- Look at Good Smile Company making all these new year new me changes...the moment I get into Nendoroids no less (I'm not actually getting into Nendos, okay?). Last time it was the box, let's see what they're doing this time with the stand and base and whether it's something good.
...did you like the pun?

Figure news update video gsc nendoroid
#anime #figure #waifu #bishoujo #animefigure #actionfigure #toyreview #figurecollection #goodsmilecompany #animefigure2024 #nendoroid
Toy company should be the last to concern about plastic in their packaging. Food industry is the one need to reduce plastic in their product.
It's them trying to save money more than them being environmentally conscious. Hasbro tried this with their action figures and they ended up going back to old packaging shortly after once they saw their sales drop off by a lot. I can see the same happening for Goodsmile too.
Yeah, I'm sure there are better ways to save on plastic/and cost? Without completely changing such an iconic box design. Let's see what they do in future.
@@omegashenron8 Save money *and* pander to some incentives for "being environmentally conscious."
Looks good on paper for investors, doesn't always work out in practice.
They literally made a no return or refund policy now...

It's called Good Smile Company because they always smile while drying your bank acc.
I smile when drying my bank account to...😂🥹😭
Those 4chan servers and the SuperGT racing team aren't going to pay for themselves...
Waiting for Racing Miku 2024 🫠
😂 dang that is most likely true
...suddenly Meltryllis namedropping them in Extra CCC while shilling their products makes sense: they're both sadists.
Personally, I dont mind the changes, but I have other reason to dislike Goodsmile company: shit's too expensive, especially figmas. I remember when they used to cost about $30-40.
For real. Less accessories and triple the price...no thanks.
Last 2 Nendos I bought were reasonably priced compared to Tokyo Otaku Mode or comics shop Previews catalogs.
What's crazy is in a few places, old figmas that are not super rare can still be found for their initial retail price or close to it, 10~ years later! But they sell stuff with cheaper engineering (those horrible hololive elbow joints yuck), less accessories, and they don't even sell as well - you see them go on sale later. Doesn't add up!
@@Kohu And their shift to the godless Popup Parade line and their lack of articulation... because statues sell better.
Like, that's not fun: where's the articulation? Where's the playability?! It's just a chunk of immobile resin!
@@MrCat-zz5eo ok, I'll actually defend the pop-ups because they made a lot of statues of characters I wanted for a decent price, lol.
But yeah, they're only slightly nicer than your average banpresto prize figure.
Not very happy about the new packaging. I guess Goodsmile never learned from Hasbro when they went windowless. At least they don't sell Nendos in regular stores so I don't think we'll get people swapping figures on boxes.
All toy makers and marketers need to read the TFwiki's helpful articles on common toy practices of dubious ethicality. *Especially* toy swapping.
They'll still lose their in box collector base such as Hasbro lost their in box collector base cause of the windowless change too.
I feel there would be some differences between e.g. the US and Japanese market for things like toy swapping, displaying in box, etc. Perhaps Good Smile's mainly focusing on the local market and the cost-cutting outweighs the unhappy international customers. But I also have no idea lol
@@omegashenron8Did Hasbro switch back?
@@InfamyOrDeath-__- Yes they did within 2 years of them rolling it out.
As someone who collects a decent amount of nendoroid... The recent nendoroid packaging has also been reduced in quality. The plastic that holds the nendo is extremely soft compared to the older ones...
and now that they want to remove it completely and only put them in a small box like some pop marts? I think I'm going to stop pre-ordering them for a while
Yeah, the box changes concern me the most. Plus, it just doesn't look as good. If they actually want to reduce plastic waste like they said, they should've targeted the PUP line. Also, new figures from older series are now gonna look odd next to the other ones if you're a NIB collector. All cost saving measures to save a buck. I'll be curious if there's enough outrage and they go back since I know the Japanese don't like it either, but this is a Japanese company and they can be quite stubborn
Oh maybe I should check my figma and compare the older/newer trays. I've never had an old Nendo with box before.
Hope it doesn't end up being too bad. Still curious to see how the new box is when opened.
Pop Up Parade definitely uses more plastic. Maybe they wanted to target more expensive figures/Nendos as there's not really any direct competitor, so it's harder to swap even if you dislike the packaging, whereas with PUP, there may be similar prize/scale figures. I'm also just pulling stuff out of thin air with this lol
Not the bad frown company 😭
Such an apt name
Funny that Bandai too just announced that they will revise the price of all plastic model kits starting in April 2025 as well.
