Another great review Nathan . I have the hd 25 and it does the job for the price . I can spot foxes at 250m then id them with my nv . When money permits will get the next step up but for 1600 bucks its a pretty good start . Hope to get some foxes with the pard 008lrf this break as i m back from work . Keep up the good work mate .
I agree mate. At $1600 they are an awesome gateway thermal. Compare a HD-25 to a FLIR Scout or Leupold LTO tracker and the it'll smoke the toy units. I'm still getting used to full ID with a thermal on my rifle. Pro's and con's but NV is easier on static targets to ID.
Great stuff Nathan, was a bit shocked by the size of that python, spitting venom on the last clip🤣🤣🤣. Have had the Night Tech 50 for a while now and find it an excellent spotter. Thermion XM50 due this week. Getting excited. Keep the great videos coming and stay safe through these challenging times. Kindest regards Gary Gunner.
Yeah it's a bloody financial rabbit hole. The PARD was quite good. The video doesn't really show that at all. It's terrible TBH but was as good as we could get under the circumstances.
Rob a bank ? Well, if you're looking to be restricted, locked down, abused, ridiculed, and chastised . . . I can introduce you to my X wife. God be with you.
Pretty cool that we have a common friend Nath. I went to school with the bloke with the black jumper and glasses 👌🏽👍🏽. Thanks for showing this stuff mate, I have been tempted to get something, and now I feel a bit more informed. 🇦🇺🇦🇺👌🏽👍🏽.
Hey mate. That’s excellent information and loved the out takes at the end, good to hear some good old Aussie humour……. Looking into getting a thermal scope, I need to do some serious research before paying big bucks?
The new Pulsar Thermion XQ50 (384x288) has a much better image than the Thermion XM50 and requires far less refreshing. I think the new Thermion has the latest
great info, thanks. I have Thermion XQ50 as well, You mentioned the vertical lines and having to do a refresh quite regularly, the image in mine starts to lose detail within a minute or so, the Auto refresh happens every 1 minute which is a nuisance when the screen freezes, how do you get around that? I've started using semi auto.
Hi Firstly thank you for your videos. You have inspired me to do more night shoots. I already have a Pard IR scope on my impact. This works well but I need to step up to a Thermal Scope. What would you recommend. I mainly shoot pigeons and rabbits for my pest control company. My budget would top out at $10k.
Ohh mate, you need to step up into the Pulsar XP-50 series scopes and the Helion XP-50 Gen2 or Night-Tech XD-65pro monocular. Like you said, "buy once, cry once". You'll love it!!
Nath, seems the whole world is buying Thermals. Short supply in the major shops. Was looking at the XD 35 but seems may have to settle for HD 50 Lite. Is there much difference between them? Not concerned with recording events.
Hi Tony. I watched this last week that didn't favour the HD-50 very well at all. If your in that $3k realm the PARD SA35 is well worth a look too. Have a guy I know that can get them. th-cam.com/video/1wIV5cSs5CE/w-d-xo.html
Both B&H and OpticsPlanet list Pard SA62 as 640x480 sensor; has the sensor been upgraded since two-years ago when this vid was made? Both also listed Pard as a scope, not a monocular? What might be the max caliber Pard could reliably survive?
Thanks mate. I did think about that but it's a point that fluctuates a fair bit with tech changing, clear outs etc. A good example is the HD-25 Lite. Currently they have been on a big sale for $1600. But 3 months ago they were around $2200 ish I recall.
@@EDGEoftheOUTBACK fair point 😊👍 I'd just say "at the time of purchase" and "shop around as prices vary and go on sale" That way you can add what alot of ppl would think is vital information even if it is a rough guide, especially for ppl who arnt familiar with these new fandangle wizzbang dohickies 😅👌👍 but again, great vid n keep them up 🤠👍
I think you have a typo in the captions. At 8:05 you give 100 m for the Thermion XQ50, but then again at 8:16 you also give 100 m. I think you meant 200 m for 8:16.
🇦🇺😎👍That video was good big fella. I’ve got a HD 35 NightTech and i often wonder about the other products. The next step is the scope. Probably a Pulsar…Check this out ( PVS 14 Nightvision ) I’ve heard these are good and reasonably cheap…Great video, interesting
I think there is either something wrong with the camera settings or the settings on the pard. I got great detail in my Pard SA19. Not a big hot blub as you experienced.
@@EDGEoftheOUTBACK Check out my video that is called Pard SA19 "sky". At the end you get a little taste of what it looks like. It gets very easy overexposed and only shows a white blob when recording with a phone trough the eyepiece.
i have ATN thor 4 and PARD sa45. pard is much better. this video gives the viewer a completely wrong picture. pard is much more accurate than what the video looks like!!!

