VERY GOOD VIDEO ! To select big carp (over 20 pounds), if you don't have boilies, there is no need to use a different bait, you just need the corn to be baited to be much harder than the sweet corn for bait. Soak agricultural corn for only 24 hours and do not cook it. A big carp has much more power in its pharyngeal teeth than a small one, and its lips are so sensitive that it allows it to make an initial selection of what it can ingest or not. Bait generously as in the video BUT do not place your hard corn on the baiting mat, place it 1 or 2 meters outside, big carp are very wary, they will be more easily tempted by an isolated bait. After which you have to be patient...😉
They obviously comunicate with each other , 2 arrived at first ,tasted it ,swam off and 4 came back, then more arrived , so im seeing how sensitive these fish are and if you can read body language looks like the leader swam across in front of the Orange Ball to tell them to leave it alone. Excellent video, more interesting than British TV. 😂😂

I caught my first Big Carp using corn this last week. Chumm'd the waters with sweet corn and creamed corn. Made myself a carp rig with a small hook tied to a pool noodle I cut into a ball. Than with a small leader tied that to the hook so it floats upside down. Put a couple corns on the hook and boom 15-20 pounder took it. I lost a bigger one last night. It works people. But you can't spook em and gotta wait for them to take off with the hook.
Good video. But why not scatter the corn freebies and then use a hook bait with corn or fake single pop up corn as a hook bait. U can see the fish are wary of the orange ball. So if you do use corn and/or chum with it, you need to go easy. Fish can actually get digestive blocks from this. It was effective though, but took A LOT of time to actually get a bite.
I don't care about the fish getting constipated. If it works, it won't have time to worry before I'm shoving an ice pick through its brain and snipping the main artery.

Yes, it expands in the carp's gut and they simply die. Soak it for 24 hours, then cook it until it splits, and add a little salt. Very good bait for big fish.
A VERY old wives tale!! Corn does NOT expand in the stomach and kill fish ... it has long been passed through the digestive system before that could possibly happen! Boil corn for 24 hours and it expands virtually zero - just becomes softer - so how long would take to expand by ANY degree in the cold waters ...? YEARS!!
Thank you for watching and commenting. Because the bait is too clustered, it feels like the fish are reluctant to approach it. I'll be more careful next time.
@@extremefishcrossing was interesting to see their response to a heavy baiting. Going back quite a few years, a small group of us used to test new baits in an out of bounds shallowish bay, a few carp used to pretty much go straight in and start feeding, but most of the carp, mainly commons strangely, would just swim around the outside of the baiting area and just pick up one or two baits then swim off and then come back and do it again
@@clivelogsdon1492 In this video, similar things are happening. I've been filming for about a week, but the carp don't seem to come near the bait easily.
You should really try RANGE CUBES (Cattle Feed) they break down in a short time like 45 minutes. Carp LOVE these large cigar sized pellets and after they have broken down they make a cloud of nutritious particles flowing over thier senses with great results in feed stimulation. Then fishing over the broken down Range Cubes with Maize or boilies , and tiger nuts is deadly. :)
Thank you for watching and commenting. I'm glad you liked it. Since carp are smart, it's easy to catch them the first time, but it's difficult from the second time on! Let's both keep trying and catch more fish!
Thank you for watching and commenting. That definitely sounds like it would work! It seems like it might be difficult to use if the bread dissolves in the water after being submerged for a long time.
You can see how cautious they are, gentle picking up the bait, seemly to hold it then ejecting. Probably waiting to see if they get hooked, big beds of bait seem to be a warning, they eye it up and skirt around the edges, I am sure they do pick up the bait many times and eject it without the angler ever seeing any indication.
Thank you for watching and commenting. Yes, that's right. The carps are quite cautious and don't approach easily. It seemed like they knew which baits were dangerous.
Your supposed to broadcast it in a line, further from shore……baiting it at the ends…..it’s much better to add sugar and water, let it bake in the sun to start the ferment process…..
So this is one reason that I squirt some attractant in a can of corn and use it as hook bait but around where I live im the only one that fishes for carp so they are not used to a whole bunch of bait