(HG will get around 200 - 300 yen increase. MG will get around 400-600 yen increase etc).
Is there a competition of "How fast can we divert our fans to those uprising China brands" among Jp brands? Like, bruh.
Oh wow, despite not being too much, that's still not a good thing to hear. So odd, sounds like they're kinda struggling.
@@NoGoodFigures The price is gonna roll harder when it goes out of Jp, considering the import price etc.
I get it, yen is kinda struggling yeah, but man, GSC? Bandai? Struggling? Kinda a stretch IMO.
In GSC case, "BUT... ITS FOR THE NATURE" yeah sure....
Companies love making excuses. But yeah, import prices and then store mark-ups can be a fair bit too. I'm lucky that I can grab them relatively close to retail, given the exchange rate and proximity.
For big companies, if they make less than previous years, they'll count it as a loss.
Bandai already has P-Bandai and should keep the prices the same. Now if that means Bandai SRW quality with included stands go on ahead.
Had to look that up (Super Robot Wars?), I just remembered I have a P-Bandai girl sitting around...💀
This is the second time they change the neck joints, really old nendos, like touhou sakuya, use older ones( think thiner) and didnt come with spares.
I see. Really hope they don't think “we made better neck joints, so we don't need spares now”.
I cant stop thinking about JoJo stands.

Ahh The Evil Smile Company as expected.

Can't even call them clown company bc real clowns doesn't drain your money
Smart clowns
now that's a bad smile company.
Big bad sad co
In America they'd localize that Stand name to 「Worse Frown Company」.
Yea it’s odd that they removed the centre hole, and I have 2 Nendo’s on one stand, but they’re the larger bases, not the regular size base.
I currently have no stands out and proud of it...ish, despite one girl lying down xD
@ I love ones where you don’t need the stand or base, my Momo & Nana from To Love-Ru come with legs that let them sit down, so I definitely chose that option.
And the ones who can sit get to sit lol
Me who keeps my nendoroids still in the box to preserve the price and prevent dust. 🙂↕️
also those old Nendo boxes will probably become hella rare and expensive now... 💀
Time to start buying them up 🫠
I just like the plastic tray for easy of storage. The new boxes look silly and messy.
I only accept miku scale figure there for this does not effect me -except my bank account-
Hahaha, fair enough.
Haha I’ve no idea how people only buy Miku figures, the most overly produced character in the business.
It's cool how there's a bunch of different ways that people can collect and that's also the fun of this hobby. Very rarely will two collections be the same.
I really enjoy this type of coverage of the different figure companies, including the last video. Please keep them coming! :D
A small tip for the Nendoroid bases: If you want to do a pose where you absolutely need the base, I recommend using a figma base instead (the platform only). The arms fit into those as well and they look much cleaner in my opinion. Alternatively, if you only use the arm as a support, it looks even better, when you unscrew the other parts which aren't needed. It's quite simple if you have a small screw driver.
Regarding the joint, the movement range will stay the same, you just have to additionally rotate the entire joint after bending it, just like Snail Shell wrists. So it can still move in all directions, it just requires more movements to get the same result. I'm kinda torn about that. They do break less easily, however they have two major disadvantages: They are much more of a pain to actually pose, because you always have to do multiple movements, to do a simple angle change and they pull apart much more easily, because the connection axis is now slightly angled towards the direction of the force exerted on it while pulling. I wonder if they will roll out a similar change for Figma in the future, especially since they have *much* smaller joint pieces than Nendoroids, so there would be more of a reason to use this type there. Although certain joints can not reasonably be replaced by these, like knees and elbows.
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed em. Just thought I'd try some new stuff between figures.
I feel the base could be simplified much more, but I guess it's also an aesthetic thing. The figma base is definitely a good tip, I'll keep it in mind, along with unscrewing the extra bits (not sure where my screwdrivers are though).
Completely agree for the neck, I meant to say "weird and annoying" articulation but accidentally skipped a word. I can just imagine posing the joint then realising it doesn't fit due to hair, clothing, etc, having to remove and reattach the head constantly just for a simple nod (maybe it's skill issue lol). For pulling apart easily, hope they make a good connection with a solid groove/indent.
They seem to already have new elbow joints for a lot of their new poofy figma sleeves. The weirdly cut ones Gura and Yuuka have.
I've grown to hate Bad Frown Industries like you couldn't believe.
