I agree with everything, but if I might add... from Oogie Boogie, Hoist the Colors, My Mother Told Me Queen in 5 Minutes (he was the Baron... which is funny considering this video, because that's a Voodoo figure), and so on and so forth "creepy as all get-out with a dash of elegance" seems to be the absolutely perfect look for Geoff, doesn't it?
Can we talk about how the conversation between Dr Facilier and Naveen at 1:30 became a rap part that totally blends in the song? I mean, how, that's so damn genius! Great work voice play Always your fan
Two things I absolutely love about this: J's back and he's spittin bars. Despite not being Dr. Facilier, Geoff still gets some highlights. In fact, every one here did amazing, and played their character perfectly.
The acting and costumes were phenomenal! Geoff looks like the "ominous bird of yore, the ungainly ghastly gaunt and ominous bird of yore" in human form. Layne looks like a witch doctor with that bone in his nose. And the fact that Eli, Ceasar and J. looked exactly like the movie made me go wide eyed. I love it.

Can we talk for a minute about J's GLORIOUS run at 3:04?? *picks jaw up off of floor* Those cool challenging jazzy chord progressions at 1:39 are the perfect backdrop for the spoken vocals in this song. Again, this ain't your granddaddy's a cappella group. *picks jaw up off of floor yet again* Eli, busting out his rock 'n' roll voice (2:48) is always a delight, and I look forward to it soooo much. He sure didn't disappoint here, even in his upper class tuxedo...you can put the rock and roller in a tuxedo, but you can't take away his attitude. Or something like that. It's an old saying, you've probably never heard it before... Cesar comes across as all innocent at first, but just look at that glint in his eye (2:09) - you just know he's a rascal. Absolutely Amazing Performance by VoicePlay yet again!! As a bass enthusiast, I must say that the recent placement/resonance change has been mindblowing! Geoff, you're sounding less and less like an acapella bass, and more and more like an orthadox basso produndo/oktavist! Keep it up! Particularly love the meaty/full sounding low G#'s in the bassline - just like in the Queen Medley. As for the rest of y'all, it just seems to always get better. Loving it VoicePlay!

I especially love the visual fire effects at (0:13) and (0:55), and the glowing skull mask fade (3:17) that perfectly captures the movie version in the way that only you guys can! Also, the casting is on point! J.Nooooonnneee! I have wanted to see/hear to sing this ever since the Aca Top 10 Villians medley, and when you left we all thought that hope was gone! Wow, my sis found out about this in advance and refused to let me even go on TH-cam, because she wanted me to wait until it came out so she could show it to everybody at once, and then BOOM. Not only was it one of the best songs from one of my favourite (newer) Disney movies (speaking of which, Eli did a perfect impersonation of Lawrence at the start there), but best of all J IS BACK, J SANG WITH VOICEPLAY AGAIN, AND THAT MAKES ME SO, SO HAPPY, WOW I want to say more, but I've got to put this on repeat to keep getting more out of it so I can keep finding more things to say, good GRACIOUS.
This one is absolutely wonderful to listen to. I love J's performance, and similarly everyone else's as well! It's so easy to tell you guys had a blast doing this and that just makes it all the more enjoyable.

Wow, my sis found out about this in advance and refused to let me even go on TH-cam, because she wanted me to wait until it came out so she could show it to everybody at once, and then BOOM. Not only was it one of the best songs from one of my favourite (newer) Disney movies (speaking of which, Eli did a perfect impersonation of Lawrence at the start there), but best of all J IS BACK, J SANG WITH VOICEPLAY AGAIN, AND THAT MAKES ME SO, SO HAPPY, WOW
I want to say more, but I've got to put this on repeat to keep getting more out of it so I can keep finding more things to say, good GRACIOUS.

This one is absolutely wonderful to listen to. I love J's performance, and similarly everyone else's as well! It's so easy to tell you guys had a blast doing this and that just makes it all the more enjoyable.

I adore this. Nearly every other version of this song gets the transformation, reformation, transmogrification part wrong. It just makes me so happy to hear it done right in such an amazing cover.
I asked for this since the ACA top 10 with just a snip of it...I am FAR from disappointed, this is spectacular and I love it when Lanye puts together creative arrangements like this one! Like damn you're all so talented!

Hei Hei's cameo was awesome, but did y'all catch the other Disney sidekick cameo? Aladdin's lamp makes an appearance a couple times in this video! It's on a red chair behind Eli, at 0:40, 1:24, 2:07, and 3:09, to name a few. Makes me love VoicePlay even more, they're always adding fun little details like this that next to no one ever notices.
How on earth do you spot these things? Usually takes me a couple of plays so spot all the little extras!
