Dude, you're a stud for going through all the books and putting these videos together. I've been in to the game since N2 and I always found the layout of the fluff a bit hard to follow. Your videos are a huge help and very entertaining. Thank you!
I love that you are branching out into Infinity. The models have always looked great, and they are releasing a streamlined rulesset with their new box set so might be diving into that.
Ariadna is the first faction I discovered when I saw what Infinity was about. They are exotic, they are a bit rough, they are a mix of countries and cultures and they are fighting to remain independant against other powers. *These guys are my men !* We could dream about an epic crossover between Infinity and W40k, where Ariadna meet the Gaunt's Tanith First and Only regiment. The two look very similar and it is another reason I love Ariadna.
LoL, I did plan on doing a stopmotion about that (with Necromundan Gangs from 40k), buuuut then GW announced their ”no-tolerancy towards fan animations” policy…
I really hope you pick this Lore series back up again and delve into the broader strokes of the lore so far like the Daedalus gate and Paridiso, Winter For, Ko Dali etc and also the newer sectorials like Kosmoflot etc and the various NA2 factions - You do a great job!
Great video. I'd be cool if at a later point you took a look into the Triumvirate, the Digesters, the Aurora's affairs and the Crossroads of Paradiso. There's new lore in the RPG books and it's of critical importance to Infinity's world-building.
I love these videos! I have been trying to get into Infinity a long time, but due to the immense amount of complicated rules (for me anyway) I never really could commit. With the new Code One ruleset, that will hopefully fix that for me, coming soon my interest for Infinity is back in full force! I really love the look and feel of the Nomads, so I my vote for the next video is for them. Rejecting the AI and social constructs of Earth and doing their own thing on their fleets sounds awesome, and I want to hear more about it.
How did I miss that you were making Infinity lore videos! I've got a bunch of Shasvastii primed and waiting for me from their starter set. Good thing to have when you can't go outside.
Also loving these Videos and if you have access to them I might suggest looking at the Faction books for the Infinity RPG as they do a serious deep dive into the lore for the factions
Nice video! I mean there are lots of reasons to approach infinity but in terms of fluff Corvus Belli is far ahead its competition's nonsense, they are just on another level. (Plus, when they use greek, latin or arabic, they actually use it properly ...which is just respectful of the people that still study or speak these languages - right GW?).
ps. I also think the story of Ariadna is fascinating: the fact that Ariadna gains a position of dominance with the indigenous peoples of planet Dawn only to be later considered primitives themselves when the human sphere comes to the rescue is great tragedy material ;)
MRRF is my favorite of the Ariadna sectorials though Caledonia is also great. Especially with the new CodeOne starter coming out, PanO or Yu Jing would be good for a deep dive.
I'm interested in infinity as a new entry guide to the lore your videos are really good. I have to say that right now the lore of infinity is a little bit generic sci fi for my tastes but I'm coming from 40K that is the best sci fi setting ever made, anyway thank you for your videos and I'm hoping to see more of this in the future.
Ariadna sounds really neat. But I can't help comparing it to Barrayar from the vorkosigan series. Possibly it's just a coincidence but... Both have a single ship of a planetary colonization effort cut off from the rest of humanity by a wormhole closing unexpectedly. Both have the Colonists spending an incredibly long time isolated from everyone on a hostile planet. Both groups of colonists come from four cultural backgrounds, three of which being Russian, French, and British (on Barrayar instead of americans there are Greeks). Both groups develop vicious militant cultures while in isolation. And upon being rediscovered by Humanity, immediately has to fight for, and win, independence against a much stronger and more technologically advanced Human faction. Though, Barrayar, instead of remaining technologically stable, Regressed back to medieval feudalism, both in terms of tech and society. And their story is about the sudden shift from horseback cavalry to guerrilla warfare with laser guns in just 20 years without catching up culturally. Also, Barrayar doesn't have werewolves, unfortunately. Sorry just had to get that out of my head. But yeah Ariadna sounds awesome.
It really depends on the faction. Ariadna tends to have higher model counts (up to 20 is quite possible, though you can get close to 40 for the lulz and your opponent will hate you). Military Orders (the space crusaders of Pan-O) can be as low as 10 models (or, potentially less).
Did a quick google search of their exports and it lists textiles, lumber and fishing. Three things you’d definitely want experts in if you’re going to start a self sustaining colony. That’s my guess anyway :)
It was the UK that bullied its way into participation of the international space program. It was only once the Hiraeth (yearning for the old ways) took hold that the UK-derived folks galvanised around old Britain (Caledonia).
How do Ariadna manage to hold off the big Hypernations...................with a little help from Haqqislam (for good reasons) and the Nomad Nation (Because its a chance to give the middle finger to PanO and YuJing)
O-12 has put up protections for them too, also in the lore the Ariadnan commercial conflicts ended when Svalarheima was found to contain a lot of teseum too. That's why YJ and PanO moved away from Ariadna.
Afaik there were scotsmen on the lost ship. There was no UK, or any other earth nations, that they could return to, as far as they were concerned. They were stranded beyond a black hole forever. Allegiance to a nation that you will never see again wouldn't be helpful there
Haqqislam consists of all the Islamic nations, which I believe includes large parts of Africa. The Corregidor Nomad ship on the other hand used to be a refugee ship and consisted of a ton of Latin-American and African refugees who have now mixed into a new Latin-African cyberpunk-ish culture that falls under the Nomad nation.
@@PostQuemthank you for your quick response, but unfortunately your answer did not put a end to my question, the opposite, now i have realize that just like the sud-Saharan African, the Europe and the South America(from geography and not from cultural perspective) don't even appear as small states or being occupied by one major faction, let alone fully fledged factions to play.
@@christos-pavlos7138 Well, that's not entirely true. You have to realise that the factions are all at heart highly multicultural. For example, Panoceania's major languages are Hindi, Punjabi, Portugese and Spanish. English is not a major language anymore despite Australia and New Zealand playing major key roles in the history of the faction and them incorporating the EU and later buying out the US. Continents are also just not really important in the setting as most factions own multiple planets, so whether a faction controls a specific continent on Earth, is really just a minor detail in the infinity universe. In regards to Africa, I'm not sure if it's ever stated that Panoceania owns a large part of it, but I wouldn't be surprised if they did.
@@PostQuem i understands who small detail that is, and now i thinking that is better to never found the canon answer. Imagine the room of possible fan-fiction factions that leaves, like a Anti-Apartheid faction in South Africa fighting every major power who tries to establish a base of operations or a military Junta who take control of a European country after the economic collapse. That do you think about what?
Yes and no. They are US, Russia, Anglosaxon/Scots and Francogerman nations. Each of those nations can be played as a standalone (and will get bonuses by being just one of those) or they can "join forces" and be mixed. The biggest nation are the russians.
Yes. They are a planet cut off from the development of humanity by a wormhole accident. Now, they are reunited but, in comparison, really primitive from both a technological and societal point of view. But they stand together against the major powers as needed (blanket faction Ariadna) while furthering their individual goals (sectoral armies Caledonian Highlander Army, Force de Réponse Rapide Merovingienne, USAriadna Ranger Force and Tartary Army Corps).

