It has been a very solid optics for me on an AR9. No issues or malfunctions yet and I've ran it for around 9 months.

The green sight works a lot better than the red when it comes to shooting bright days...The red tends to wash out easily...For the price its worth it to me.....but you get what you pay for...GOOD GET BY would be my definition of it...

I got one for my plinker and for 60 bucks, you get a lot of features compared to other optics. generally you get what you pay for, and since the toy store carried them, I thought I'd give them a try

Human eyes see green far better than red. We evolved to being outside in the green landscape. There are far many more cones in the retina sensitive to green (100 million) than red (6 million). Red-colored sites, no matter how bright the LED, will wash out in daylight. You should've tested using the green LED during daylight. In dim light, the eye is equally sensitive to red and green, so it doesn't matter if you use red or green at night.
When seeing the reticle get obscured when moving your line of sight at the reticle, and where the reticle tended to bloom, did you rotate the sight to make sure the problem was with the lens. If rotating the sight does not change the side on which the reticle blooms (i.e., the blooming or defect in the reticle does not rotate along with rotating the sight), the problem is in your eye. Many users have undiagnosed astigmatism, so they may see flaring of an image on one side, something looking like the tail of a comma coming out of the dot, or other defects.

Things I learned the hard way. Save money on a cheap red dot and buy yourself a Vortex Crossfire / Spark. It's the price of 3 to 4 cheap clones (what most airsoft players will have bought, me included) and performes perfect for everything you want to have. Also you get lifetime warranty, even if you break you Vortex yourself.

      Amen to that

I agree with most of this but I have had Vortex refuse to replace an optic. They reserve the right to subjectively refuse warranty claims and it happened to me so it's probably more common than you think. When it comes to 1x red dots, more expensive is NOT always better. I've had great results from sub $100 units and not great results from $400 units. That's not the norm but there's not much to a 1x red dot and many times you end up paying for a brand name printed on the housing. Now, when it comes to magnified optics - you always get what you pay for. Just do your own research and don't listen to nerd LARPers like Lucas and you'll be good to go
