How to say what are you doing in Russian
Your a golden stone, honey. Итересна урос, жена.
Main mistake is to learn useless language
What’s useless for you isn’t useless for others.
My Russian friend told the the holding your thumb gesture is basically equivalent to the flipping the middle finger
In my opinion it’s not fully correct :) Because we use it only when we want to show that you will not get what you want. And it’s not that rude like the middle finger.
🎉🎉🎉
I have recurring nightmares with "Ы"
Ahahaha 😂 I will make shorts how to pronounce this sound easy 😅
@@IloveRussian благодарю. My wildest dream is to be able to say пыль or лысый (& be understood).
Try to translate these sentences to Russian or make your examples and I will check it☺️ 1. This is my friend Tom. 👨💻 2. Tom doesn’t have a cat. 🐈⬛ 3. Tom bought flowers 💐 to Masha. 4. Masha likes listening to pop-music. 5. Masha likes watching movies with Tom. 6. Tom and Masha live in Moscow.
1. Eto Moy drug Tom. 1. Eto Maksim i Marina. 2. Toma nyet Kota. 2.U Maksima yest' komp'yuter. 2. U Mariny(i) yest' karta. 3. Tom prines Mashe tsvety(i). 3. Marine 27 let. How do we really describe this in English? To whom? To what? "Time gave Marina 27 of it's years?!!" It translates strangely. 27 leta. 27 summers. The Seasons gave Marina 27 summers? I'm considering a word play here ... 4. Masha lyubit slushat' pop-muzy(i)ku. (pop-muzyku). I put the "I" in brackets as it helps me to recall the "bl" sound. 4. Marina lyubit Maksima. 5. Masha lyubit smotret' fil'my(i) s Tomom. 5. Marina gulyaet s Maksimom. 5. Maksim gulyaet s Marinoy. 6. Tom i Masha zhivut v Moskve. 6. Marina dumaet o Maksime. 6. Maksim dumaet o Marine. Thanks so much for the very helpful video
@@lilyrose4191you did great 🥳 Just few moments. У Тома нет кота. (If we’re talking about who has something or somebody, we put “У” first) Long time ago there was a word «лето» in Russian and, if I’m not mistaken, it had few meanings: warm season and 365 days. Historically we use this word when we talk about age or years. Marina is 27 years old. 1 (21, 31, 41…) год 2, 3, 4 (22, 32, 43, 54…), года 5 (6, 7, 12, 10…) лет Антону 1 год. Маше 34 года. Мне 20 лет.
@@IloveRussian Thanks so much! Oh yes, I knew about "y" (U) I think I typed a bit too quickly, lol! Thank you for the explanation regarding "I am 20 years old". Let = Warm season/year. Antonu = 1 year and Mashe = 34 years. Thanks for the information and the excellent video ... and for the encouragement! 😃

Did you make some of these mistakes before? ☺️
Of course I did!
Excellent advice! Thank you for the video. I haven't made any of the mistakes listed in the video (so far!) however I do tend to study late at night 🦉🌌🌜 perhaps that is a mistake, but I like the quiet uninterrupted time. I think make some other mistakes ... Anyhow, I'm taking my time and learning gradually. My reason for learning is to be able to read (reasonably) well and perhaps even speak Russian eventually. My hope is that 5 or 6 years from now I might be okay at it ! 🙏 I'm enjoying the process and not rushing. I study for an hour or two daily and some days more. Incredibly, I did find the 95% perfect language channel last year. I'm very fortunate for that. A few other channels have helped my understanding along the way. I haven't bought any books, other than some dictionaries. The most practical dictionary (for me) is: "The Russian Learner's Dictionary - 10,000 Words in Frequency Order" by Nicholas J. Brown. I tended to be attracted mostly to nouns when I first began to learn Russian words. It's interesting to know new names for things! Then I was interested in adjectives. I had taken a peek at verbs and my reaction to verbs of motion was 😳😯😧😮😨😱! The Frequency Dictionary is handy and practical. It's a bit expensive (my husband gave it to me as a birthday gift 🎁🥰) but there are used copies on internet. It's also bit dated as it was compiled in 1996 (there are numerous new words not in the dictionary) but it's still very useful. It is fascinating and surprising to check the listing of the word frequencies! Then I became very interested in useful phrases and grammar. Grammar is my weak point. I could learn new words all day! I only do 15 minutes of grammar study per day. I should do more, but it keeps it fresh and seems easier if the grammar doesn't feel like a chore. I review at the end of each day and when I recall something well, it is encouraging. Perhaps I should buy some Russian language books, but I'm not sure which ones would be the best. Listening to Russian songs is helpful too. Slang is fun, but I haven't focused on it yet. Congratulations on the rising subscriptions! I like your channel ! Very good videos. It's much appreciated. Blessings and best wishes to you. 💐 Btw, I admire that you are learning Chinese! Whenever I think that Russian is too hard, I remind myself that Chinese looks even more difficult! 😵💫🥴
Thank you for your comment 🫶 Its cool that you’re studying Russian step by step and with comfort speed. And you’re really doing great because regular studying is the key to success 🔑🏆 Your husband is very supportive! I didn’t hear about this dictionary but I will try to find some information. What video do you want me to make about? I want to make useful content, so your ideas also can help me. 😇 I don’t think that Chinese is super hard language. Unfortunately now I don’t study it, but I hope that I will continue someday. ☺️