I believe yet I still keep buying 😔
@@NoGoodFigures I can't afford to follow them and the other lines I collect. When base figma jumped to 80 dollars, I jumped ship.
I miss having funny schoolgirl antics on my desk.
Scarlet figma just dropped for $90 lol, but yeah, prices crazy.
You can still find some good deals preowned though.
While not exactly the L shaped stand you mentioned wanting, Good Smile did release something similar which I use for my Nendos. They are called easel stands and are sold in packs of 3. They do a great job keeping the figures standing while not looking ugly or taking up a ton of space. They did make them in 2 sizes though, small ones for regular Nendos and bigger ones for Nendoroid dolls. The bigger ones don't work well as is for Nendos, but you can remove the stand legs to get just a long straight peg that can work like this hypothetical L stand you proposed.
Yeah, I had no idea till someone mentioned xD but I'm not too invested in Nendos for now, and just using the stand arm is minimal enough for me. Thank you for the info though, didn't know there were two sizes.
Love the editing in this video!
Appreciate it!
Don't they sell easel style stands, too; or did they discontinue those?
I actually didn't know they existed till people told me 😅 but I think just the stand arm is still mostly fine
I can’t wait for the prices to increase more again while we get a worse presentation. As a big Transformers fan, I can only see this going well for GSC like it did for Hasbro.
There are some videos from others of the new Nendo box, and the inside actually looks so sad. And yeah, many people related it to the Hasbro situation
Yeah, I’ve seen some online. It’s truly pathetic honestly. Most Nendoroid collectors always keep tend to keep and reuse their boxes all of the time. These “new boxes” are pretty much made to be one and done now. I find it funny how they’re doing this now as Hasbro is going back to closed boxes with windows again. Irony at its finest honestly.
Yeah, my first thought was maybe the local (Japanese) market doesn't care as much, but then someone mentioned they hated it too
UV Light damage if sitting on secondary market outlet store shelves for a long time if not in the supply warehouse.
I've seen some super discoloured boxes lol
@@NoGoodFigures Theyve been sitting on shelves exposed to lighting. Its the same that happens to collectible csrds exposed in display cases for so long without any buyers. Its actually a smart move they did for longer preservation of products. Many wont know that though.
Yeah, I guess it takes a while for it to get really bad though
@@NoGoodFigures I still have a GSR Miku Racing figurine from 2020 never fully taken out of the box yet. As of 2024, all these years still in its box, I took a peak at it recently still looks amazingly brand new. No window.
I've got plenty of older figures, secondhand, etc. which look fine too. Maybe just Mika Jougasaki's box is a bit faded, but she's like 10+ years old 😅
after i bought my last little armory figma last year i put my foot down and just said no to almost everything made by GSC. the amount they charge you for a figure with questionable quality and the bare minimum accessories compared to third parties is ludicrous.
I wish I had your level of self-control. I like to say I'm being selective just getting Nikke or Blue Archive or something...but that's literally all that comes out anyway besides Hololive. At least they usually come some guns and stuff 🙃 but then again, so does Little Armoury.
@@NoGoodFigures Little Armory's great but man, the prices for me aren't that great at all. Always overcharged, and the quality's a bit fragile. Broke my Kalashnikov figure's cleaning rail by mistake while building it, and while it's not that visible, it is kinda sad.
Yeah, they look pretty cool, but pricey. I'll wait for whatever Nikke comes out...they have guns too. But also pricey lol.
And sorry to hear about the broken part :(
the new neck joint looks awesome! I might buy a few in the future
Glad you like em, most seem to be on the fence for now. I'm mostly indifferent and hoping for the best.
@@NoGoodFigures thats fair, the angle in general is wonky, but with my experience with figures, a joint like that is far more durable and reliable.
Yeah, sturdy at the expense of inconvenience. But it's fine, the slant as wrist joints isn't too bad. For neck, Nendos hardly move anyway.
Goodsmile is getting to expensive that the only thing i could afford is the old nendoroids and figmas they made
Yeah, they can get pricey. Preowned ones can sometimes be found for decent prices, though. I have a few myself.
What I don't like about good smile is the joints either fit to tight or so lose just looking at them wrong will fall apart
Hmm, I guess it's hit and miss, mostly tighter joints for me for figures I don't move often. I think figma/Nendos are pretty solid, they just fall over when I mess up the balance 😅
the new neck joint i can tell is gonna be annoying as hell dealing with slanted joints just makes posing a bit more time consuming if you want it to look right and not awkward with the angle its at could just be a me thing tho
Agree. Definitely not just you. Nendo necks are pretty limited as is. Not looking forward to the change.
