  • I made this video to help out anyone going through this annoying repair,
    it took me about two days to get it done on the floor. Make sure you have the world's longest breaker bar for this.
    Do your own research when it comes to the torque specs since it differs through the years.
    Every new part I install came from Rock Auto:

    Great work. It's always good to see what someone is getting into when they decide to repair and maintain their vehicles.

    What an awesome job explaining each part and the torque specs.
    I think you could make a living as a diy auto repair instructor.
    Looking forward to your next video.

    A tip for the tie rods, instead of counting turns you can just measure the distance from the tie rod boot and you shouldnt need to touch it again when getting an alignment.

    This video definitely is gonna help for reference. Just got my suspension in for my '08 Commander and was hoping someone on here had how to do the whole shebang, including the struts and control arms. Great vid! 👍

      @@randomtallguyvlogs6756... you did. Only thing I'm changing out that you didn't are the sway bar bushings but I'm not doing the differential mount ones. I was told to spray all my parts I'm taking off with PB Blaster as well a few days before so they'll break free easier. What brand parts did you use (struts, control arms, etc)?

      @@FrankieKanks I got my parts from rock auto the brand I got was SKP, it’s kinda on the cheaper side but I never had any issues so far 🤷‍♂️

    Would you happen to have the part number for the lower bolt?

    How long total time did it take you to do everything? What would it cost to have the job done just for labor?

    some interesting socket/wrench sizes involved, sounds easier just to cut through the bolts, but they're all grade 8, right?
    36mm 6point socket for the axle nut
    24mm

    Subscribed! One of the best step by step DIY videos I've ever seen! Nice!! So what year Commander is the one in this video? Hopefully it's an 06 so that I don't have to search for the correct torque specs for my year. Thanks again!!

      @randomtallguyvlogs6756  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey, thanks for the feedback 🔥 the commander I was working on was a 2008, I believe 2006-2008 share the same torque spec but I recommend double checking. I got the torque specs from the Haynes repair manual

    Thank you!

    • @randomtallguyvlogs6756
      @randomtallguyvlogs6756  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, it was a cheap one from Amazon, I used it for ball joints, bushing, and u joints. So far so good

    QUESTION. Did you have easy access to remove the oil pan with all that removed? I want to do front suspension like you did as well as replace the gasket on my oil pan. Thanks!

      @randomtallguyvlogs6756  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, definitely if you’re gonna remove the front differential like I did, that would definitely create a lot of space for you to remove the oil pan.
