    I just changed mine out today. What a big difference. Thanks for this vid. Who ever welded that control arm in your video should go back to school lol . I need to change out the wishbone control arm in the rear. There is so much chattering in the rear when going over street cracks or bumps. So far changing out the front lower CA makes a big difference

    Good job, you made this look easy, I have 04 limited and changed the tierods and went to get an alignment, the mechanic told me that I needed new bushings, so will be doing this soon.

      Hello, My 2004 4x4 is misaligned and they said they couldn't do it and I had to take it elswhere ( Is that normal?) I'm a long time customer and they do other work for me but I thought that was strange. This video has helped me with the control arm issue...Those will be replaced but are tie rods necessary to replace before alignment is done also?

    My 2004 4x4 (same color as yours) has been having heavy knocking sounds on the driver side when I go over potholes, speed bumps, rough terrains. I replaced shocks and CV joints. It's time to replace the control arms...or at least the bushings? I don't do it myself. I have a good local mechanic. I appreciate vids like these that educate me. Thanks!

    I have a 2000 limited with virtually no rust but my steering box needs to be replaced a few other odds and ends but it’s in great shape otherwise. It has the 4.7 and has 234,000 on the clock but it is a very strong engine. Do the Seafoam upper engine treatment and it will put you back in your seat as mine does.

    Your link to amazon for buying lower control arm is for REAR, not FRONT control arm.

    Thanks man, really helpful. I bought a WJ recently and the steering is wobbly and doesn't like going straight, you think lower control arms could be the problem?

    • @randomtallguyvlogs6756
      @randomtallguyvlogs6756  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It could be the lower control arms and or the upper ones as well. The only way to tell is to look at the bushings and see if it’s swollen or cracked

    would keep one of the front tires on the ground prevent the axle from moving

    • @randomtallguyvlogs6756
      @randomtallguyvlogs6756  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The angle in which the axle would be in can cause the axle to move a little when you remove a control arm

    Hey thanks for the video, instead of jacking my jeep up on the stands, could i just drop the car onto the tires and tighten everything up from there?

    • @randomtallguyvlogs6756
      @randomtallguyvlogs6756  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes as long as the weight of the vehicle is resting on the suspension one way or another, you should be good to tighten it down

    I have a question I have a 2003 jeep grand Cherokee Laredo it bounces all over the place in a bad lower control arm cause that

    • @randomtallguyvlogs6756
      @randomtallguyvlogs6756  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I think you would get more of a shaking issue vs a bouncing issue. I’ll recommend checking the springs and shocks first

    i have to do that job. i have a 04 overland same color...lol. so did you notice a huge improvement afterward?

    • @randomtallguyvlogs6756
      @randomtallguyvlogs6756  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Awesome the overland package is rare. Yea definitely, but if there’s still some speed wobbles happening it could be the upper control arms or the track bar.

    I did this tonight.but I'm a dumbass and put one with curve facing out..guess I know why it felt like rubbing when I pulled out of driveway sharply and right back in....

    • @randomtallguyvlogs6756
      @randomtallguyvlogs6756  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yea I was so close to messing it up myself luckily I used the other side as a reference. Look at the bright side the bolts should come out faster now lol

    • @mgoodell76
      @mgoodell76 ปีที่แล้ว

      True that! I just hope axle doesn't move. Don't wanna hook up to winch again to align bolts. This was a big job for me. Put in 4 ball joints, 4 tie rod ends,wheel bearings, track bar bushings, lower control arms and stiffener shock! First time doing any of these to a vehicle. I had the dreaded death wobble so decided to replace it all! Hoping it drives well tonight after I fix my mess up!
