Thanks. Your video helps a lot. Wish we have someone we know that can teach us in person. My kids wanted to try fishing and both my husband and I know nothing about it. Last time we went we didn't know what to do but hope for luck and of course got nothing. Now watching your videos with my kids to learn more before we go again next time.

Im from Australia, and fish mainly rivers for our native fish. I love your vedios because its cool to see how people in America target fish and the similarities and differences between targeting methods. My favourite method is catching fish on surface lures, especially Murray Cod ( native river fish) 😏👍

Thank you for that statement at the end. It infuriates me when I see people keeping every single thing they bring up out of the ocean. They'll say "I don't eat them, I'll probably just give it to friends/family/etc" and you know damn well they're just going to freeze it until it's no good anymore. I get people asking me all the time "you're not keeping it?!" when I catch a small bass or something. Wtf am I gonna do with one tiny fish?

go to the penn website and look at the battle 2 5000 combo, great rod and reel. I would look into throwing gotcha plugs or golden or sliver spoons, With the 5000 you want to spool it with at least 30 pound braid. all the lures and line can be found either online or in your local bait and tackle shop, you will also want to learn some knots such as the fg the fishermans knot or the Palomar knot. have fun

Just some point of emphasis. Start making the rig by working on the tail end (where the hook is setup here) and don't cut the line from the spool. That way if you make a mistake, you can just keep pulling line off the spool and keep the length of line required for your rig. If you cut it first, then mess up, well....... you know :-)
Just my two cents - I've made hi-lo rigs cutting the line first, and ended up not having the length I've needed due to mess ups here and there. If I start with the dropper loop, and pull off line as I go, I've had better success

So with the Sabiki rigs do I have to add like small pieces of shrimp to it? Or just drop it? Can I do this? Come to the shallow side of the pier, use the sabiki rigs and catch small bait fish. Then go to the end of the pier rig up the bait fish and cast it. Can I do that?

1/4 oz is awesome! ! I go for lake walleye at 10 ft and I have caught so many more fish this summer than last summer. Last summer I used 1/2 oz heads. But with the lighter 1/4 oz I can feel every thing that goes on down there

Ok I have a curious question what 1/4 oz hook should I use 1/O,2/O,3/O,or 4/O hook or what for the jig head?
