    I know this is a year old but I’m so glad I found it. I learned more from you in 15 minutes than I’ve learned in a month messing around on here. Thanks.

    I'm so glad you did this video. It helps me with the paint thickness as well as the pressure (no pressure) to use when dotting. As you were doing some of it, I was seeing the exact problem I have been having with some of my paint. Now I know how to fix that problem. Thanks!!!!

    Such a good, informative video. I’m new to this but I’m really enjoying it, so I’m thrilled to have your expert advice. I, too, appreciate convenience, especially when your making a million dots. So now I will be investing in some paints and I will lose my mind trying to limit myself considering how many beautiful colors there are.💝

    Thank you so much! As someone living in the EU where, though I can get DecoArt paints, they are rather expensive compared to the US. So I am trying to find a brand that has the right consistency. Meanwhile, as I was just starting out, I brought the locally available tubes of acrylic paint and mixed them with pouring medium. TBH it has been a bit difficult not knowing exactly what consistency I was aiming for. This really helped. As did the advice about how much to dip the tool in the paint.

    Thank you, Demi...this info is awesome! I so appreciate the info on the amount of paint to pick up on the tool. I am just starting to get into dot art and noticed on my practice dots the effect you mentioned so definitely will try to pick up more paint going forward. Would too little paint or too much pressure cause a similar issue with swooshes? I have not braved using a brush for those yet and have practiced using a dotting tool, yet my swooshes have streaks and are still not very pretty. Appreciate any guidance on that! Again, thank you for sharing your giftedness and knowledge....definitely gives me a goal to reach for!

    Wonderful info about paint consistency - Thank you so much!! What are your thoughts on Liquitex Liquithick Thickening Gel? As a beginner, I wasn't sure what to get, so I bought that and a little bit goes a LOOOOONG way, which makes it tricky to get the right amount (at least for ne).

    • @renee-mariesmith8965
      @renee-mariesmith8965 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Also, how do you fix the sticky/stringiness of the metallic paint? I have FolkArt metallic silver and gold, and they both seem very thin/watery, but also very sticky/stringy straight out of the bottle 🤔

    Thanks for the great tutorial. As a matter of interest, what yellow is best? I find most are transparent and if I add white it loses its vibrancy. Soooo frustrating!

    Is it possible to mix the gloss gel medium with Decoart Americana multi-surfaces satin for dot painting on ceramic or porcelain?

  • @samanthaconner9231
    @samanthaconner9231 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    How do I thin out ceramic paint? I'm afraid if I use a medium it will mess with the curing when I put it in the oven...

    • @fleurjasmin711
      @fleurjasmin711 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I have the same question. I first bought Decoart Americana Gloss enamel and then I bought Folkart Multi-surfaces. I'm so disappointed because they're too thick. I asked Plaid and they don't recommend to use a medium for ceramic. I wonder if someone tried.

    • @samanthaconner9231
      @samanthaconner9231 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @fleurjasmin711 I did try but it created a lot of bubbles when I mixed it. Heat brought them out maybe try a heat gun before painting to draw them out! In going to try again and I'll let you know how it turns out.

      You're right. I finally tried with a thinner Porcelain from Pebeo and it makes bubbles too. I didn't bake the mug.
      Oh yes ! Let me know how it turns out. Thank you !👍😃

    i have seen some people say they like that look from the folk art paint you did. i have seen some decoart like the gold is very runny, when u have finished something u are dotting is it ment to have like a 3d feel or when u run the fingers over it it is all flat

    • @thoughtfuldots
      @thoughtfuldots  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It can look and be however you want it to be. This is art and each artist will have a different vision and different definition of beautiful. There is no right or wrong way!

  • @starrspoter
    @starrspoter ปีที่แล้ว

    is it best to give the paints a bit of a mix after u pour it in there like u did with the decoart? instead of putting the stick straight in

    • @thoughtfuldots
      @thoughtfuldots  ปีที่แล้ว

      I do, just to make sure it's all mixed up and smooth. Sometimes the paint can separate in the bottle too.