As someone who prefers to keep his nendoroids inside the boxes most of the time the new packaging actually irks me quite a lot.
The new base is fine but I do also think that it needs a hole in the center.
Also honestly fuck GSC and the way they are handling nendoroids like the new one of Akane from the Gridman movie had one face that was a preorder bonus simply because they couldn't bother to add another small plastic tray so that they could include both her crown and a second extra face, and she still costed like a normal nendoroid that does have all those accessories.
Yeah, some of the recent figures really don't come with a lot yet the price is still pretty high. A little unfortunate but sometimes the characters/designs are still really nice :(
Yeah, they also started making nendos of a LOT of stuff, from old anime that aren't receiving that much merch nowadays to even indie games and animation, so it kinda sucks that you can finally own merch from stuff like that BUT they may not come with as much stuff as they should for the price GSC is asking.
For real, a lot of the time I see stuff coming out and I'm like...what in the world is that? But then again I'm not too well-versed with anime/game stuff...which is strange I guess lol. Oh well.
Im planning to buy their Tears of the Kingdom Link figure once it releases
Oh nice, I've got no clue what's what regarding Zelda these days, but he looks cool. The figma right?
@NoGoodFigures Yeah, the DX edition is VERY expensive.
I saw. It's a lot of stuff, though!
U tell me to save the earth when the model is already made by plastic?hell no bruh
Gotta save money somewhere
There's one thing that has 8 points of contact with the ground and requires no stand....I'll let you guess what that is
Is it a fruit lol
I've got a bunch of Nendos and (aside from wishing the new stand had a 9th hole in the center of the plate) I think the new stand is an improvement. Whenever I've changed how I display most of the ones I have out I've always been annoyed with how obtrusive and hard to hide the stand bases are. I've also had plenty of nendos in odd poses or with awkwardly placed back holes that have been a big pain to deal with, and the increased range of motion and tweaked shape of the peg also seem good.
Also I'm pretty sure the new neck joint won't have a big impact on the actual range of motion, but it will make moving the head a bit less intuitive since certain basic motions (such as moving the head down to nod or look down) is also gonna require rotating the joking a bit. I don't really move my nendos heads outside of looking to one side or the other tho so it prob won't matter to me. If anything I'm more concerned about whether the new neck joint will be prone to coming apart when removing the head from the body. I've had that issue on model kits with that style of wrist joint and it's super annoying.
Good to hear some insight from someone with a larger collection! How often do you usually repose/reposition them?
I can imagine the neck being annoying to move. Sometimes the neck peg in the head is pretty tight, especially on my two Nikke girls, so having to finesse the neck would be a huge hassle. Luckily they're cute just standing there.
And I definitely know what you mean with the wrist joints.
@@NoGoodFigures Depends on the Nendoroid but most of mine are pretty static and I don't repose them very often. I'll fiddle with them till I find a pose I like when I get them and beyond that most of them stay on a shelf. Usually I'll have one or two at my desk that I'll repose more frequently (though I don't have any on it atm), and sometimes if I get a specific idea I'll grab a couple specific ones to pose up and photograph.
Now that I think about it I'm not sure how significant or noticeable the new joint will be when moving nendo heads anyways. The necks on most don't usually get much of a range of motion (ofc depending on hair and body sculpt, and even less if they have long hair and the stand is in) and most of the "look up/down" posing I do with my nendos is just to make room for the stand behind them.
Neckjoints being stiff has been a bit of a crapshoot for me previously. I've never had one break, but I have had a couple that got stuck in a hole and became impossible to remove from the baseplate of the head or from the top of the torso. Being stuck in the torso isn't usually an issue but being stuck in the head can be.
Similarly, I rotate stuff from the cabinet to my desk too. Currently I've got three Nendos on my desk. I've never tried to remove a neck joint from the Nendo heads before...haven't had the need to thankfully, but they do feel super stiff. Maybe a bit of heat would help. And yeah, it's mostly nods for head movement. Definitely experienced the hair/body getting in the way of the stands too, so the smaller stands would hopefully help that.
I like stand because i can put my figures in more dynamic poses- and it helps with nendroids and their head to body ratio. Depending on figure standing tham can be nightmare, for example mordred if you put her helmet on
Yeah, same with some figma. Most the girls have heels so they're pretty hard to balance. I'm still stubborn though xD
I wish GSC started packaging the nendoroid mini stands with newer releases
Like a round stand?