I have always had a hard time digesting the Infinity Fluff and am leaning a lot from these. I wish you did more Infinity LORE videos!

A crossover with W40k... That sound horrible. The lore of W40k is not science fiction, it's FANTASY!!!!

I love this series on infinity! They really bring the factions and their concepts to life. Keep up the good work!
Ariadna is by far my favorite Faction especially the Caledonians
Great to have more Infinity lore in the interwebs! Keep doing great job!
I play TAK, fell in love with them as soon as I saw them. They reminded me heavily of the STALKER games which I absolutely love.
Чики брики и в дамки!
Bought a box of Frontoviks to paint because the models look so damn good.
Any more videos for infinity incoming? Sectorials?
Soooo well done ! Hope to see more in the future ! 😍🤩

Please keep the videos coming!
With Crimson Stone on the way this is a great primer.

Good video, can't wait until you get around to Aleph but that's just because that's the faction I play. 😛
I love USAF. I play them and love the look of the blackjacks.
great video series for new player to the game ty
Rodina aka tartary army corps!
Honestly when I get to play I do USAriadna, heck i refer to my force as the 1st infantry reborn.

I'd love to hear about the Nomads, but it might be better, if you cover the major factions, PanO and Yù Jīng first.
Tatary!!! Veteran Kazaks are very scary.
Great video!!
Tartary corps is my fave❤❤❤❤
Habla de las antipodas son la facción más interesante del juego 😍
USAriadna ohh you forgot to mention USAriadna made their own version of mcdonalds...lol
They even have a Coca-Cola factory!
May I ask if anyone has experience with this game, and how many models you need to play a game?
It really depends on the faction. Ariadna tends to have higher model counts (up to 20 is quite possible, though you can get close to 40 for the lulz and your opponent will hate you). Military Orders (the space crusaders of Pan-O) can be as low as 10 models (or, potentially less).
@@luddicus thank you!
10 to 16 models is the most common. Ariadna typically fields more, around 15 to 20. Great game, highly recommended.
10-16 models high end could be 18
Two or three boxes, a 2-5 blisters. Depending what you want to play
Whoop whoop! Space Murica (and others)
I'm struggling to think of what Scotland could contribute to Ariadna and Aurora.

Wait wait...so slightly confused as Scotland keeps being mentioned. Have they in this timeline left the United Kingdom?

USAriadna Fuck Yea!
So what you're saying is that Ariadna technically belongs to PanOceania...and therefore all Ariadnan sectorials are technically PanO sectorials.
This is a good video but there is too much prose - it would be better if you were more direct when trying to give people an intro to something.