Thank you for watching and for your comment! Some days are just like that. I went fishing both yesterday and today, but I didn’t catch anything either. It felt like there weren’t any fish around at all, but when I reviewed the underwater footage, I was surprised. The fish were actually biting multiple times, but I just couldn’t get the hook to set, maybe my rig wasn’t quite right. Let’s keep enjoying fishing together!
I don't pretend to know all about fish and corn but some fish (trout) will eat it thinking its eggs. The problem is they are not equipped to digest corn so their guts clog and they die. Some places corn is illegal . Check with your Game and Fish dept for whatever is true.
@@casual_flexDepends where you live. In our regulations it specifically says Chumming is illegal. Probably fine to do with carp and other fish but we only have trout where I live.
Thank you for watching and commenting. I see. Thank you for your valuable input. Is it the raw corn that is the problem? What if it is boiled and softened?
Fish can't digest corn any better than we can. But they have much tinier sphincters. So yes corn can absolutely bind fish up to a lethal effect. 30 lb carp may pass corn but how about small fish that gorge themselves? Never chum with corn!
Ive had the most success in matching the bait. Corn has really been a hit for me, but i just slap that directly onto the hook. Some people use a hairline
I dont like or think boilies are a great bait you would be better off throwing a worm or a piece of corn on a hair rig in the center of the chum pile. I fish for carp alot and canned corn is my go to bait. Worms and corn.
Thank you for your input and comment. I haven't tried using worms yet, but I'll consider giving them a try someday. Don't you find that using only corn takes too long for the carp to gather?
@@extremefishcrossing no, what I have found is carp like to feed in certain areas for some odd reason. If you move 10 feet left or right of that spot they don't feed, i fish the same spots because of this. Once I find a spot they eat I keep going to that spot. You will notice areas were they congregate. I also take the water from the can of corn keeping the lid on and dump all the juice in the water spreading out in the current before I start to chum. My buddy can attest to the spot fishing I told him to try it one day and move down away from a spot I found sure enough I caught 6 in 30 minutes he caught zero. As soon as he moved back he started catching them. They like slack water silty bottom, in the canals for some reason its always under a overhanging tree with no veg growth in the water
@@extremefishcrossing canned sweet corn del monte I think it's called. More expensive but the kernels are firmer and stay on he hook. I cover the entire hook with corn. I don't normally use a hair rig at all. But have used them with success its just not needed.
@@covidisevent201 It's fascinating to search for where carp feed. Once you catch a few in the same spot, they become wary, making it difficult to catch them with the same bait. That's why I change bait every time. Fishing with just corn for years is amazing!
@@extremefishcrossing yup, years in the same spots. Consistently in the same spots. My buddy thinks they forget or they don't associate the food with the hook. One fish I've caught multiple times over years. Easy to recognize it has one eye. Or they just aren't that smart. I gotta do some videos. By the way loved your video was awesome to see them feed. One of my favorite freshwater fish to go for. Definitely try the worms in the chum pile, better then boilies I'm not a fan of them.
Thank you for watching and commenting. I heard that carp have poor eyesight, so I thought it would be okay if the hook stood out a little, but it didn't work. The carp noticed where the hooks were.
Thank you for watching and commenting. As others have mentioned, it seems that way. Please make sure to check if chumming is allowed and whether it’s legal in your area before enjoying your fishing!
So here are a few things to consider just for those who may not be aware. 1) As mentioned never use dried corn, nuts, tiger nuts or the like as these once ingested can swell in the stomach and cause intestinal damage and death. 2) Diversify your bottom bait in size and color. Otherwise as you see the carp will go for what seems to be the dominant food source while avoiding anything “out of the ordinary” like the one boillie. 3) Carp can have a memory span of several months to years and remember what they were hooked on or what is out of the ordinary. I have seen them follow bait boats, clean out all of the dropped bait leaving only the one main line hooked bait on the bottom simply due to the presentation being wrong. 4) A diversified size range of smaller to large particles makes the carp see the entire spread as more natural this includes size as well as coloration, this way my main line hook bait mixes in with the surrounding bait spread . SO I will normally take some of my boillies “Same color as main boillie”, break them up to different sizes, mix it with boiled corn, boiled tigernut, Boiled Hemp seeds, bread crumbs and such. By doing this it makes the fish root around in the bottom and they become less cautious as they start competing with each other for the food raising your chances of them taking your hooked bait. 5) Of course these are just the most basics for carp. Being originally form the USA I was always taught that carp were a trash fish to be used for compost or garden food. When I got to Europe and saw all of the interest in Carp, Tench and such I rethought my life lessons on these fish and found them harder fighting than most predatory fish, a LOT more intelligent making them a vast challenge as each fish unlike Crappie or Bass, can react totally different even it one thing is off. That was almost 27 years ago and the interest in Carp and relative species is still growing. Petri Heil all…
Thank you for watching and commenting. I especially understand your third point. In the river where I always go carp fishing, the carp become very cautious when they see the underwater camera, making it much more difficult to catch them. Your other points are also really helpful and I have learned a lot from them! Thank you so much!