@NoGoodFigures sorry I got the names mixed up, they should start packaging the easel stand with new releases, the sorta bicycle kickstand thing they sell on their website
Ahh yeah, someone mentioned. Those look pretty cool. But if they were included, how would GSC make more money with extra option packs :v
you what i cant stand ? they still use metal or plastic pegs to connect figure to the base, instead of some magnet.
Would magnets be better or worse? I feel if there was room for a magnet, the feet would probably be large enough to balance anyway
@@NoGoodFigures I think there are cases where people deliberately not buy magnets because the figure as a whole might just end up confiscated by customs. Like I think some people do ask the retailer if can throw away the magnet that comes with the figure
Oh yeah, never thought about that. Should keep that in mind just in case.
I actually like the new packaging. I usually have to keep them because they were so nice and it would be a waste to throw away. But now i can just throw without any concern. (Tho i never bought any nendroid.)
That's fair. Still useful to have for storage, etc. just in case though I feel (I can't see my boxes, but I still keep them)
Remember,An Anime girl is only a Waifu when she's loved by Us and Not the Character...except "Self insert MC" like Shikikan or gacha MC
Never thought of it that way, that's interesting, actually
@NoGoodFigures I mean it is always has been that way my brother. Sensei or Commander or even Aether from Genshin are typically Us in the realm of Fiction Universe in different forms since Self insert characters are basically our Shells. I suggest you should get Figma Ritsuka Fujimaru 😅to represent yourself since I do that.
@NoGoodFigures the games you play are basically our Waifus talking to Us in terms of POV. It's clearly obvious at this point 😅.
I mean, even when there's a love interest / they're coupled with the MC people can still self-insert xD
I've thought of getting a male figure as a representation, but haven't really looked into any / none have caught my eye so far haha
@NoGoodFigures not all Main Characters are Us my Friend, for example Naruto or Luffy or even Goku, these are known as Independent characters,MC,so you can't simply self insert into anyone and pretend to be Them at all,it just ruins of who they are, a Self insert is only the character that's represented to be Us or a Random person without any Backstory or any parents to represent,😅... there's Alot of understanding to do before you think about self inserts, like Stark for intense is Not Us or Kazuma, he's also Not Us,but Gacha main Characters are the originally designed self insert characters
what games that in bg?
It's from Nikke 😊
You have a nice voice, I think it is an Australian accent?
Thanks! Correct haha
...the new joint design is a major turn-off in my opinion. Others have pointed out that yes, it isn't as intuitive in motion as the original straight-on joint.
I can attest to this through two samples: the Hasuki Fiona I have on my desk now from a recent shipment and my experience with 30 Minutes Sisters and Fantasy Model kits.
...I don't like it. The joint doesn't feel right when turning them around to pose the hands. *I even doubt the claims that they make them sturdier at all.*
When I was playtesting them on Fiona, I had a horrifying few seconds when they swung all the way around such that the two ending pegs formed a "v", and I felt that if I tried cracking them back to their starting point, I'd break the joint immediately. (Thank god I didn't ham-hand it, instead softly switching it around slowly and steadly.)
Furthermore, I've heard of horror stories of Snail Shell Eileen figures having their make of wrist joints snap on them mid-play. Most responses to them are usually "quit ham-handing it", but I find that when multiple users bring it up as a major defect, and I find a very real, very possible cause from personal experience, there is only one stance that's clear to me:
*I reject these slanted joints altogether. They are NOT the future of figure joints, and they are NOT guaranteed to make these joints sturdier, and are MORE LIKELY to make them break during playtime.*
Good Smile, if you're reading this, *don't* make this change on figma joints. And Snail Shell: *for the love of god, switch to straight-on joints.*
Oh yeah, I've actually had that happen to either Fiona or Aileen (probably Aileen). It was a bit of a hassle to swing it back around. That said, I pretty much wrestled with Aileen's wrists through the review and they're still in one piece so mine aren't brittle. They are still super hard to pull off though.
I'm sure they did a bunch of R&D on the joint before switching (hopefully), so it would've been nice if they gave a reason more than "It's sturdier".
Regardless, I prefer regular joints for easier articulation.
@@NoGoodFigures Agreed. If I find a good seller I'm buying figma joint spares and testing if they fit in Fiona. I don't like the easily ham-handable slanted joints.