Why don’t you enable Adsense?
@@starquake7909 I certainly did mate. TH-cam unfortunately deem a lot of firearms or hunting content as not suitable for advertising.
Joined to support your content mate.
Never been on patreon before so it was a little pain to sort it but I'm now on.
Really appreciate it mate. Yes the whole thing is a bit different. Was the same when I set it all up originally. Whole new thing 🙄
Odysee and Bitchute my dude

You'll love that kit mate. Be a whole new gig running all thermal. Good times ahead for you 🦊
Well done boys it’s great to see them compared back to back
Cheers Steve. You'd have still made the same decision 😉
NIce honest review with no pretences, cheers for the upload and putting the effort in!
Cheers mate. All three of us figured it will be a useful comparison. Regardless of brands etc.
Great vid Nath, I was happy to see how good the Pard stacked up against the Thermion, now I just need to rob a bank😉

Great review, good to involve your mates impressions too 👍
Thanks 👍
Some serious money sitting on the tailgate. Nice review, cheers Nathan
Thanks mate, was a fun night to line them all up as a Joe Blow user
Hey mate. That’s excellent information and loved the out takes at the end, good to hear some good old Aussie humour……. Looking into getting a thermal scope, I need to do some serious research before paying big bucks?
Mate won't listen to anybody. Mate is busy with Thermal scanners
If you've got good budget then go for Pulsar Thermion 2 XP50 Pro with closed eyes. Best in the west
That's what I'm running now, and a Helion 2 XP50 Pro 💥
The new Pulsar Thermion XQ50 (384x288) has a much better image than the Thermion XM50 and requires far less refreshing. I think the new Thermion has the latest
The XQ38 Axion looks like a great little scanner. I'm certainly keen to have a play with one.

I run it in semi automatic 👌. Higher humidity I find makes it need a calibration more often too.
NHG 👍 nice work mate cheers

Hi mate. Have a look at my more recent content. Heaps has changed since this older video. I run NV mostly for my small game pest control.

Some day I might. But ATM it's all working well 😉. And I'm a enthusiast, not a pro getting income. I'm already way down the rabbit hole 😳
Naith - appreciated, only wished I had seen this before I bought mine, as my review shows on the Nite Tech 50.
That's a bugger eh mate. And exactly the reason we put it together as a bit of a gauge for others.
Thanks for this comparison.

Heaps has changed with all the devices in the last two years. The new SA62 is only just hitting the shelves now I believe but I know little about it.
That’s the scope for me when I can get my mits on one nath your a better shot than Simon Whitlock
Great comparo 👍 only thing I'd add is the prices... great job keep it up 😊

I could have mate. It's a lot of information to retain and repeat in the clips.
Pretty good photography. Could you elaborate on some details?
What details were you after. Happy to help if I can.
Thanks mate
Happy to help
@@EDGEoftheOUTBACK Just one favor. I'm thinking to buy Infiray E6Pro V3. What's your advice on this one?
On the InfiRay E6 scanners, I prefer the FOV on the E6+ version. The Pro is a bit narrow for a scanner at the magnification.

There was limited detail. But noticeably less than the others. They guys have 3x SA45's between them. They are all functional and the same.
@@EDGEoftheOUTBACK Okay, do you have the recommended settings? Har you tried using the "sky" mode?
I didn't have a whole bunch of time with the PARD, only the short time we took this video. Should get another play soon where I can try more things.
@@EDGEoftheOUTBACK Check out my video that is called Pard SA19 "sky". At the end you get a little taste of what it looks like. It gets very easy overexposed and only shows a white blob when recording with a phone trough the eyepiece.
I tryed the pulsar xq 38 and the pard sa45, much more detail with the pard sa 45
lol nice ending
Can you see through walls?
No, thermal can't do that.

I did say it's a poor representation. Certainly not trying to discredit the SA45, it seems a great device.
It ain’t cheap to get into
Your bang on there unfortunately.
Stingy man pays twice and often thrice!
Can definitely relate
