    I'm just learning about this so I've been watching a lot of TH-cam videos. And you are the only person that is talked about not touching the tool and just letting the paint make contact rather than the tool! That's a game-changer! Thank you

      I totally agree! I was going to post the same comment. I've only been learning this for about two weeks and I was getting so frustrated that my dots were not as smooth and symmetrical as what I was seeing on other's works. Now I know what I was doing wrong. Thank you so much for saving me hours of frustration!!!

    Thank you for describing the actual tool technique. It's exactly what I was hoping to find! A technical note on acrylic paint - it's water soluble, not water based. It's polymer based. The medium (clear body) is a form of plastic, in which pigments and fillers are suspended. For craft projects, thinning acrylic paint with water works okay. However, introducing water to acrylic paint weakens it. If someone wants to create an archival quality painting using this technique, they should either use a pouring medium to thin heavy/medium body paints, or start with a fluid acrylic like your black bottle paint :)

I wanted to let you know about something totally unrelated but comes from heart and good place ❤️ It’s about your short tooth that you have which soooo reminded me of my short tooth I had. I went through a lot with my teeth until one dentist told me he can just do bonding and add some material to it and make it look bigger. the whole thing was easier than filling about 30 minutes and cost 100 or 200 bucks. Anyways just wanted to let you know about that because your teeth reminded me of mine ❤️❤️❤️

    • @RockPainting101
      @RockPainting101  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      With the ball style as long as you are dropping it straight up and down it doesn’t matter where on the ball you hold the paint. Some other styles of dotters that are more flat you would have to hold vertically. It is all what works best for you ☺️

    Some of the acrylic paints, especially neon’ or glow in the dark paints are too watery, any suggestions for thickening? I tried ‘Liquitex’basics acrylic loss heavy gel’ but it gives a weird almost ‘sandy’ texture. I’m new to this, and my work is sloppy looking but I’m hoping will improve with practice…

    • @RockPainting101
      @RockPainting101  ปีที่แล้ว

      You could always put down white dots and then top with your colors so that they still show. I don't have much experience with thickening paint... usually I'm thinning it if anything.

    How do you know you are dotting in a circular line

    • @RockPainting101
      @RockPainting101  ปีที่แล้ว

      Most mandala designs that you are seeing the dot circles are actually painted out from the center slowly. So while you are curving your line as you go, you really are using the dot toward the center to guide you. I know that may sound confusing... here is a video you can check out! th-cam.com/video/qzuvfP2Oq7o/w-d-xo.html

    • @RockPainting101
      @RockPainting101  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      If your dots aren't coming out symmetrical you may be pressing down too hard with your dotting tool or your paint isn't the right consistency. As far as placement. I would work right on the circle when you go to play your dot the drip should land right on the circle and then you press down slightly to make the dot. Your tool shouldn't actually touch the rock.