Frankly, they suck.
...on a completely different tangent, I've tried posing Fiona's legs so she can cross one leg on her lap while on break and, well, her hip assembly doesn't permit that.
So I gotta ask: is she compatible with the Romankey x Cowl body? I might just save up for one so I can swap parts around so she's more dynamic at work.
I could probably test the figma joints for you. I assume they'd fit or even if not, it wouldn't be a hard mod.
Yeah, I guess she can't sit properly. The Romankey x Cowl girl looks like she'd be able to sit, but compatibility is another thing. If I happen upon her for a decent price, I'll grab her as I am curious, but she's not a priority.
@@NoGoodFigures Thanks! And considering every time I run across a potentially-bootleg Romankey body in the wild, the sellers always supercharge, I'd rather not take chances with my own money just yet.
Also, I just really love Fiona's figure overall!
So I tried and figma joints fit fine on Fiona even without alterations. You can get them in just by being firm and careful. Mine was a bit tight though, so depending on yours, heating it up a bit first or sanding it down would be a good idea to avoid breakage, especially if you swap hands often.
For the legs, since Fiona is mainly covered up I don't think it would be hard to make any type of leg fit to be honest, as long as it's the appropriate length.
I also have no experience with modding/custom stuff so take this with a grain of salt. Hope it helps!
Also yeah, Fiona's great. Hoping Friede is just as good.
Not a nendroid, but Anime Heros Brook requires a stand for two reasons. 1) He has no cane. 2) He's top heavy with long legs without a stand. Thank God SH Figuearts "Captain" Kid came with one.
Yeah, some figures definitely require stands... _Looking at my prone NH-01_ I still like to avoid them where possible though

I very much despise Apple products lol
@NoGoodFigures figma heading to premium but less innovative 😂😂. next stop stand sold separately.
Base figure with stand arm. Accessories and base sold separately 💀
Hm. Yes, yes, naruhodo.
Is probably what I might say if I knew anything about nendos.
🤣
I guess the slanted joints are quite strong as I had to wrestle with Aileen a bit when reviewing her, and she's still fine.
You're issue is you're buying girl figures. Their moderoid stuff especially their Patlabor line is pretty nice.
They look nice but not really for me. I don't usually have an issue with the girls standing by themselves anyway.
I used to buy Brand New Figmas before. Until they Fuckey Wuckey the price. Not including a gamble if a Figma would still be afforable. Or Scalpers will sky rocketed the price that cost more than a Console System.
Last time I bought it Brand new and cost over 60$ was Mako from Kill La Kill. After that and knowing Pop Up parades are slowly replacing Figmas. It's not worth spending over 60$ for these guys. Unless they're like, under 50$ or the after market (if your lucky.) Around 10-40$
Nendoroids, I only buy them if GSC didn't bothered to make a Figma version of a Character I like or it's more affordable than the Figma figure itself.
After that, I just buy figmas in a secondhand market when they're reasonably cheap or Sealed that cost around 30 (I bought KeKe Tang for like, 36$ on amazon.)
I don't want to think about the price of my recent figma...or future ones. I'll stick with articulated stuff for now though (besides maybe some Nikke, but let's see). Some secondhand ones are an absolute steal. Just need to keep your eye out!
I’m trying to stop buying Nendo’s, I don’t even know why I keep buying them because they annoy me so much. Instead of making all these changes they need to make them all with joints in the arms & legs like the My Hero Academia Nendo’s, they’re so much better, better for poses & they won’t fall to pieces every damn time I have to dust them.
I only buy Nendo’s to put beside their manga, I don’t waste display case space that I need for scales on Nendo’s, I have over 50 of them at this stage, so dusting them once a week is a total pain, I hate doing it because every time some of them fall to pieces, especially the ones I have in flying & action poses, and I have to spend a few minutes putting them back together.
I guess if they made the effort to do actual joints, they'd rather put that into something else like statues or figures. I get it though, more articulation would be nice.
That's a lot of Nendos and I can imagine cleaning them all once a week. I only have around 30 figures and only dust them...when they need to be on camera (sometimes I forget too lol).
I've just started getting into Nendos due to the Nikke ones...but hope I don't go too far into the rabbit hole.
@ Yea Nendo’s I barely treat as figures, I’m completely focused on scales. But I don’t understand why they don’t make more Nendo’s with joints, the 3 My Hero Academia Nendo’s I have all have joints in the arms & legs, and I know there’s at least one other one that I have with joints, I think it’s one of the Fate ones.
