really help but only think of Red Like Roses as Ruby themed songs.

Yang is in my heart as my favorite and she will always be but I gotta say from Volume 4 onward, Weiss is my favorite because how much incredible development she's had over the course of the show and her story is the most relatable to me personally (feeling trapped by an abusive family or in her case father and wanting to take control of your own life and break free). While I'd say she is definitely the least capable in 1 on 1 combat (she's an incredible support and vital to team combat), as far as developing and growing, Weiss takes the cake amongst Team RWBY.

So, I never thought too hard on Weiss' arc in the series (which hers has probably been the longest and slowest one, but one of the best when paying attention to her small points of character growth) Anyway, I think I can guess what the secondary plot arc will be for V7 knowing it's almost definitely gonna revolve around Weiss.
Weiss will return with her team initially defiant to her father (since she has her team right there) but Jaques will pressure her and attempt to force her into obeying him again (most likely by threatening team RWBY RNJR). Ruby will probably try to give Jaque a big middle finger and tell him to fuck off, but Weiss will cave for a while.
there'll be a low point where Weiss has to talk about what she wants to do and why she doesn't think she can do it (Most likely with the butler) where she'll decide that what she's doing and, even more, her team are both more important than keeping Jaques happy, which will cause more big middle fingers to Jaques while Weiss escapes again in a massive show of defiance that I HOPE will involve exposing Jaques as the abusive fuck he is.
