Thanks! Even thought I’ve been dotting for a while and use DecoArt paint, this is great information. Can’t wait to get home from our cruise and start dotting again.
You are right about finding the right one for yourself:) DecoArt is impossible to make mini dots close to each other, and is way too flat for me. The second would be the perfect when it comes to consistency, mini dots won’t run into each other and big dots will have a beautiful shape without multiple layers.
Hi there! I want to buy the recommened medium for thinning acrylic paint but am confused about which Liquitex medium to buy. I see you use Liquitex Matte fluid matte but on the bottle it says it makes the paint more transparent and I prefer not to lighten the colour. I’m wondering if you can clarify this for me. Thank you SO MUCH!
It doesn’t make my paint more transparent unless I really use a lot of it. The amount used in the video doesn’t change the color of the paint much. Give it a try!
As a beginner I think you should experiment! Try it out and see how it goes. When I first started I used water to thin my paint. But as I began selling my artwork I upgraded to quality medium to ensure the longevity of my work!
Do you struggle with paint consistency? Did you find this video helpful? Let me know!👇

Useful information but as beginners can we add water to thin and wait for some time to become thick