Instead, boiled corn that is soft or boxed corn such as bonduelle is ok, the carp digests it quite quickly, and his appetite is on for next day 😁
What does the coloured ball do? Why is there a boom boom boom heart action while they are thinking whether to eat that orange/blue ball?
Thank you for watching and commenting.
The colored ball is bait! I think they are excited because they want to eat it.
Yes, it expands in the carp's gut and they simply die. Soak it for 24 hours, then cook it until it splits, and add a little salt. Very good bait for big fish.
Thank you for watching and commenting.
It's the first time I've heard of adding salt! I'll give it a try if I get the chance!
YEARS!!
Wow, they were cautious. That's why I spread the bait more and still fish just off it
Thank you for watching and commenting.
Didn't actually finish my reply lol. ....ever since then I've fished on the outside of a baited area, it works.
@@clivelogsdon1492 In this video, similar things are happening. I've been filming for about a week, but the carp don't seem to come near the bait easily.
@@extremefishcrossing I'll check that tomorrow, cheers
You should really try RANGE CUBES (Cattle Feed) they break down in a short time like 45 minutes. Carp LOVE these large cigar sized pellets and after they have broken down they make a cloud of nutritious particles flowing over thier senses with great results in feed stimulation. Then fishing over the broken down Range Cubes with Maize or boilies , and tiger nuts is deadly. :)

I'd love to try RANGE CUBES if I can get my hands on them!

Such a cool video! Good to see how our target fish react to a bed of corn.

I'm glad you enjoyed the video.
Gr w at video, I think carp are very smart fish. I use the hair hook, and I have a hard time catching them they just sit there a look at it
Thank you for watching and commenting.
I'm glad you liked it.
Since carp are smart, it's easy to catch them the first time, but it's difficult from the second time on!
Let's both keep trying and catch more fish!
Good excellent 👍
Thank you for watching and commenting.😄
This is noo good!- Why give the fish a lot of carbohydrates? Do you think the fish i used to that?
Thank you for watching and commenting.
Could you please explain why carbohydrates are not good?
I'll take it into account for the next video.
In colder months fish don’t eat as much and prefer carby foods to protein foods. Nothing wrong with giving them the carbs
@@ash-13579 Thank you for watching and commenting.
Carbohydrates are okay, then.
That's good to know.
Because it’s fine and you should think before you speak.

Used to use bread squeezed into a ball and then doused in vanilla extract for carp and catfish. They could never resist the stuff.
Thank you for watching and commenting.
That definitely sounds like it would work!
It seems like it might be difficult to use if the bread dissolves in the water after being submerged for a long time.

There are occasional anglers here.
Rad video.
They did a great job of eating all the corn around your bait
Thank you for watching and commenting!
The fish were quick to eat the bait around the hook, but they wouldn’t bite the one on it.
I used to use corn for planted trout, but read that it blocks their intestines. I guess for the larger carp it wouldn't be an issue.
Thank you for watching and commenting.
I'm relieved to hear that!
I've heard the same thing, I think some states have banned the use of corn because of that.
Hey guys, I told Carl not to eat the orange one because it would change his life.

Супер видео,а я то думал почему нет поклевок!👍
Спасибо за просмотр и комментарий!
Thank you for watching and commenting.
That’s the first time I’ve heard of that method!
Thank you for sharing!
Unbelievable! I would have bet they take the outstanding corn as soon as possible.
Thank you for watching and commenting.
So this is one reason that I squirt some attractant in a can of corn and use it as hook bait but around where I live im the only one that fishes for carp so they are not used to a whole bunch of bait
Thank you for watching and commenting.
It's better to have fewer people fishing for carp around because then there are more carp to catch.
That was 😎

Yeah I spent the entire day casting.. nothing not a single fish. But to me it's about the time out there 😊 enjoying nature. Tomorrow I'll buy a reel Shimano two speed something like that 😂 I don't even know what it is all I know it's in perfect shape almost new and cheap and yet on eBay it's expensive, I'll get it for $80.

I had a fisheries biologist once tell me that feeding corn to fish actually kills them. He said they can’t digest it
Thank you for watching and commenting.
I see.
Thank you for your valuable input.
Is it the raw corn that is the problem?
What if it is boiled and softened?
It doesn't that's a myth. It passes straight through them
Fish can't digest corn any better than we can. But they have much tinier sphincters. So yes corn can absolutely bind fish up to a lethal effect. 30 lb carp may pass corn but how about small fish that gorge themselves? Never chum with corn!
Gotta thread the corn on!..did it as a kid for easy carp.cheapest bait around ..a can of whole kernel corn..
Thank you for watching and commenting.
Next time I use corn, I'll thread it onto the line!

They knew once they tapped that orange thing its a wrap 😆
Thank you for watching and commenting.
Yes, that's right.
The carps were clever, so they noticed.😄
Ive had the most success in matching the bait. Corn has really been a hit for me, but i just slap that directly onto the hook. Some people use a hairline
Thank you for watching and commenting.
Never seen someone carpet bomb a swim with ground-bait like that. 🤣☝🏻

I would put corn on the hook to blend in with the rest.

Sorry I read my message back it was rude. That's a lot of sweetcorn but I don't course fish. I wouldn't no great stuff though 👌👍
