Excellent advice! Thank you for the video. I haven't made any of the mistakes listed in the video (so far!) however I do tend to study late at night 🦉🌌🌜
perhaps that is a mistake, but I like the quiet uninterrupted time.
I think make some other mistakes ...
Anyhow, I'm taking my time and learning gradually. My reason for learning is to be able to read (reasonably) well and perhaps even speak Russian eventually.
My hope is that 5 or 6 years from now I might be okay at it ! 🙏 I'm enjoying the process and not rushing. I study for an hour or two daily and some days more.
Incredibly, I did find the 95% perfect language channel last year. I'm very fortunate for that. A few other channels have helped my understanding along the way.
I haven't bought any books, other than some dictionaries.
The most practical dictionary (for me) is: "The Russian Learner's Dictionary - 10,000 Words in Frequency Order" by Nicholas J. Brown.
I tended to be attracted mostly to nouns when I first began to learn Russian words. It's interesting to know new names for things! Then I was interested in adjectives.
I had taken a peek at verbs and my reaction to verbs of motion was 😳😯😧😮😨😱!
The Frequency Dictionary is handy and practical. It's a bit expensive (my husband gave it to me as a birthday gift 🎁🥰) but there are used copies on internet.
It's also bit dated as it was compiled in 1996 (there are numerous new words not in the dictionary) but it's still very useful.
It is fascinating and surprising to check the listing of the word frequencies!
Then I became very interested in useful phrases and grammar.
Grammar is my weak point. I could learn new words all day! I only do 15 minutes of grammar study per day. I should do more, but it keeps it fresh and seems easier if the grammar doesn't feel like a chore. I review at the end of each day and when I recall something well, it is encouraging.
Perhaps I should buy some Russian language books, but I'm not sure which ones would be the best.
Listening to Russian songs is helpful too. Slang is fun, but I haven't focused on it yet.
Congratulations on the rising subscriptions! I like your channel ! Very good videos. It's much appreciated.
Blessings and best wishes to you. 💐
Btw, I admire that you are learning Chinese! Whenever I think that Russian is too hard, I remind myself that Chinese looks even more difficult! 😵‍💫🥴

Thank you for your comment 🫶 Its cool that you’re studying Russian step by step and with comfort speed. And you’re really doing great because regular studying is the key to success 🔑🏆 Your husband is very supportive! I didn’t hear about this dictionary but I will try to find some information.
What video do you want me to make about? I want to make useful content, so your ideas also can help me. 😇
I don’t think that Chinese is super hard language. Unfortunately now I don’t study it, but I hope that I will continue someday. ☺️

@@IloveRussian Thanks for the reply and the encouragement! I'm feeling a bit down today. 🥺
The Russian Cases aren't easy for me to remember. I can recognise when they are used if I am reading something and the reason why they are used.
But I can't recall it quick enough to be able to take part in a conversation properly.
Of course, it's still early days, and I remind myself of that fact. ☺
I would like to see a video featuring on one word or the name of a place, and then how it looks when used in sentences that focus on various cases.
      For example:🔹 Moskva.
      🔸On edet v Moskvu.
And then so forth, using various cases to demonstrate the word 🔹 "Moscow."
      🔸 Ya zhivu v Moskve.
Actually, Moscow is a handy example ! ✅
I just watched your video on Accusative Case again. I need to hear about the cases, how they are used and some examples using the same word as the main feature.
For an English speaker, the cases are confusing, however they do make the Russian language sound so beautiful 🥰
I haven't seen all of your videos yet, perhaps there is already a lesson there that fits this description - but a few videos of this type would be very helpful!
      Thank you! 😇
One of my close friends is Chinese. I should have asked her years ago about some Chinese words - it just seems so bewildering compared to English.
It's good to know that it might not be as daunting as I thought.
I admire that she knows two dialects and speaks English well. When we first met 15 years ago, she was new to Australia and shy to speak English, but she has improved so much excellent!
Yes, my husband is so thoughtful to buy this dictionary for me 😍!
I recommend it for learners, who already know English. 🌟
This dictionary contains 10,000 words in order of importance, starting with the most common and finishing with words that occur about eight times in a million.
All items have English translations, many have examples of usage and many include information on stress and grammatical irregularities.
There is also a complete alphabetical index to the words at the back of the dictionary.
A learner who knows all or most of these 10,000 words can be regarded as competent in Russian for all normal purposes.
The full list of words takes you from a beginner's core vocabulary through to post graduate level.
So it is useful and practical for learners on all levels! 🌟

Хорошие мысли! 🎉 Я думаю, что до сих пор у меня был достаточно хороший баланс, и мне удалось избежать этих ошибок. Ну, у меня довольно много учебных из библиотеке... но я использую только пару из них. 😅 И дальше мне следует сосредоточиться на грамматике, я пока не так много изучал грамматику.

      @IloveRussian  16 วันที่ผ่านมา

Спасибо за комментарий! ☺️ Я очень рада, что вам удаётся найти баланс. Это очень важно 👍
Я советую вам не фокусироваться только на грамматике. Как только познакомитесь с новым правилом, сразу используйте его в устной и письменной речи. 💫