They’re sooooo much better, and sometimes I’ve got Nendo’s with multiple different legs and arms, this is all extra plastic, they cut cut down on the amount they use by using joints.
I know the ones you mean. There's just random select ones they decide to give full joints. I guess it's usually figures who are shown with dynamic poses, etc. in their source material.
Neither. Bandai nor Goodsmile company will ever make a Krul nendoroid nor figma.
Never seen her before but she's cute. Times like these call for some kitbashing/modding :(
Luckily for me there'll be some Nikke figures (my fave obviously lol)

The slanted wrist joints ain't new. Bandai's 30minute sister kits has those since their first 3 kits 4yrs ago. Probably even kotobukiya's megami device and frame arms girl kits has those before even the release of bandai's 30minute sisters.
That's so funny I didn't even notice with Rishetta standing next to me since she usually has her claws and so I can't see the joint.
I actually agree with thickness of the base being reduce
It be better if they reduce the price for theyre product as well
( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Waiting for news update for GSC figures to reduce prices by 6.9%
I can't stand good smile because of how overpriced there figures are
Yeah 😔 _pulls out wallet_
Should talk about figma
We'll get there eventually!
figma is a bottomless pit of few releases, long schedules, crazy pricing and dodgy quality control.
Yet here I am waiting for them (mainly because Nikke)
I have mixed feeling for company as model kit builder, they pump out weird and obscure kits in their moderoid line and i love that but their plastic quality us not yet on par with bandai model kit and their structural frame for combining robots is often questionable maybe because they outsource their model kit design to a korean toys company called god brave studio and their main products is simplistic transformers robots from korean animated series called tobot
Oh yeah, I think I've seen those. Looks kinda retro tbh. I've never viewed GSC as a model kit company. In my eyes, they're more figure makers like Nendos and figma.
@NoGoodFigures their premium the gattai hagane works line is good like really good
Ahh mecha, that's why I haven't take any notice of them
@@NoGoodFigures yeah i watched anime but im not really into anime humanoid figures, i have some nendroid in the past but i sell them or i give them to my sister who is more into this kind of stuff, the only nendoroid i still have is L the old one from 2008 i think it's cheap back then or inflation because i remember nendoroid like $15 or something that's why im shocked when i buy ainz oowl gown for 40 something dollar
That's nice! But also quite the difference. I can see why that dude would be a bit more expensive. He's kinda bigger and I guess comes with more stuff(?). Looks cool though, I've seen him in person.
I honestly don't mind it, at least it encourages you to display the actual figure than putting it in a box prison
Yeah, the only ones in box prison for me are ones I don't have room/time for and have low-key forgotten about 😅...which I guess isn't the best thing either
bad smell company
That's a creative one
I find some china -> Japan tech pirating fun as well. I'm not sure if it really is the case, but the first time I saw a keyhole style peg connector in a Zoids is from the backpack swords of the SuperNova Mugen Liger. I kinda liked the Zoids wild series and bought both of their big cats (Kotobukiya HMM). Lo and behold. They both have the keyhole-styled pegs for their backpacks as well. And the Chinese release was a few years older than the Zoids Wild releases.
I think a lot of Japanese stuff is made in China anyway, so it's hard to say whether they're copying or just slow to adopt/decide not to go with certain options, etc. Doesn't matter too much in the end, long as the product is good.
I haven't looked at Zoids stuff in ages, had a few when I was a kid. Probably still have them somewhere but probably look pretty dodgy by now.
10 bucks says anyone upset about the packing are resellers who cant sell their figs at double the price 20 years from now.
Haha, depending on the figure, it might still be worth a lot in 20 years.
@@NoGoodFigures Collectors can be fickle. If the box is not as pristine as a virgin, they aint buying
I know what you mean. Some second-hand stuff in Japan is like “box damaged”, and it's like a microscopic scrape on one corner at the back.
Works in favour of people who don't really mind, I've found some great stuff for cheap (no box/damaged box, etc.)
@@NoGoodFigures I personally just want them to make removable plate carriers and a modern AK that has built in pic rails.
...
No wait, I should be asking Little Armory for that.
I think Hasuki actually does some nice gun accessories, need to double-check though
Good Smile no longer accepts cancellations on orders too
Ah, unfortunate. Makes it harder for impulse purchase/pre-orders...or easier.
