Absolutely agree its a satisfying hunt when you take a feral cat out of the equation...I always feel like I've done a solid favour for the local natives in the area. I'm in SE QLD and just got back earlier this week from a 4 day shooting trip with my older son who's in his early 20's...when I go with one or both of my sons, I take a back seat and let them do the shooting and as usual we did some spotlighting each night and my son took a couple of cats out with a Browning BL22 with iron sights...great video mate, thanks for sharing, I love watching your videos.
Bush bunny breakfast, readily served for the native scavengers, when they arise. That thermal footage is perfect, leaves enough 'gruesome' out, that your mind can easily paint the rest. oh, and your ATV work bench, is a techno marvel.
I gotta say, you, sir, have scopes that are absolutely DEAD ON!! Kudos to you! I love watching the blood spatter on the thermal scope! Pure, un-edited varmint hunting at its finest! Keep up the videos!
That 204 certainly sorts the bunnies out, looks like no one's shot on there for quite some time with the way the game was responding to the rifle shots, great vid, thanks for sharing.
Thanks Chris. That's a bizarre point on the hunting pressure. He let's a few groups on and one was there last weekend. Biggest factor is the thermal, no lights. Shine a white light around and everything livens up a LOT.
Thanks for the video. Excellent footage. One of the reasons I am getting thermal, for animals hiding in bush and grass, where you usually can't see them.
Thanks mate, glad you liked it. I'm amazed at how much I can see with a thermal that I miss with the lights, Very obvious when you run them in parallel.
Yah it's a little different than a mouse to a moose. It would take a pretty big caliber to scatter moose parts from them guys. I don't hunt the big wildlife at all for a long time now. All though I love venison and prairie antelope taste the best for me. I like to kill time watching you guys and keep knocking them down and be safe. Till then.
Thank you so much, I really needed that! There’s so much to like about this video I don’t know where to start! The thermal is so awesome 🐇💥I cant wait to get back out and have a shoot👍🏻
@@EDGEoftheOUTBACK it's alright where we are in rural Vic. It would be a lot better if people did the right thing. Thanks again ill be watching this one a few times
Awesome trip mate, think you got the pulsar dialed in nicely. The quad looks the goods too. Get yourself a oztrail gazebo, quick and easy for base camp wet weather protection
Thanks mate. The thermal certainly made it possible to see them but the lights were near useless. I reckon they have been breeding up since the drought safe and sound in that grass from other shooters..... Until a thermal wielding muppet with a 204 turned up 😀
That certainly ended up be a productive little trip. Having both the NV and Thermal certainly doesn't give the rabbits much of a chance. Good to see the bike getting a run👍👍
Well made video, plenty of rabbits out there. Pity you only saw one cat. That thermal gear really works well and I love the quad and how you have it set up. Cheers from Adelaide.
Really enjoyed that Nathan - thanks mate. I’m an old bloke but just starting out, and you probably don’t realise how much useful info I pick up between the lines on your videos. And really appreciate you show the odd miss too, otherwise I’d be thinking there was something wrong with me!!
Well done m8 those Feral Cat's do so much devastation here in Australian to our wildlife those things are big too nothing like a demestic cat, alot of people just don't understand, fair few rabbits there too, hope you keeped a few Bunny legs for a nice stew and dumplings dinner hmmm always tastie!!!!! nice too see a bit of outback bush and daybreak and sunsets a real treat thankyou!!!
Thanks mate. I was genuinely surprised to see that many. Has never been like that before. Certainly couldn't see them in the regular light where there were in cover. Thermal gave them no where to hide 😁
NICE SHOOTIN'...I enjoy your videos. Just the right combination of shooting and talking. Some people just feel the need to fill up all their video with audio of themselves blithering on about nothing.
Thanks mate. I'm trying to lean that side of it up more. Slowly getting there but it's a fine line between telling a bit of a story of the trip VS just all kill shots with zero context.
@@EDGEoftheOUTBACK clearly they don't understand the damage being done. Perhaps they would rather watch native animals being hunted by feral dogs, cats and foxes? Or the damage to the environment causes by pigs ripping up the ground. Bloody tree huggers.

@@EDGEoftheOUTBACK thanks for the feedback, really appreciate it. Leaning pretty heavily towards the Lithgow. Love that it’s Aussie made but do need to sus the cz’s out a bit more. Thanks again.👍
I think the .204 looks great for shooting but maybe not so great if you were trying to get some meat from the rabbits. Do you think some of your misses come from that small bullet hitting bits of vegetation in the brush? I can imagine a .17 HMR having a great deal of trouble with that kind of shooting if a stem of some kind were in the path of the bullet. I've never shot with a thermal sight, but my impression is that you really can't see individual stems that are in front of the target.
I'm not sure mate. Sorry this was a little while ago. The 204 punches through light vegetation pretty well but it is possible things deflect. Either that or I just missed 🤦♂️