@@IloveRussian Thanks for the reply and the encouragement! I'm feeling a bit down today. 🥺 The Russian Cases aren't easy for me to remember. I can recognise when they are used if I am reading something and the reason why they are used. But I can't recall it quick enough to be able to take part in a conversation properly. Of course, it's still early days, and I remind myself of that fact. ☺ I would like to see a video featuring on one word or the name of a place, and then how it looks when used in sentences that focus on various cases. For example:🔹 Moskva. 🔸On edet v Moskvu. And then so forth, using various cases to demonstrate the word 🔹 "Moscow." 🔸 Ya zhivu v Moskve. Actually, Moscow is a handy example ! ✅ I just watched your video on Accusative Case again. I need to hear about the cases, how they are used and some examples using the same word as the main feature. For an English speaker, the cases are confusing, however they do make the Russian language sound so beautiful 🥰 I haven't seen all of your videos yet, perhaps there is already a lesson there that fits this description - but a few videos of this type would be very helpful! Thank you! 😇 One of my close friends is Chinese. I should have asked her years ago about some Chinese words - it just seems so bewildering compared to English. It's good to know that it might not be as daunting as I thought. I admire that she knows two dialects and speaks English well. When we first met 15 years ago, she was new to Australia and shy to speak English, but she has improved so much excellent! Yes, my husband is so thoughtful to buy this dictionary for me 😍! I recommend it for learners, who already know English. 🌟 This dictionary contains 10,000 words in order of importance, starting with the most common and finishing with words that occur about eight times in a million. All items have English translations, many have examples of usage and many include information on stress and grammatical irregularities. There is also a complete alphabetical index to the words at the back of the dictionary. A learner who knows all or most of these 10,000 words can be regarded as competent in Russian for all normal purposes. The full list of words takes you from a beginner's core vocabulary through to post graduate level. So it is useful and practical for learners on all levels! 🌟

Привет! Спасибо, что остались со мной 🙏
Such an interesting video. Thank you for sharing your history and your thoughts about this special day. We appreciate this. @ 4:56 you mention going to visit the Veterans with your classmates. So touching that you congratulated them, brought them food and gifts. Most heartfelt of all is that you listened to them attentively. That is such an action of care! I'm sure the Veterans would have loved your care and attention. 💝 A very important and moving event for everyone. @6:11 speaking of the tragic, immense losses of more than 27 million and yes, every death is a tragedy in itself for each person and their loved ones. 😞 Irreplaceable loss 😓 Incredible Siege of Leningrad and The Battle of Stalingrad ... incredible suffering and even more incredible endurance and victory. All of the country suffered and endured in various ways and came out of it in victory. (Victory - the word sounds "glorious" but sometimes it's simply a relief.) This history has left lasting scars upon the psyche of your country and it shapes your future too. Interesting that you find yourself with a "middle ground feeling". It's good to look at this from various aspects and weigh up the good, with the bad and the awkward with the victorious. This simply reflects real life. Many people speak in "b&w" terms or even of "gray areas" ... however real life is filled with every imaginable colour. There's a multitude of ways to feel about issues. Can I say something as an outsider, looking at your history and your current situation in world history? Whether or not we agree with the politics of the struggles of soldiers and other people related to c0nflicts - those individuals are just trying to do what they can in those terrible situations. They don't have much personal choice - if any. Patriotism makes a choice for some people and necessity makes choices for others - and the law forces those who don't want to act. Folks in cozy armchairs can criticize - but have they ever been put into such a predicament?🤨 It was a necessity for your country to act in that era. If those brave people hadn't done anything, the n@z1s would've taken over and the world owes the USSR a debt of gratitude - which it has not paid.😭 It's shameful that history is forgotten and n@z1s are openly supported ... again! 😱 We offer heartfelt, sincere gratitude. Our families had direct ancestors who fought n@z!s. Our relatives would be turning in their graves to see what is going on now and the disgusting way that Rus is treated (by the west). You also mention the attitude of your govt - we have opposite feelings. We are astounded at the comparatively small amount of pr0pagand@ !!! The Rus govt is restrained and dignified - reserved compared to the circus in the West. We have never suffered what your folks endured, yet the psycho-babble here is off the scale. I also understand about the need to review historical mistakes - it is necessary to try to avoid future mistakes. But you can also get lost and tied up in details that can't be changed. What's done is done. The West is full of trying to rewrite history and endless arguments about it. Be Grateful for Those who gave their Tomorrow for our Today. Thank you so much for the video. We will check the links too. Blessings to you & yours and your wonderful country, today and always. 💕🙏💝
Thank you so much for your comment. For me it’s very heartbreaking to know that in the West and USA some people don’t know about what Soviet solders did for the peace during WWII. It’s very important to know and remember. I can’t imagine what our world could be like if soviet solders didn’t sacrifice their life for peace. That war influenced on our people and on Russia’s politics too (in my opinion). Propaganda inside of Russia is very strong. But people still can get other information too if they want.
@@IloveRussian Thank you for your reply. It's 💔for me too - the ignorance is astounding, but once again it's due to pr0pagand@ and historical facts are hidden or explained away. Depending on how things work out in the next few years, there just might be more awareness in the West. At this stage it's hard to imagine! But it's not impossible. Pr0pagand@ inside of Rus, that's understandable, especially given the times we live in. Whereas out here, it's all for the benefit of a select few - our pr0paganda is over-the-top now. That is the sad tale of history ... same as it ever was! It is good for people to source info, check out different opinions and ideas - be wary though! Don't "buy" what we're "selling" !!! Russia can strong and unique. Thank you for making the time and effort to create language and culture lessons. This is a good way to promote understanding between peoples. It is appreciated 🙏
